I like a lot of German metal, Accept, Grave Digger etc, but for me Running Wild is the best!
Running Wild has always had the best double bass! So clean, so snappy and so perfectly timed. No need for crazy stuttering... give me driving double bass and let me hang off the prow of a pirate ship!

+Ariel Rojas Running Wild's good songs are too numerous to fit into one setlist. I only did not really like "Into the West" and "Riding on the Tide", both of them just too syrupy sweet with overproduction and groovy hooks. Same goes for the _Resilient_ tracks, but goddamn is it hard to stay mad at the seaworn buccaneers.

..вроде известнейшая группа..а на сцене как мохровый совок...раз уж состав претерпел кучу изменений и от оригинального состава только фронтмен - ему отказаться от гитары и сконцентрироваться на вокале и поменять всех гитаристов (для выступления на фесте типа Вакен - куча людей найдётся на три головы профессиональней данного состава, единственное драммер нормальный) обидно за группу..

I was there last year and there were 10000 People or less. they played at 1am, shitty Time on a Festival that big with so many Bands before RW. the People were just tired
It rained a lot on wednesday and thursday (all the festival area as flooded , especially in front of the stages) , so it can explains that! Sound was waaay better than the recording . RW kicked ass!

sound wasnt better then the recording, the first songs you cant hear anything. later it gets a bit better but sound was very shitty the whole day on the black stage black label society for example was very shitty too

Was there. For me, a perfect set made for true fans. I cant understand people complaining about a set that includes white masque or jennings revenge instead of the ALWAYS used ones.

I'm one of those people who don't like this setlist. The songs you mentioned are great iindeed but songs like Locomotive or Riding On The Tide could have been replaced by songs like Black Hand Inn,Dragonmen,Port Royal,Chains And Leather etc..

Questi non sono più i Running Wild ma Rock 'n Rolf, bolso e scazzato, che si fa accompagnare da 3 musicisti presi a caso per grattare ancora un po di soldi ai vecchi fans. E' senza voce e non si capisce neanche quello che canta.... tristissimo da vedere e sentire.
I Running Wild sono finiti dopo l'album the Rilvary.
Io voglio ricordarli come erano fino ai primi anni 2000. Non questa pagliacciata senza capo né coda

I am RU fan since 1885, when i had their first two lps records on a cassette. RU is one of the best german metal acts. Scorpions, Accept - UDO, Kreator, Kai Hansen (Helloween, Gamaray, Unisonic) and Running wild! Almost every band have played in Bulgaria after 1990. but some doesnt -here's my wish list , for the bands i want to see live - EVH, Running Wild and Coroner. Carlos Santana too. As a hobby guitar player i know Under Jolly Roger and Black wings of death. I should learn to play more RU song, they are such fun to play!
Did you catch them last summer in Bulgaria? Wife and I (from Spain) saw them there 2022 and it was so epic. And yes! We also play as hobbyists and cover on guitar and bass Under Jolly Roger, Bad to the Bone, Black Wings of Death (so fun!), Desert Rose, Rebel at Heart, Powerride, Dracula, and maybe our favorite Uaschitschun.

I thought they only really started to get going with Bloody Island and Little Big Horn - and then they stopped! Pete and Rolf connected well on the newer material they wrote together - if we weren't going to get much old speed metal stuff, they should have played more of Resilient, rather than those two crummy Shadowmaker songs. More songs with double solos too, Running Wild have plenty of songs with a solo by the second guitarist and here Peter seemed to either keep quiet or pinch part of Rolf's solo.
Sorely missing songs were Black Hand Inn (moon rising high, Rolf obviously didn't check his lunar calendar) and no Prisoner of Our Time is like an Iron Maiden show without "Iron Maiden". Some of the guitar harmonies sucked - what happened to Raw Ride? (the riff wasn't right, but worst of all it sounded like Peter was in a different key for the lead harmonies!!) Other niggle is no pinch harmonics in the Bad to the Bone riff, but at least the bassist actually knew the parts to Riding the Storm (unlike the last Wacken gig where whoever it was missed out the counterpoint)
Not embarrassing but could easily have been a lot better. Honestly thought they were winging some of it, and had rehearsed some songs more than others.
