I love that song, & I have a lot of respect for the Garifuna people who I know to be very hard-working & industrious.
However, I do have an issue as to WHY (?) you- people have a tendency to change the spelling or add a prefix (Afro-, Bla-) to the names of other cultures, ...then boldly claim those ethnicities as your own.
Example, you changed:
1) Karifuna -to- Garifuna.
2) Latino -to- Afro-Latino,
aka
"afro-LIAR-tinos".
&
3) Creole -to- Kriol.

WHY do you - people do that?
Every well-educated person knows that...
1)... the real, genuine KARIFUNA people are the Carib-Amerindians formerly of St. Vincent, & presently of Dominica.
2)...the real genuine LATINOS are the copper - toned MESTIZOS, the tan-skinned MULATTOS, & the white-skinned, Italian-looking LATINS, descended from Italy.
3)... the real, genuine CREOLES are the light-skinned, (tan & beige),
Euro-Afro biracial people of the colony of British Honduras (now called Belize), whose fathers were the white European (British, French, German, Spanish & Portuguese male settlers of the colony, and/or the "loggers" who came in search of wealth by way of mahogany wood & sugar.
