Half the reason I posted this is just to keep a consistent upload schedule ngl lol, but I hope y'all enjoy o7 Like I said in the description, this is a bunch of mostly WIP tracks I made as part of an idea I had to make a fake video game OST. Some of the tracks I put some rough "finishing" touches on only a couple days ago, just to get them into a somewhat more complete state, but they still definitely need some work. Primarily talking about "Escape The Ziggurat" and "Shadow Of Neptune" but this also applies to all the tracks besides "Welcome To Metropolis" and "Psionic Assault." Still have no idea when the full album will be finished, but I'll probably post it to Bandcamp as a pay what you want album.
Yeah they're all WIPs, though some definitely more so than others. "Welcome To Metropolis" and "Psionic Assault" are pretty much finalized, with the only thing left being to make sure they're mixed & mastered to an acceptable level. Also, it's funny you mentioned it being a PS2 era soundtrack, 'cause I was actually envisioning it being for something older than that. The idea for this album came after I'd been playing the Blood remaster and the Ion Fury DLC, both of which are Build Engine games, as well as Selaco, which is using GZDoom (which is built off the 1993 Doom engine). So my idea is/was actually for this to actually be from a lost late 90s/early 2000s 2.5D shooter along the lines of Doom, Blood, Duke Nukem 3D, etc.
@@dxmthl Interesting! I thought PS2 because the Osamu Tezuka film adaptation of Metropolis came out in 2001 (obv the original far predates that). Felt like the kind of film-to-game adaptation where the game studio is given complete creative freedom and ends up delivering a divergent product from the source material that absolutely slaps - even if it has a unique environment. Gonna have blitz through some boomer shooters with this playing in the bg soon!
Yeah, made them all myself. I've actually started a bit over 35 tracks over the last few months as part of this project, but probably like two thirds of those are barely anything more than me just messing around to see if I could come up with something worthwhile. So in total I'd say I probably have like 5-6 more tracks that are in a state where I wouldn't be basically starting from scratch if I decided to start working on them again.
