WHY ARE 10 YEAR OLDS TAKING OVER SEPHORA?

  • The Sephora Empire has fallen. District 10 yr. old has invaded and their troops have seiged the chain store formerly enjoyed exlusively by adults. Ground reporters have informed us that Sephora has run out of supplies necessary to sustain the crowd of rabid tweens banging on the doors outside. All Drunk Elephant, Glow Recipe, and Summer Fridays testers have been placed in locked safety chests in the back of the store until further notice. Rumors are spreading that a three-headed dog is now guarding a suspicious trap door which leads to an anti-aging skincare product that promises eternal youth.

I was so proud of my daughter because without second thought she walked right over there and started helping the kid who works there pick it up. They spent probably 5-10 minutes picking it up and putting it back together and when they were done the manager I guess, went up to my daughter and told her she could go over to the lip gloss case and pick out anything she wanted. My daughter even politely declined. When we got to the car I asked her why she didn’t go over there to pick something out and she said that she didn’t do it in hopes of getting something free. It is really up to the parents to curb this. I don’t have a problem with kids wanting to creatively experiment with makeup, but they can stick to the drug store and other kiddie stuff. And by makeup I mean playing around with lipstick and eyeshadow for fun, not to fit in or because they need it.

At 39 I definitely am seen a recent shift when I go in a place like Sephora. I actually was talking to an associate about finding a concealer that wouldn't settle into my fine lines and she goes like "oh honey, you're in your 20s, you're still young!" When I told her my real age she acted kind of shocked and started interacting with me very differently. I'm at the point where I don't particularly want to pass for younger than I am and certainly don't want people placing value on my ability to do so. 10 years ago I would have never thought I would have truly felt "old" at Sephora at the age I am now, but here we are. Sephora acts like they're all about inclusivity..as long as you're under 35.

Moms in America would sue a store if they put up a sign like that. Also the markup in stores like Sephora is so high, they’re kind of exploiting us all. Im just gonna say it again. Even if noone listens. This _VIDEO_, the _VIDEOS_ in the back. Its manipulation for children to remember the brand "Sephora" and make the children want "Sephora". That's all. Its doesn't matter what they buy. Lip balm, skin care, mascara, perfume. THE VIDEOS, this and the ones inside this video is all to make children See the word "Sephora" see people in their age at "Sephora" and you also see someone telling. "Its the parents fault".
The undertone message is "Its the parents fault they cannot afford 500, 700 dollars" to buy products that children don't need. But we can manipulate children to enjoy it because we repeatable show children and our products, and the brand "Sephora".
The people to blame - in fact - is the one we see in this video. Namely "Kiki", namely "the authors of the small videos", the children who probably are actors inside the small videos".
Those are to blame. Because they feed on uneducated children to get to their parents wallet. That is all.
Because - Kiki and the small videos authors _MONEY_ comes from Sephora and advertisements business. So they get a small percentage to handle their daily expenses. While Sephora are making extremely much money sells very expensive, overpriced products too people who doesn't understand what a product really mean.
_ALSO_ isn't it weird while talking in the small videos they putting on makeup - the boy and girl? Why? To show their products on repeat. That's why they do it. Would it help that they do it? No... They are washing it off after. And then use whatever they used before. --- Its so horrible and lack of empathy towards parents, children by people more or less controlled by cooperation's.
_THIS_ is something we adult can notice. When you see bad weather outside. But you say its a good weather because you going on a walk with friends that day.
You say something. But inside you know its not true. But its for a cause to benefit you. -- That is how adult talks.
lying - is part of being an adult human. But its also part of understanding the world enough to see through the lies. Which a child don't comprehend.
_THE_ truth is these companies are run by people that don't need the _MONEY_ they get. They either use money for stuff to compensate other lacks in life. Like ... Missing out friends for working overtime, having children with problems / mental issues / physical issues that cause them to only focus on get _MONEY_ as not much is important to them. The heartless droids are controlling employers (like Kiki, the video authors, the children actors in the video) etc to suck as much _MONEY_ out of consumers (parents with naïve children) with no sense of moral implications or empathy.
That is sort of the truth why these videos exist.

If Sephora doesn't put an age restriction on their stores, they're going to lose their adult clients, which is the client base that's kept them in business for so long. The 10 year olds are going to move on to something else in maximum 3 years, and by that point the adult clients will have found other makeup stores to shop at. it’s going to be crazy seeing these kids as teenagers trying to reverse the damage they’ve done to their skin, as someone who suffered from hormonal acne from 12-26, I wouldn’t wish acne on anyone, it’s such a horrible experience especially as a teenager

I was thinking this. If they are using retinol-can it actually affect their fertility in the long term? Anyone medically trained know?
I work in healthcare, but I’m not trained in dermatology-not even close to it.

I’m so sorry about your struggle with acne. My son struggles with it, and so did his dad. I suspect there’s a genetic component.
My acne was not bad, and I had it as an adult. I didn’t use any thing except OTC cheap stuff. My son needed prescription medication-I’m not sure if he still uses medicine. (He’s an adult, married).

YES! I was so outraged and scared by them using these chemicals and acids (even mixing them/using them daily?!?), that it didn't even occur to me another way they're causing extra damage until she mentioned SPF. These products make the skin very photosensitive and penetrate deep into the cells. Because of that, you're supposed to wear high spf sunscreen and sunblock. Which they're not doing. The fallout from that is going to take even more work to fix, if you even can to begin with.

Oh you bet. Its gonna be like the vaping/juul epidemic all over again with their chemical-damaged skins.

I’m there with you. I started at 14 though and my hormones really messed me up. I got on BC and tried sooo many products to get rid of acne. It’s much better now than it was, but I still get breakouts at times. I’m thinking about getting my hormone levels checked.

“No children allowed in store without an accompanied adult. All parents will be responsible for any damage of property or product inside of store with or without supervised children.” They may lose some business, but that business that you lose, you probably didn’t want anyway.

@blink182izawsm absolutely nobody should ever beat their children, period. but these kids do still need to be disciplined. theres a healthy in-between of beating as punishment and utter lack of authority/control, and unfortunately not nearly enough parents understand that or use healthy parenting techniques. its so frustrating seeing the parents of these bratty kids refusing to take responsibility or put their foot down because theyre more focused on being their kid’s friends.

I’m a single dad and trust me my baby girl is my entire world but learning how to tell your kids no and teaching respect is one of the best things you can do for kids imo. I refuse to let my daughter turn into some superficial little chatterbox with absolutely no respect for anyone. Keep up all the hard work parents out there still practicing responsibilities and consequences. 🤙

exactly! It's only going to hurt children in the long run when you don't teach them no.

Keep it up! That girl will have way more confidence because of a dad who respects and loves her than she would ever get from a product. I have worked with enough young women to be sure of this
