Try putting your raw chips into a bowl and pour boiling water over them. Leave to stand for 5 minutes, drain and pat dry then air fry in the usual way. I picked this up from a TH-cam channel, chips are much nicer this way.🤗

I chop onions, peppers, sweet potatoes, mushrooms & aubergines, spray with a couple of squirts of olive oil spray and toss together, tip it all in the basket, top with a few chiploatas, air fry for 10 mins on 190, pull out basket, give it a shake, add some sliced halloumi on top and air fry for another 10 mins😋

I've upgraded to a twin basket air fryer, even though I'm single. It has replaced my toaster oven.
My most used small appliance. In addition to what you have shown, I make crispy skin chicken parts, whole potatoes, sausage, pork chops, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, crispy stuffing balls, baked pasta and more. You did a great demo!

I love my air fryer! My biggest money waste is ordering food when I’m busy or it’s late and we’re hungry. I’m just not a great meal planner. Now, I have a couple go to recipes in the air fryer that are so fast and easy that save me on those days.

Seriously impressed with my new airfryer this morning, who'd have ever imagined hard boiled Eggs from an airfryer?? Eggs in on the rack, 15 mins on 130°, plunge egg into cold water once cooked, then peel shell. Perfectly cooked hard boiled Eggs! Gamechanger for me. No more boiling pans of water to watch over 👍

One thing I always do is buy the grease proof paper with holes or add holes in the paper before adding to the air fryer. That way air can circulate from the bottom as well.

@@gaylmanton6259 sorry this happened to you. But it is a great message for others. Due to the high fan speed it does say to not use paper in the machine. Even foil has to be weighted down. I use silicone mats or trays. And have Pyrex dishes too. Glad you were ok. Must have been a shock!

As a lone father raising two kids, an air fryer has been a life saver. A couple of years ago, my former employer had bought me a Ninja Foodi Indoor Grill/Air Fryer. I’ve cooked everything in it from Asparagus to Zucchini. I rather enjoy having the ability to cook meats in it, such as steak or chicken, whenever the weather is too bad to grill. I especially like to use it to cook salmon. Generally salmon is always cut similarly thick and you can fry it with consistency. I like to season it with lemon pepper, use a medium grill setting and grill it about 12 to 14 minutes or till whenever it is finished. Then I’ll pop some asparagus in afterword, and season it with lemon pepper. A very quick, high quality meal that’s only as costly as your ingredients, providing you can find salmon on sale or at a discount.

I have a Cosori air fryer and I love it - I use it more than I would have ever thought. It saves me so much time as well as money on electricity, my oven takes ages to preheat so I really appreciate the time savings. Also, since I'm almost always just cooking for me, having a smaller sized appliance is perfect. One of the things I use it for most often is frozen veg, I'll toss it with a bit of oil and seasoning and then pop it in the air frying (I use the frozen food button which is approx. 350 degrees, 10 min, with a shake half way through). It comes out so tasty and perfect. I hope you continue to enjoy your Cosori! Happy New Year!!!

We only bought into the air fryer thing a few months ago to help reduce fat intake but it's become our 'go to' way to cook things. If our house was robbed and I could only replace one cooking object, I would definitely choose my air fryer. There's only two of us and I'd say we now put the main oven on about twice a month if that. I can see our electric bill has reduced. In my view, investment in an air fryer and making some space for it on a work top is worth it. We got one by 'Instant' and really like it. Frozen croissant dough is amazing baked in it, cup cake/muffins (I use reusable silicon cases) are wonderfully puffed up and light, heating up things like fish fingers, veggie sausages etc is so easy, baked cauliflower and other veggies gives them a nice roasted flavour. I don't think you need two trays but I would recommend getting one with a reasonably large pan - at least 5 litres and above. Great video, thanks for sharing - got some good ideas for more air fryer dinners. Happy New Year to you both and the doggies x

I have a Ninja with the 2 drawers- I hardly use my main oven anymore! I don’t use paper in it as it can fly up on the heating element and catch fire - anyway the non stick surface makes it easy to clean. Cheap things like chicken wings are brilliant- even boiling eggs is quicker and easier then in a pot on the stove. I’ve roasted a small whole chicken in it and done the roast potatoes in the other drawer at the same time - a real game changer! Saves loads of time and money 😊

