saw him drive at Western Springs Auckland NZ this Xmas. A very competent racer finishing in the top 3 several times plus a win in the main race one night.
If I show up at a track and I see Rico there, I am ecstatic. He is an out of this world driver, he drives every single lap like it is his last, and that is NO exaggeration.
I didn't know squat about Rico until last year, when I got to watch him at Watsonville(Ocean Speedway). He can definately drive, and now that I know him and Larson are good friends, I'm definately now an Abrue fan. Larson will make a run for the Cup title this year.
Jeff Rogers and nobody will be better than Schatz Kinser won in a day and age where cars where separated a lot and not all cars are competitive as they are now. All the top name guys have exact same equipment now it’s up to the driver and set up
@g03 nightmare simply not true. Steve was very communicative about how to setup his cars, and predicted track conditions better than any racer ever. When both schatz and kinser were racing in the late 90s early 2000s, steve was dominating over him and that was when all the technology was on a completely level playing field amongst the entire outlaw roster. Steve took advantage in the 70s and early 80s, however wolfgang and swindell were amazing dominant racers as well. Schatz has no dominant racers in their prime to contend with him. Jason Meyers was close but he retired young shortly after winning back to back seasons. In fact Donny didn't see his success until the greats of the passed were either in their late fifties, or were retired from the sport altogether. Kinser had to race in 60 up to 100 car race nights consistently while schatz is competing at tracks where only 30 cars or so show up, and some of the cars will even be running a 360 engine. Everyone used to always say karl kinser was the only reason steve was so historically dominant, but then when karl left to join mark kinser, steve ran the whole show himself. During that time in from 98 to 2006 he won 6 season titles in 8 years. He was in his fifties then. Shatz is an amazing driver backed by huge money in a much depleted racing field than what was seen in the late 80s, the entire 90s, and the early 2000s as well.
Rico , what a nice guy ! Easy to support a guy like that, has such a great smile !! Looks like a happy guy !!

Great that he has a fulltime NASCAR truck ride. Too bad he came up SHORT at Daytona. :-D
He looks like a young but slightly taller version of the guy from game of thrones.
Ray's wife
Was waiting for Larson to drop the hard R on em LOL
😂😂😂 its 2019 and he's changed.... not so humble anymore.... his time has come and gone...... just another seat warmer now.....
Oh, yeah? Please expand on your thoughts and be specific. Ready?
Go!
@@nascage Yeh, What a shame u couldnt see into the future. In the top 5 of drivers in 2024.
@@TassyDeval Exactly. Read the first comment calling Rico "just another seat warmer", without offering any evidence.
I'm on Rico's side, bud.
@@nascage Sorry dude. I was meant for it to respond to the first.
Midget cars or midget drivers? -All of the above.
