We go to Part 2 of our conversation with Israeli scholar Neve Gordon, professor of international law and human rights at Queen Mary University of London and chair of the Committee on Academic Freedom for British Society of Middle East Studies. Gordon talks about the "massive surveillance apparatus" Israel has imposed on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, the use of artificial intelligence tools to bomb targets despite the high error rate in those systems, and the shock of the October 7 attack by Hamas that killed some 1,200 Israelis. "The state seemed not to be functioning, so most Israelis were in great pain, were in great fear," he says. "My fear is that most Israelis are still trapped, still stuck in that October 7th moment and unwilling to lift their eyes to see basically the genocide unfolding in the Gaza Strip."

Israel as an illegal occupation had absolutely no right, at any time, to implement any surveillance onto the Palestinian people. To be clear - it is an illegal occupant! Never anything “noble” about the surveillance. It has always been about control/domination and security for the illegal occupants.

I was making eggs for my husband Tuesday night while talking on my cell and my hand accidentally hit against the frying pan and all the hot oil spilled some splashing on my house dress, the dress stuck to my skin and I had to pry it off. The burning and pain was extraordinary. Labor pain is bad, but the pain from the this burn was a close second although different. I can't describe it. It ended up as a second degree burn. I bawled so hard, I couldn't sit. I had to lay flat on my back or stand. Immediately, like the first thing that went through my head, is wow, the Palestinian kids I see on social media who have been burnt all over their bodies must feel like they are in hell. At least I can get treatment for my burn covering a small portion of my stomach. They can't. That's what went through my head. Israel's empathy is lacking. Horrific!

Palestinians ( both Moslems& Chiastians ) have no problems with Jewish people. They are agaist Zionists in Israel who with the help of the British deprived them of living in Palestine and created the Apartheid state of Israel. I fully agree with Prof.Gordon in advocating a One - State solution to the Palestinian problem whereby Israelis and Palestinians will live in peace and cooperation " From the River to the Sea every one will be free.Israel previously Palestine is a very big and beautiful country that can accommodate all Israelis and Palestinians.

    • @amandaoconnor2854
      @amandaoconnor2854 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I agree with most of what Prof. Gordon has said. I do not believe he, I, you, the US, Canada (my country), etc, have any business telling Palestinians what their future/their future state should look like. They were denied self-determination under the British Mandate. Over half their land was stolen under the UN partition plan. They've been living under military both before and since 1967. The US and allies put themselves forward as neutral parties to negotiate a 'peace process' when they were never neutral. None of the processes recognized and understood the roles, nuances, and responsibilities of Oppressor - Oppressed. The roles have always been reversed and more is expected of the Palestinians. Neocolonism is a strong drug! So I think we have no business saying what the Palestinians should do, who can represent them. Regardless of whether or not we recognize it we are not not neutral, even on an individual basis, by virtue of being Westerns. And, as a Westerner, I'm realizing it's not my goddess-given right to have an opinion on everything! 😂

The Israelis are so bloodthirsty that they don’t even realize what comes out of their mouth , actually they discriminates their argument about October 7, 2023. If Israel has all of this sophisticated artificial intelligence, how did October 7 occur, one Israeli colonel said that it would take less than three minutes from Israel to To reach the Kabutz where the concert venue was held. Female Israeli soldiers advised over and over again, and reported that a threat is looming an attack is coming. And it was ignored. With the sophisticated spyware and artificial intelligence it’s really hard to believe that this was not done by the Israeli army by the psychopaths of Netanyahu government. This was an inside job to justify the takeover and attack of Gaza by Israel. You will see In the next 10 years or so, maybe even less the truth will surface on who was behind the attack on October 7, 2023. And for the guest speaker I am so sorry for the loss of your family and friends, yes, it is painful. So imagine how the Palestinians feel after 75 years of occupation, ethnic cleansing massacre and theft committed by your government? The venue where the concert was held on October 7, 2023., That land is Palestinian land that was taken from them 1948 and again in 1956. It is an illegal land and occupation. Against every international law and United Nations resolutions. Every occupied people have the right to defend themselves and use all means to defend themselves. And occupier has no right for self-defense and to negotiate on a piece of land that they already stole…

Lo and behold, I have relatives with Palestinian, Lebanese, Jordanian and Syrian citizenship. We are one people. It is only for political reasons that we carefully endorse our Palestinian identity. Indeed, it is of national interest for the Arabs to encourage the existence of the Palestinians in the face of Zionism. Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity is only for tactical reasons. The establishment of a Palestinian state is a new means to continue the struggle against Israel and for Arab unity.” _- Zuheir Mohsen, PLO leader 1971-79_
“We didn't take a foreign land and we didn’t exist on the spoils of other nations, but on the lands of our fathers that through the years was illegally seized by our enemies. We, when we had the opportunity, restored our birthright.” _- Simon Maccabeus (135 AD)_
Simon Maccabeus led a Jewish army to defeat of the Seleucid Empire (Greek). This was prior to the migration of Arabs into Israel from Egypt, Jordan,Lebanon and Syria in the 7th century AD.
Archeologists have found pottery from the Philistine era (Greek). Gaza has a Roman cemetery. Gaza has mosaic flooring from the Byzantine era. Gaza has the ruins of a Christian monastery. In 1965 Egyptian archeologists found a synagogue mosaic in the Rimal District of Gaza City - with the inscription King "David" in Hebrew. You know what they have never found? They have never found any archeological evidence of Palestinians existing in the land until the 7th century and the conquering of Israel by the Islamic Rashidun caliphate Umar  (634-644)

