    Very good video. I’ve been a member at LCS for 3.5 years. Thanks for showcasing this beautiful place which also serves the Mexican community.
    Chapala is 👍🇲🇽. I’ve uploaded 100’s of videos all over Lakeside and make personal contributions to the communities there. A great place

    Very nicely done. Would love to see more comparisons with other popular cities or towns. For example, Mexico city and Guadalajara etc.

    We chose Chapala over Ajijic. We didn't have a car so we bought electric bikes. So easy to get everywhere in Chapala!

    I was wondering if you could do a video on both Puerto Morales and Puerto Vallarta which I heard are both beautiful and close to the beach.

    Wow, those rentals in Ajijic are really high. But, I guess you pay for the climate, and having all the other American and Canadian expats living next to you. I personally wouldn't adapt to a place like that. In many ways it sounds like a lot of places in the south of Spain (Torremolinos, Estepona, Marbella) although there the expats are British and not American. Many don't speak a word of Spanish and don't even need to.

      Ajijic isn't for everyone. Lots of places in Mexico that are more authentically Mexican too.
      The same way that Ajijic is attractive for the large expat community.
      There's something for everyone in Mexico

    If you live in Chapala and drive to Ajijic, are there places to park.? Many seniors have health problems which prohibit long walks.

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there are parking places. Ou may have to drive a while to find one but there are plenty of spaces
      Although walking is best in Ajijic

    My wife and I were down there recently and kept hearing a bird that had a loud yelp...almost like a loud single child cry. That sound is mimicked by us when we are trying to find each other at the supermarket 😅. It has stayed in our heads for years after we left chapala. Unfortunately, we never found out what the bird is called or looked like. It was usually heard by us when we were near the mountains coming from the jungle area. Any idea what this bird is named?

    Great video! Question - if Chapala is only 6 miles from Ajijic, why would it take 20 mins to drive there?

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because there is very heavy traffic

    Is it possible to find 1 bedroom rentals in Chapala for $250 USD per month?

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possible yes. But it might take you longer because that’s probably a small inventory. It might also not be an entire condo or casita it might be a studio

    The streets in Ajijic are so narrow you can have your wing mirror ripped off on telephone poles. Speaking from experience.

    I have lived here for 5 years. I don't know of anyone who have broken their ankles.
    I think your mentioning that many women have broken their ankles is very negative and would put off people who would otherwise consider this area.
    Do you actually have any statistics on this issue ?
    Otherwise, it was a nice video.

      I’ve lived here 14 years. While I don’t know anyone who’s broken an ankle I know of one person who broke their shoulder and three others who are missing teeth from falling while walking those picturesque cobbled streets.

      It's not bad to be honest. When I visited Ajijic I brought two pairs of shoes - one with a chunky heel (not high) and the second pair were flat. After the first day I no longer wore the heels at all. And I fell because some of the sidewalks are slightly uneven. Sure, that could happen anywhere, but the cobblestones can definitely be a challenge. It's a good thing it doesn't rain a lot!

    In the USA 2 1/2 bedrooms with a family room, one bath-R is only $750 per month.

    Having recently visited this area, I can say that it is boring at best, and a lot of it is backward and falling apart! Nothing is worth the effort involved in getting there.
