We feature one of the final interviews with Palestinian doctor Hammam Alloh, who died Saturday when an Israeli artillery shell struck his wife's home, killing him, his father, brother-in-law and father-in-law. On October 31, Democracy Now! spoke to Dr. Alloh about conditions at Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest hospital, and his decision to continue working, as he called on people in the United States and the rest of the world to take action against Israel's indiscriminate assault. When asked about why he refused to leave his patients, Dr. Alloh responded, "You think I went to medical school and for my postgraduate degrees for a total of 14 years so I think only about my life and not my patients?"

"You think this is the reason why I went to med school? To think only about my life? This is not the reason why I became a doctor." Hero. I truly do not know what kind of heart could listen to this man and dismiss his words. His name will be a blessing, his name will be a reminder to never stop doing what we can to make sure this stops--and never happens to anyone.

How could he study to become a doctor if the Jews “do not allow the region to develop and keep the people under occupation”? The truth is that the only state that cares about the people of Gaza is Israel. Yes, yes and yes again! Out of great love for humanity, Israel kept the borders with Gaza translucent, provided jobs, water, electricity, and built hospitals and schools in Gaza. Gaza also had donations from the UN, but with this money Hamas fattened there, building its underground warehouses and rocket launchers. The people, including this doctor, chose their fate and shared it with Hamas. If they hadn't been such beasts on October 7, no one would have had to cry

First of all, it should be noted that only a resident of Gaza can work as a doctor in the Gaza Strip. So this person went to medical college.