Thank you for this interview Amy and I appreciate Neve for doing this research.
The aspect in regards to isolation of faces should be applied to finding combatants in which if used should have made rescuing hostages more effective as well as reducing deaths of innocent civilians-both are civilians. However, the issue is that the AI is being used to destroy. What should be used to minimize suffering is maximizing death-again to both sides. Why are Palestinians so important? Because they are part if humankind and have always been. We would have done it for the Israeli’s if this happened the other way and so it is the same that we support Palestinians as well. Both are human cultures and peoples-precious. What harm is done there is essentially done to us on the other side of the world. We are connected in nonmaterial ways. It is difficult to understand. Dont follow the politics as this will lead many astray from that
There is a seperation between a nation(s) and that which is called a human being. This conflict will continue to teach us this -and this is not what I see but I have known and read and witnessed others have seen.
Thank you again all, for all this work from the research to the journalism-I felt that I must make that clear from my heart
We are developing a new generation of people who will unquestionably reject the current career politicians and bring in themselves-future public servants. This will be at least one thing and perhaps it will lead to less violent and i say this with conviction less violent and kinetic warfare as this type will be decadent

@@waltermesser9737You must be a Zionist who believe and trust only Zionist propaganda from the Israeli’s government (which always lies), or you just follow sporadically the main stream media (which generally don’t correct their original mistakes)… it has been reported by investigative journalists from the West that “only” 1 children was shot through a door while his parents were hiding, and the other one was even not a baby, but a pregnant woman who was shot and had to have a cesarean procedure at a hospital… this was unsuccessful and they both died in the process. The “beheaded” and “burned” baby’s report was a lie (including the systematic women rape allegations), but a “great” PR fabricated by the members of the shady Zaka “organization”, followed by a “stamp of approval” by the Israeli government (a perfect propaganda opportunity and move for both) to provoke a reaction of hate against all Palestinians by Israelis and the entire world.
It succeeded at first, but was rapidly debunked and absolutely no proofs were found. If these stories were just imaginary, it could “just” be outrageous to accuse the Palestinians of such a barbaric behavior (even if the killing of civilians was criminal during their October 7th’s raid), but those stories happened during the first Nakba, in 1948, where Zionists killed many children and women that way, forcing even a father to throw his son in a brick oven, which he of course refused, and got killed with all the rest of his family (a story coming directly from Israeli/Zionist occupiers/soldiers/settlers who were there at that time, and were even smiling about it when telling their stories: sociopaths).
Q: So, who really are the monsters?
A: The Zionist Israeli occupiers settlers, including the IOF.
Jews who follow Judaism and have high respect to their ancestral culture are wonderful people.
But their Zionists counterpart are the opposite… they are part of the scum on Earth (like the Nazis) who believe they are superior to anybody on Earth, and that everybody should bow to them and everyone owes them “something”. That’s why real Jews (including survivors and descendants of the Holocaust), who are living all around the world, are against Zionism ideology, because it doesn’t represent Judaism and the real values of the ancestral Jewish culture, and they understand the suffering of the Palestinians, because they suffered from the same afflictions and dehumanization from a fascist group/government (or single uneducated people in the street).
Enough is enough of these lies, of this Zionist/fascist project and its obvious genocide towards Palestinians (which is following the steps of the Holocaust in WW2, and started right after WW2, “thanks” to the British and the US). If Israel (not its people, but its entire government and ruling laws, like apartheid), as a fake democratic state (like Russia), has to disappear to be finally and rightfully replaced by a Palestinian state, so be it!
      Free Palestine.

I'm afraid it's the shameless cruelty of Israel and Israelis. It's certainly convenient for some to blame this on Netanyahu, and morally comforting for others to do so. Certainly Israel's become a more conservative state since 1948. But it was birthed by the violence of Zionists, from the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem by Ben-Gurion's terrorist group that finally drove the British out, to the massacres of Tantura and other Palestinian villages and towns that drove the catastrophe. Perhaps there were periods after 1948 and before the 1st Intifada when some people, much more likely to be Israelis and foreigners, thought everything was hunky-dory, but they weren't the ones living without their own country with rights that attach to that, were they?

This is how you need to vote in November:
We must fully resist and _always vote_ against (& less authoritarian than) both the Democratic *and* Republican Parties- including Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Rand Paul (He’s _no_ Ron Paul), and all other Republicans.
For _all_ public positions. And this same strategy applies against the same one or more party-monopolies in _all_ countries worldwide.
Real libertarians will never be Republicans or Republican loyalists. You can always _write-in_ an anti-authoritarian person if no candidates for a position fit that bill.
This will continuously reduce the power of _all_ authoritarian parties in the party monopolies. Until our task is complete.
Repeat strategy for all new authoritarian parties that emerge.
