Better yet I like to think as this being some form of "its going to be okay" to other family members. If you pay attention it basically is like some form of "Im happy that i've been here" message.
You feel your memories fade but you cast it aside as temporary, and you could be back to normal not knowing where this troubling condition will drive you.
It's too late for that, though. The diagnosis has already been made. The character might try to deny his condition to shield himself from the horrors of his fate, but he too knows that it's but a farce.
Year 2. The release date is October 17th, 2021. Six years remaining. C1- In the beginning, it talks about thunderstorm outbreaks and how they’re coming up for tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon, or early evening. Year 1 had a track that talked about the weather, but it wasn’t that serious. I wonder if this storm will have any significance later down the line. And besides the bumper itself, the melody that plays afterward is nothing short of hauntingly beautiful. C2- “You’ve given us such a wonderful life. A life that I really never dreamed possible. And it’s the most extraordinary feeling, to represent a nation and its people. I could never thank you enough for all the experiences and memories that you’ve made possible.” This has got me thinking: How important was the protagonist before the diagnosis? Did he do something that changed the world in a certain way? Who was he really? These are questions that may never be answered. C3- A track that just seems to put me on edge. I really have no other way of describing it. That’s how I perceived it, and that’s how it’s going to be. C4- The first track of Year 2 that is worthy of being called “Vaporwavy.” And that melody-I’d recognized that Steely Dan track right off the bat-but forgot the lyrics. What can I say, this is about dementia after all. C5- No way, is that what I think it is? House of the Rising Sun? This track honestly just gets better the longer you listen to it. I have nothing else to say about it, it’s just that good. C6- I think the title is very fitting for this track. The longer it plays the more depressed and hopeless it becomes. Those stars in the sky are growing evermore distant, like all of the memories remaining in the patient’s mind. D1- Those pills are becoming more useless by the day. The pills serve as a means to slow down the condition for as long as possible, but will become more obsolete as time goes on. The struggle to remain in clarity begins here, and it will never be the same again. D2- Another song that I am a little too familiar with: Make It Like A Memory. Make it like a dream unreal. Make it like we’ve never met, but I can’t forget; that’s how I feel. A night to never forget, and a memory to remain defiant in the face of Dementia itself. Another name that would’ve been ideal for this track: “Storm Clouds Gather Overhead.” But I do like the title of this one nevertheless. D3- A all around, feel good song that is the only track in this year to sound slightly happy and joyful. But sooner or later, the patient will have to come back into reality and throw out the pill bottle. And it is of vital importance that this matter be attended to, so we may have to bring in our friend from Younkers. If you know, you know. D4- This song is not too familiar to me, but it is to my mom and dad. I hope to never see the day where they become conflicted with this prolonged and terrible disease. I might’ve shed a tear to this track at the very thought of that. Sorry. D5- I just discovered this track recently and it became one of my all time favorite songs. So to see it in this left my heart broken in many ways. And as soon as the beat kicked in at 36:27, I began to break down uncontrollably, as much as the protagonist in this story. They are beyond saving now, and can deny the disease no longer. This is the start of the battle that he cannot win, and it will continue to rage on just like the storms. Love this track to death. D6- And our patient is being welcomed by despair. He had thrown out the pills, and the track itself sounds bittersweet and welcoming, like what the title of this song says. There really is no turning back now. He knows it’s too late to be saved. I liked this year overall, and my personal favorites were C5, D2, and D5. I think I typed more here than what I’ve typed for the original NATMOS Stage 2. But regardless, I most certainly can’t wait to see how depressing Year 3 is. I’ll see you then. -Lacey
C1 "That is what is coming towards us for the rest of this week. Our latest satellite picture taken late this afternoon again show lots of clear skies around, but you notice all the white little dots right down through here. All that is thunderstorm outbreaks and uh, some of those could be coming up for tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon, or early evening. As we take a look at our forecast then for tonight-" C2 "You've given us such a wonderful life. A life that I really never dreamed possible. And it's the most, extraordinary feeling to represent a nation and its people. And I can never thank you enough for all the experiences and memories that you've made possible."
Coming back after a while and man I have to say, I just love the atmosphere this brings. It's the same mood as of year 1 but like it feels a lot more.. on the edge. Obviously something is wrong, something is holding them down but it's ignored or kinda not really cared for because of medicine. Every now and then tho we see tracks that really put into perspective how the protagonist is truly feeling. It feels a lot like an ignorant bliss slowly slipping into acceptance something is wrong. (esp D1)
Album cover thoughts: Obviously, it's a pill bottle and a pill in a purple background. The background seems cloudy, wich makes sense considering the whole storm metaphor begins in this stage. The pills could be anything honestly.

The slow development process of NATMOSR has oddly worked in its favor. I've heard of multiple people associating memories with the earlier years and as they get older it appears their effects are enhanced...

Theory about the C1 bumper: So basically there's someone telling the weather right? They say that there are clear skies, but he mentions that there are "white dots" and thunderstorm outbreaks, perhaps meaning that the clear skies aren't going to stay clear for so long. This is just a theory though
from my perspective this is kinda like natmos but from the POV of a millennial instead of a gen-x'er (that's because one thing i noticed is that the samples sound a lot more modern and closer to the 2000's? im not really sure but that's how i see it)
To me, they are two different people. They didn't live at different times, they live in different places. A lot of the songs in NATMOS S1 don't feel very energetic, and the static makes the songs feel warm and cozy, someone isn't too active. NATMOS:R, on the other hand, a lot of the songs are more energetic and it's not as common for songs too heavy on static, like the patent is getting old yet they are still active and doing activities they enjoy a lot of the time