@@maryspender-tr7ix I have only tried hard boiled eggs so far - average is airfry for 15 minutes on 275F/135C - but it depends on the size of the eggs and whether or not they have been refrigerated- so a bit hit and miss but if you always get the same sized eggs you will soon get it right. My ninja multicooker has an air fryer function and I do use it and am happy with things I cook in it. My problem with having yet another small appliance, I have a small kitchen so my problem is storing all the different appliances. I do like appliances that have more than one function, I will be interested to see future videos when you show the other functions. I was undecided about buying an instant pot for the same reason but when I bit the bullet and invested some gift money on an instant pot when they came on offer on Amazon I have found that I do really use most of the function. I have passed my slow cooker on to my brother so that solved my storage issues as it now lives in the place the slow cooker lived😊.

Such a timely video for me personally, i took delivery of an airfryer on 28th Dec, never had one before. Got a bargain price too and have today ordered one for my daughter, at 15% off the bargain price i paid for my own! I have used silicone liner pans in mine, 3 of them were less than £10 and fit perfectly. They stop any mess in the bottom. So far, so good. Just wish I'd taken the plunge and bought one much earlier as its been a revelation 👍

I already own a Cosori air fryer but it’s a 2 QT size which is just big enough for 2 people. I love mine because reheated food really tastes and cooks better in an air fryer. I “fry” my meat, fish and bean burgers in it and I love how the fat drips underneath the grill screen so my foods don’t sit in it. The 2 downsides: even though I look at it everyday I forget to use it and it is so quiet I sometimes forget I’ve turned it on. Highly recommend this brand and when I’ve gotten used to using I will upgrade to a bigger one. Thanks for the video Jane this will help me with mt air fryer usage.

I dearly love my air fryer/steamer/multi cooker! I can't remember the last time I used my oven. The best is dry beans, because you don't have to soak them, or cook for hours. Also, pressure cooking cuts of meat that are normally tough, makes the same cut so tender!

Our regular oven is nearly 40 years old and on its last legs so this was the compromise. I haven't tried to do much with it to date. Can't praise mine enough Jane. I've never been a person whose bought all the latest gadgets, but 5 years on, I can honestly say, this has been one of the best purchases I've ever made. Apart from the money saving aspect, everything is cooked so quickly and tastes really nice. After seeing it online, I also roast tinned potatoes. I drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with paprika, salt, pepper and anything else I fancy. Usually takes between 15-20 minutes, or when fully roasted, but it's an easy alternative to the real thing. In particular, I like mine with a roast/stews. I also find my airfryer handy for cooking fish, chips and mushy peas together, using ramekins for each portion of peas. Stews, scones, cakes have all turned out well for me. I did find that buying a couple of the accessories for mine enabled me to use it in even more ways. Liked your tortilla idea and the other meals looked lovely too. Anyway, so glad you like it. Thank you and wishing you both a very Happy New Year.....🥂🤗

We have had a few different ones, and now have a Kaloric counter top convection oven that has french doors, and an air fry basket. We love it. It can either be an air fryer or a convection/regular oven, with many settings to choose from. We even roasted chestnuts for Christmas dinner in it. It uses so much less electricity. The reason why we chose this model is because I can bake 2 pizzas at once, and use most of my pans in it. It has 3 levels and came with 5 accessories. I got it from Costco online for $169 USD. We absolutely love it. I rarely turn on our big oven. A big advantage is we can cook small amounts of foods without heating up the big oven. I hope you enjoy your new air fryer ! 😘❄☃🎉Happy New Year!😘❄☃🎉

Had my Cosori a year ago. But I’ve had an air fryer for a good 20 years from when Tefal brought out their round one with a stirrer. Always did potatoes in it, butternut squash and sausages. Often did double amounts of roasties, saving half for the freezer. They reheat from frozen in a very short time. The pan configuration of the Cosori is different but great and means more meats work in it well and it does preheat very quickly. I did buy a small cake pan size dish for it and a small tray billed as a pizza pan mainly to avoid spills.

