Helpful. Had Tinnitus for 2 years. Through your TH-cam channel, I live in the UK, I was able to use your suggestions to calm my fear down. I believe I'm now a 3/4 on the habituation scale 😁
My experience: fear definitly, Attention No. Attention leads to awareness. Awareness leads success in healing.leads to less Tinnitus, or non at all one day
Helpful! Kudos to Lynn for being brave and determined and for working so diligently through so much. Inspirational! Thank you, Dr. Ben and Treble Health, for featuring Lynn's story of success and other hopeful ones like hers.
I love your pod cast and Lynn’s story was very helpful . I am new at this and have had a hard time dealing with it . I would like to watch a talk to you on your pod cast . Thanks for this .
Dr. Ben video rocks again for having hope and being positive with these tips. Treble health has changed my life because you specialize in it. Everyone needs to give it a try. This video was very helpful in how treble health has changed her way of viewing it. Putting it in to perspective and using treble health’s tools to have a positive journey with tinnitus. Sound therapy is key with CBT with treble health. It works for me. Relaxing feeling and behavior is important in helping me as well. Turning off that fight and flight mode helps you to get a better handle on the perception of the sound mentally. Habituation does happen just not right away. It’s not a quick fix thing. It takes time. And SLEEP is key. I agree with her. No fear of death from it because it’s not going to kill you is so important. Treble health is key. Thank you Dr. Ben. And those that don’t understand what she is saying has not tried treble health, so they won’t get it. I recommend they do.
Sure, Disdi. We are glad to know that our videos have helped you. Enjoy exploring our other TH-cam videos, as well as blog articles on our Treble Health website.
I've been having trouble with tinnitus for around 5 months now, after going to a concert that was much louder than expected. Although I did plug my ears for some of it, I guess it just wasn't enough. I will be using ear plugs for our next concert. If we decide to go to one. Ben's videos have been helpful along with others I have watched. I have an audiology test this coming Tuesday. The results will be sent to my GP. She will decide whether I need to see an ENT. I'm hoping for some good advice from the audiologist. At 62 years old, I'm certainly not against hearing aids, if need be, but I'm hoping not.
Sound therapy and CBT does help lower the volume. I use a sound machine and have noise on in every room. Changed my attitude towards it no fear. Had it since March and it’s slowly getting better. Takes time so be patient.

Thank you very much Lynn and Dr Ben... This video is very helpful and it gives me a lot of hope. These videos have been helping me since December of 2021 when I started having ringing in my ears. I have seen an audiologist who says I have mild hearing loss, however I am still waiting to see an ENT (he has a long waitlist). I would have signed up for a consultation, however I wasn't sure if I need to see an ENT first... I also wasn't sure if you could help people outside the United States (I am in Canada). Thank you again, your videos are a God send!!
Hey Dianne, I am a patient and also in Canada. My doc wouldn’t even refer me to an ENT! She said “It’s just something you have to live with it.” It has been really easy to meet via zoom/texts/email. Payment is by credit card. Even if you need hearing aids programmed for tinnitus sound therapy it’s super easy.
Hi Diana, try Canadian audiologist associates for advice where to find audiologist who specialize with tinnitus. I have tinnitus and AudioSense in Toronto is my audiologist. Hope you can get help in finding a audiologist.
You're very much welcome, Dianne! At Treble Health, we offer free consultations via telehealth. We are accepting new patients and would gladly consider you as a new client or direct you to the appropriate local doctor. Feel free to contact our team at Treble Health to sign up for an appointment.
@@dianne3939 I didn’t. I did though have a consultation about using them (with my Treble Health audiologist). They will work with you to find the solution that’s right for you. Working with someone in whom you have confidence and trust is really the key. For me, that’s been telehealth through Treble Health. Stay positive, stay focused on the end goal but also include some fun and distraction along the way. ☺️

Hi, Cathy! It is possible. My ringing also increases with jaw and neck movements and I have started to habituate. Ours is not a unique case, somatic tinnitus is very common and people habituate to it too. Remain calm and stay away from negative forums and you will start to feel less bothersome. Best wishes.
@Cathy I'm not completely habituated yet. But this is my 5th month with tinnitus and I feel much better than 2 months ago. My first three months were hell on earth because I was measuring and checking my tinnitus all the time. Now tinnitus just bothers me in a particular task, but I won't tell you which because I do not want to determine your response to that task, as it happened to me. I'm having problems with that task because of the negative commentaries and lies I read in a forum at the beginning. For the rest, I feel good. I've done nothing special, just read positive stories and avoid negative commentaries. I have friends with tinnitus and all of them told me that they are completely habituated and the ringing does not disturb them at any task (working, reading, hobbies, family meetings, etc), know that helped me a lot to be better. It takes time Cathy -- as you probably have already read, from some weeks to over a year. So stay calm. If you are having a rough time, seek some therapeutic help (psychologist, treble health, etc), they will help you to be better. Avoid my worst mistake with tinnitus, reading commentaries on the internet and you will start to recover your life and calm down soon. Remember to stay calm, it is a slow process. If you feel the need of reading about tinnitus, look just for positive and success stories.

I've developed Tinnitus since I had covid. I think it's due to inflammation. It's reduced in volume a little but still there and annoying.
I got a relapse in my tinnitus after Covid in November 2023…I am still dealing with it. Are you doing better?
