I was told by an old spread, and this may well be wrong, that the rounded corner could be formed by the joint between thumb and forefinger by running this up the corner.
Thanks for your comment! There's always more than one way to skin a cat (as they say...), as long as you're wearing suitable gloves that would be a useful way to form the corner, we'd still give the render a final float to compress and finish the surface.