Wrap large potatoes individually in a square of kitchen roll. Microwave for 5 mins remove paper and a skewer should just slide in brush with olive oil and a grinding of salt place in air fryer at 200’c for about 6 mins give them a shake and another minute for crispy skin jackets with really fluffy soft middles. All size potatoes work but large jackets take forever in a traditional oven

My son got me one for Christmas, so I've been looking on TH-cam for simple things to cook in it.
Apparently, if you soak your potatoes and pat dry before oiling them, they taste better. I don't know if it's worth the extra work, but you might want to give it a go.
I've used mine to make Pizza Pops and grilled cheese sandwiches. I noticed the time and temp on the cooking chart was the same for four baked potatoes and four chicken thighs, so I cooked two of each together. It turned out lovely.
You don't need to buy special pans to use inside, anything you have that fits and is oven safe will do. I've taken the handle off a small pot I never use so I can make fried eggs and other sloppy items.
I haven't put it in my dishwasher yet, since a simple wipe out, once cooled, seems to do the trick, even for melted cheese, and a quick wash in the sink preserves the non-stick coating. I have a silicone brush to spread oil with, but, so far, haven't added any.

We have an air fryer attachment that goes on our pressure cooker and we love it. And it's made 3 appliances into one. We no longer have a toaster. We don't need a separate air fryer, and I still have the pressure cooker. My only negative is they don't cook large quantities of food. But for two people they're perfect. I use mine in some capacity every single day. You can even cook chicken, pork, anything really.

I had one of the early Ninja air fryer first and loved it for all the basics of "frying" and roasting. It did not keep its heat efficiency over time, though. I replaced it with an Instant Pot Vortex Airfryer which has outperformed the Ninja since the beginning. More even heat distribution, faster cooking, easier to clean and larger basket size. Love the airfryer!!

I need to update my air fryer!!! Mine is one of the first ones they made and only has a air fry mode, would love to have a roast and bake mode also. Now I'm not going to look for a mini oven that will take up so much counter space. I'll just update my air fryer with extra functions. Wonderful video and I really hope you keep us updated with what you are using it for.

I’m in Australia and I love love love my airfryer.
Don’t use the regular oven now.
I had to replace my faulty oven/cooktop several months back and I’ve never used the oven.
My airfryer is a 3.4L cheapy from the Catch website and I paid $37 au with free delivery. Fabulous. I was very happy with that.
Airfryer going strong after a year of daily use. I do everything at 160 oC and adjust the time around that temperature.
My previous (expensive) airfryer lasted several years and was used multiple times a day.

Lol it made me smile that they sent you a list of things to say,😊 I've resisted buying one, because I've a beautiful double oven cooker that I've really taken care of and it wasnt cheap 'ive just been looking at a corsori airfryer a smaller one I've got a voucher to spend that I got for Xmas from work so your review is timely you have to be mindful as they get very hot at the back and will burn if its touching a surface. My friends rave about them and use them all the time . The reason why I'm thinking of one is that my husband and son will often pop one or 2 things in the oven when I'm working and it is a waste of energy and money.

we bought a Ninja air fryer last year - its brill, even baked cakes in it - also handy to take away in our motorhome as the van oven takes so long to get to heat on bottled gas, its all done in the AF in less time, great burgers, sausage, chicken wings, and yes we've done the toasted sandwiches, - soooo easy :-)

  • @BrittanyLucy
    @BrittanyLucy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

