the best is Floor (in general among the best singers in the world). Tarja is an average good singer. the difference between people without knowledge is that they like a voice and think that makes something the best while experts look on the ability to modify/control the vibrato (floor is a master, tarja cannot do that much), coloring (floor can do that, tarja not much), storytelling (floor is a master, tarja has like most singers rather an attitude), transition between different voices - from head, mixed, chest (Floor is a master, Tarja generally not able to do that), accuracy (Floor was by experts even computer software measured as representation of a master class in this regard- no expert would ever someone like Tarja take as an example) and so on. And everyone with a pattern matching also should have recognized that all better voice teachers, voice experts and singers like to analyze Floor's high resolution and choices of every note while you hear about Tarja just like with most singers just some generic stuff. THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT! one should also learn to read between the lines (sometimes not necessary, because some experts even said that). Tarja was for instance never able to sing for instance 'Shallow' in this way and detail. Anette vould also not sing like that but has at least less timing errors (Tarja has a lot in many songs, she also has no clean vibrato). Tarja just like Anette are good average singer (which is better than an average human but not master class like Floor). Compared to Anette has Tarja just the benefit of having an iconic operatic voice while Anette has more of a pop voice which has not that good reputation. But again, that does not tell much about the actual singing ability. Back to Tarja: because she is not like Floor able to adapt to everything and has not the singing skills she depends much more on that the song/setting fits to her voice. A good example where everything comes in a good way together is 'The phantom of the opera'. She also has there a timing error and her typical flat/overpressing tone outside of her comfort zone but its not that obvious and the other aspects of her fit very well to the buildup, instruments and Marco ...

@@publicminx Another expert on vocal techniques, who made an icon out of Floor.)))) If it wasn't for Tuomas and Nightwish, experts wouldn't be admiring Floor's vocals now. Before Nightwish, Floor had no achievements except for her ruined bands. Tarja and Floor have different type of vibrato and vocals, what's the point of comparing them. Vaunted versatile Floor can't sing Mein Herr Marquis, or Swanheart from Nightwish's second album (especially final legato), while Tarja has no problem. Tarja's bel canto technique is much better, Floor's vocal power is not enough to cover at least a chamber hall without a microphone, while Tarja does it easily (e.g. Ave Maria Christmas Tour in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, video on TH-cam).
