  • This is why I bought this car, to make it rearrange my organs with grip. Power is next. Thanks to my good friend and Miata guru Glade for helping me build this car and advise on parts, etc. It all works as a system now, and it's awesome. Here's the mod list as it sits:
    949Racing Gen1 XIDA coilovers 550/350 springs
949 Racing SuperMiata sway bar kit
    949 Racing 15x9 6UL Wheels

The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah."
I'm also the producer for the Winding Road TH-cam Channel:
    / windingroadmagazine
Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly test vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, you'll see! Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

    1. You drive stick really well
    2. Your Miata is super clean, from a condition standpoint to a literal cleanliness standpoint. That black paint is so fresh!
    3. You make me want to buy a Miata. Good job.

Umm, no. Why does he downshift instead of just using the brakes? Only stupid people do that. It just creates wear on engine and transmission when changing brakes is cheaper than repairing engine and transmission.

0faewfewa Downshifting the way he does is better for the clutch, it’s called rev-matching. Also, when the engine is warmed up this doesn’t hurt the engine or transmission at all. Perhaps you’re not into cars or something like that, it’s difficult to understand why we do these things.

This video also makes me realize how we take SoCal roads for granted. You have to use freeway onramps to test your car. We just go to canyons or mountains. I highly recommend getting a dished wheel or hub extender. Bringing the steering wheel closer to you transforms the feeling of the car. Well worth it. Also, with all the grip upgrades won't the increased load wear out the rubber suspension bushings more quickly? Or have you already planned to upgrade those?
