Thank you for your feed back James, appreciated it. In order to get top end & acceleration you must increase the CC's. Its the only way. You can get one OR the other with the CVT and gears. Big Bore Kits (BBK) are not cheap...but they do work very well for a few hundred dollars. A pipe with stock motor will only change the sound, perhaps 2-3MPH increase. You don't need a ECU for 155BBK. The performance gains can go as far as the dollar your willing to spend. Most start out with just a CVT kit.
Have a stock zuma 125 and just did this mod thanks to your video. I LOVE the outcome of this mod, the scoot is much more relaxed around town at 30+mph and I didn't notice much (if any) bottom end loss.
They are two types of gears. Helical cut (30* angle) and OEM type straight. Both must be the same. In a set, you'll get two gears. A center gear with has to be punched in/out to replace or sometimes they come together which make for easy trade outs. You'll also get a larger gear which has 40+ teeth.
you can recycle the oil if you like. just take our contaminates with strong magnet or simple filter. Then change when you change your engine oil. Its only like 1/4 quart
The Zuma 50 & 125 are completely different animals. I do not much experience with the 50cc. ( I don't own one) I would take a look at the Z50 forum on ZumaForums for help. I would experiment with upgrading the CVT first, then move to things like a pipe and carb. Mostly because you will have to re-jet the carb. This has to be done correctly or you run the risk of running to lean and seizing the piston. 70cc BBK are easy to install, but there is a bit of know how involved.
You have to remove the front of the scoot. 7 screws. Use a plastic spatula to pry of the front carefully . You will see the bulb ports there. They are twist locks
This is a very helpful Clip. Thank you so much. I want to do the same change on my BWS but can't locate the matching gear parts. Is it possible to let me know the part ID's? Best wishes Thomas
Hey good video man but just wondering will this work on my 2014 kymco super 8 150 and if so can you let me know where you got them from and the make and model of each one that you've displayed in this video thanks
I know this video is old but I am purchasing a 2013 Zuma 125 You wouldn’t know where I can purchase those gears from or do you still have the model number. I don’t know if I will go for 12 because factories or nine and it’s totally stock
Hi Is it possible then to get a used majesty final drive and use the gears out of that? If that is possible which engine size Majesty are the gears out of please
Hi friend, I'm mexican. One question do you know how extract this cover but for yamana bws 100. The six screws of the cover are out but I can't extract the transmission cover. Thanks
You don't tighten the belt... when you start the motor the belt will fall into place and at the right tension. You're not changing the belt on a lawnmower. Thanks for watching!
this video is kind of confusing. which majesty gears are you using? do these gears come assembled or not? will it increase the speed on a regular 125. do you have less power with these gears?
I got 11grams performance rollers, white malossi torque springs and three yellow cultch springs am thinking of swapping my gears. Would like some advice on what ratio to buy because I climb a lot of hills and also run alot of flat to am in need of some help
I made this video over 10 years ago and have long since moved on… check the Facebook groups for the most recent information… thank you for watching though
DynamoUSA thank you for getting back to me ill look that up online. also when u take the big mud guard off the back of bike how did you mount your number plate?
Hello, I'm working on my 05 zuma 50... I took it all apart because the crank wouldn't turn, I found that water got into the belt compartment ( was in a flood In April on kauai) , my question to anyone pls is the tiny little shaft up to the right of the starter gear, is that supposed to turn pretty easy? It's rusty and the stArter clutch wouldn't turn but when I took off the gears and variation the crank turned freely . Do you know what it possibly could be . Thanks 🙏
Hi. I tryed using my rear brake to take the clutch off. it didnt work offcourse but now my rear wheel is very hard to turn when i tighten the rear wheel on.i got the clutch off with similar tool as yours in 5 sec afterwards offcourse and replaced the springs but messed something up before. rear wheel was stationary while i tryed to loosen the small nut on the clutch and i could turn the clutch. destroyed bearing on wheel axel maybe?
Hi! What was the top speed before the upgrade I'm curious how many miles difference will be I got by bws125 in Taiwan his top speed is about 62~63 miles Thx~
2 major mistakes where you are doing a diservice to viewers, never reuse a gasket, it doesn't matter tears or no tears, they're not that expensive, replace it. Also, always use a torque wrench when tightening anything that has a gasket and use a criss cross pattern, not a circle. piss poor demonstration.
Robert Lamothe in areas where you have high pressure, sure replace them. the gear box just has a gasket to keep the oil in. as long as you don't crush the seal it's fine... that particular gasket lasted 5 times before it finally ripped.
Thank you for your feed back James, appreciated it.

alexander ostin make absolutely sure you have taken out every bolt. Then tap the cover with a rubber mallet and the cover will pop off.
Hi friend, the six screws (bolts) are out. the cover can moves but I can't extract this cover. Do you speak spanish?

hi Just wondered what the tool was you used to undo the clutch and where I could get one from?
Autozone or harbor freight
I have the 163cc big bore, what brand, and gear set should I buy
I made this video over 10 years ago and have long since moved on… check the Facebook groups for the most recent information… thank you for watching though
hi Just wondered what the tool was y
ou used to undo the clutch and where I could get one from?
barnes23e3 it is just a rubber strap wrench. Used for oil filter removal, and things you don't want to mare up. keep it oil free and it won't slip.
DynamoUSA thank you for getting back to me ill look that up online. also when u take the big mud guard off the back of bike how did you mount your number plate?
