Great stuff, didn’t think about the kida line but the simba comparison + shift target makes it good enough. I think this convinced me to sleeve this up and start experimenting! I think lanterns are better than flutes rn, btw. It’s certainly close, and might be meta dependent, but this deck needs the speed right now
I think there is probably a good sapphire steel deck out there, but I think it's probably harder to find a good build. I just haven't thought about it yet.
The other card that should be played and have to plan inkables around is perdita. This is your anti be prepared card and allows to return stitch/hood/kida for shifting next turn. Which is very tempo heavy. Questing with her gives you extra stitch value every turn, and 6 willpower is a big body, so rapunzel can also get some value there.
I do think Perdita could be good. It's just tough to find slots for uninkable utility cards in a deck that want to be laser focused on what is effectively a combo.
Great video as always! There were a few occasions when you passed on using Bare Necessities in favour of ramp and I am wondering why - particularly in the game versus RA where you could have sniped that Teeth and Ambitions. You could then have gone on to shift the Stitch. The game still turned out okay, but curious to know your thoughts.
I think that's a really good question. I think in this case the lantern is the main reason I chose my line. Basically if I ink a 1 drop and play bare necessities my shift stitch is WAY worse. It comes down a turn slower, I have 1 less card I can use to draw with it, and I still need to spend a turn playing lantern. If I ink Beast to play bare necessities, I still slow myself down and lose my backup plan. What if they simply have 2 teeth? Also teeth is still just a one for one trade and not a blowout by any means. It's also very possible for bare necessities to whiff wasting a card and a whole turn. In general the role of bare necessities is to stop sweepers and combo cards. I wouldn't worry about protecting my stuff against one for one trades especially if I have another good play.
A couple of them are good on their own, but a lot of them require some synergy to be good. I think a lot of decks will play 0, but I expect to see them in ruby decks with Jim Hawkins and some steel pirate decks for sure. The Queen's castle should show up as well.
I think they’ll be played in RA decks, Queens Castle is very good and the Legacy card are good as well. Jolly Roger is okay too maybe as a 1 of. Sapphire will play Motunui for Tala decks, Pirate decks will play alot of locations and then Steel Emerald will play Bayou for the otk with Beast.
That honestly would have been pretty reasonable. At the time I wanted to make sure I had enough ink to play Beast and Stitch, but then why even play the one drop at all right? I feel like a chose a weird middle ground and either your line OR no 1 drop might have been smarter.
Flutes might be a better version. Ultimately, lantern allows for more explosive plays while flute gives sneaky reach. Hard to know which is better right now. I thought was that bare necessities improves our matchup versus sweepers so flute is a little less necessary. If you want to try a flute list, you should. It might be better.
Just trying for explosiveness rather than reach. I think there a lot of ways to build this deck and I chose one without flutes. I think if you wanted to seriously play steelsong this season you would also test with flutes. It will all depend on what the meta looks like though.
I really want the new Minnie to be good. We already play bodyguards with singers, so why not play a singer that supports bodyguards? What do I know though.
You are churning out videos this week and i am here for it
Well it's peak hype season! I'm already playing with the cards so I might as well record I guess.
I like how this deck is very fast and surprisingly works well in the pre-meta.
Finally someone addressing this deck
I'm surprised not many people have brought it up. I guess it's old and boring at this point.

Steelsong King is back.
Ha, I don't think I get to be called that anymore
Amber steel looking strong this meta! Curious to see your take on sapphire steel wheel for set 3 after your end of the chapter 2 video on it.

I would have liked to see some games and how you play going second. I noticed all the games you included were going first
thoughts on locations? do most decks not need them/should you only run them in 'location specific decks?'
A couple of them are good on their own, but a lot of them require some synergy to be good. I think a lot of decks will play 0, but I expect to see them in ruby decks with Jim Hawkins and some steel pirate decks for sure. The Queen's castle should show up as well.
@@bannibalharca thank you! @Zeroskatr12 is still a fraud
Always has been and always will be.@@BakedGoods

22:22 why not shift robin hood?

Hey maybe you said and I didn't hear. Im wondering though why you don't play flutes? Do you just think that the lanterns are just better in the slot?

What’s the record with this deck
In lab there is no MMR so any record would be pretty meaningless. I probably went like 9-1, but that really doesn't mean anything.
with 20 songs, even more than Zefa's tooting deck, any specific reason why no flutes? (legitimately asking for a friend)
Just trying for explosiveness rather than reach. I think there a lot of ways to build this deck and I chose one without flutes. I think if you wanted to seriously play steelsong this season you would also test with flutes. It will all depend on what the meta looks like though.
No flutes is wild

It could be worth a try