We've had ours a couple of years now, still really enjoying it. It's a Cosori too but a smaller, simpler model.
Various observations - keep it out and handy, if you put it away in a cupboard you won't use it enough, they are quite bulky and unwieldy. I thought a long time, made space on the counter top and reorganised things around it before taking the plunge and buying, but they don't seem to put out much heat from the top, less than a toaster, so I don't think you have to worry much about cupboards above, though I do pull it out towards the front of the counter to use it.
I got lured into buying a kit of accessories, only some of which were useful. The silicone mat is great, both to protect the air fryer basket itself (the non-stick coating is easily damaged, other Cosori users observed this), and to rest the basket on when it's hot to protect the counter top (though you can't do both at once, so maybe get two!); the deep cake pan, though it's a nice one, I don't use much (more on baking later), nor the silicone mini muffin moulds or the wire racks. Keep a note, mental or otherwise, of the measurements of your air fryer, and maybe a tape measure on your person, so when browsing at vides, Emmaus, thrift shops or wherever you can pick up handy vessels which will fit into it! Being just two of us, I already had quite a few smallish baking dishes and tins which do, but the most useful thing I bought for it was a set of five small shallow cake pans from Lakeland (designed to make multi coloured layered sponge cakes!) which are great to just put small amounts in, they don't block the cooking heat, are fairly non-stick and save having to wash the whole basket (yes, I can get it in the dishwasher, but I can't get much else in with it!), and you can use one after another without having to wash up in between.
It is quite a dry form of cooking, so the things which work best are those which tend to go a bit soggy with other methods, courgettes, sweet potatoes etc. They are best, and quickest, when cooked directly in the basket, but then you have to wash up the whole thing, and you can do them in a tin or foil. I like most forms of potatoes done in it, but my husband swears the roasties are not quite as good as those done in the conventional oven, where they sit in the fat and stay more moist. Funnily enough, oven chips are brilliant in it, and very quick! For jacket potatoes, best to start them in the microwave and finish them in the AF. Likewise, gratin or shepherds pie type things, where everything's already cooked, if starting from cold, preheat them in the microwave first and crisp up the tops in the AF.
As you mention, the heat is primarily from the top, and the value of it is to get as much hot air circulating in as close contact as possible to the food, so anything which blocks the heat, deep heavy cake pans, thick baking dishes, impedes its effectiveness. For this reason I don't find it ideal for baking (though it might be that your model is better), and there is a tendency to the dreaded soggy bottoms! However, I have devised tricks for flipping things over to make sure the bottom gets browned too.
Also, I think it's worth getting an oil spray, to coat the basket lightly before and sometimes to add a bit mid-cooking if things are getting too dry.
Hope you don't mind me writing a novel, you did ask if we had any hacks!😄

I have a combination toaster oven/regular oven/air fryer. I NEVER use my regular oven except if I have something that won’t fit in my multi-device. It’s a bit bigger than a regular size toaster oven (you can fit a full size pizza in it). Looove it. We have a gas range and save SO much money this way. Frozen convenience foods (example: French fries) take half the time on air fry mode. Cooks regular oven food beautifully-although I do a turn halfway though just because the cooking isn’t perfectly even. I would highly recommend a combination machine like this. It also toasts! So it’s 4 devices in one. Talk about saving counter space! It’s an investment-I think this cost about 100 USD but there are ‘nicer’ more expensive ones you can buy. Great review Jane and thank you!

I use my Ninja to cook small pastries and lovely muffins as well as for frying and roast potatoes and vegetables etc. Now I rarely use my main oven. The only problem I had was using the wrong potatoes for chips - I only had the “vapeur” variety on hand and they really were not suitable for chipping. Too hard. So now I make sure I have either general purpose potatoes or those specifically for frites.

I have 2 air fryer’s, one small & one large. They are a game changer on cook time & clean up.
I love doing sweet potato fries dusted with cinnamon in them.
And I do roasted cauliflower in my large air fryer. Break the cauliflower florets up in a bowl, add a very small amount of water or oil, add your choice of spices, stir and pour in the basket of the air fryer. Cook til crisp. I add these to my salads as a crouton substitute.

I had an air fryer similar to that one, I gave it away after buying a mini oven and air fryer combo unit.

Another plus for your new air fryer is that depending on the capacity of your solar generator you should be able to use it to power the air fryer during power outages.

I have a very small air fryer. I really like it for cooking fresh vegetables from the garden with a tiny bit of oil. It's really good for reheating grilled sandwiches, like Ruebens. I can usually only eat half of one because they're so big. My son has since given me his combo microwave/air fryer/convection oven because he had no room for it, but I'll keep using my little air fryer until it dies on me. It is only an air fryer, though, and only has one temperature: 400 degrees Farenheit.
