The 2023 Bentley Bentayga Is As Insane As You Think...

- What should you buy if the budget for your next SUV could stretch to half a mil? Well, when we're talking big bucks the world is your oyster. You could snag a Cullinan from Rolls Royce, but that seems so "LA." Ditto a Lambo Urus. If you prefer more of an old money vibe, only the Bentley will do. Join me as I review a car that stickered for more than the 13 acres I parked it on to film it.

Soooo. The wrong version of this video accidentally went up. My bad. The scores in the drive section should have all been “?”. Why? Because I’m pretty sure no Bentley shopper really cares how comparisons and scores line up….😂
Wow. Sloppy work.
Thanks for the clarification.
Alex, The timing of this video is absolutely perfect. I had just narrowed down my two final new car choices to one Bentley Bentayga or 19.4375 Nissan Versas. 😉😂🤣
Juat 19?
@@AAutoBuyersGuide I double checked .😁
But why not 15.4 Nissan Sentras?
Or 19.4375 Corolla 😂
Or about 4 f150 platinums. That hits a little too close to home.
Glad you got to drive a Bentley Alex! I hope you had fun! You do a lot for us average car shoppers and i am glad to see you got to have a bit of fun. But i won't lie, i'd take the 13 acres and a RAV4 instead of the Bentley!
All that extra money but still get the same chimes as an Audi
And looks much worse
Not comparable, but it looks a lot like the Genesis GV80. I guess I know where Genesis got their inspiration from.
Which is a good thing. After all the designer of Genesis, Sang Yup Lee, used to work for Bentley
You have a bad edit around 9 minutes you duplicated two takes talking about the same thing.
The depreciation on these is insane, you already can get used ones for $90k.
I’m looking into an used one. And yes. I like the idea.
Whar year?
Why only B+ for such a "softly sprung" ride? What else in this class drives that much better? I suppose the Range Rover and Rolls Royce.
Curious indeed, post review shoot review maybe. Also 114 ft stopping distance as tested in review, but seems 107ft detected later, before editing.
That car looks spectacular as usually expected from Bentley
But that also goes for the gv80
What does the GV80 have to do with a Bentley video? 😂
@@alwaysiyi272 they look so similar.
Every time one sees a gv80 they think it’s a Bentley
@@naveenthemachineso true. I live next to a wealthy town and most of the time when I thought that gv80 looks good, it turns out to be a Bentley. Didn’t realize these were $300k cars. Crazy!
Why luxurious car brands do not know how to design an SUV?
Some don’t I agree but most do. Bmw Mercedes Audi Genesis Mazda Acura Lincoln Infiniti Cadillac Jeep Hyundai Kia Honda design attractive SUVs.
Ironically, the Genesis GV80 is better styled.
I like the RR Cullinun better. It's much better looking in my opinion.
B is for Breitling (a luxury swiss watch company). Has exactly the same winged logo and ‘B’.
I'm glad that Alex is finally a nice car. I'm so sick and tired of seeing mass market, affordable daily transportation 🤣
Am I the only one who misses the Bentley Mulsanne?
Great job making it relatable!
Can I request amber indicators on an American Bentayga?
This feels so much like a fancy Audi.
As a retired chauffeur. (1965 RR P5) I appreciate this video. If it were used in black car service, a divider window might be in order. I give it 2 👍🏼👍🏼
How would the vehicle and interior compare to the Flying Spur? Always thought those had so much presence and could have similar amounts of room to stretch out after your long flight on your private Bombarier 5000.
Jada P. Smith has a Blacked out EWB version. She was showing it on that red table show last year.
Kinda humorous to see the rear footrest not functioning which plays into either British or VAG electrical problem stereotype.
Finally reviewing Bentley! Love it.
There's luxury vehicles.... and then there's LUXURY vehicles. Damn.
Amazing video Alex.
Thanks!
@@AAutoBuyersGuideYou're welcome.
9:30 - Alex, you're repeating a section.
Oh poop.
Alex I hope to see more luxury vehicles like this on the channel
My favorite thing about this car is that after about a year, you can get them for $150,000
My neighbors would chop off my head if I drove that home
"Let them eat cake"
Goldfrapp - nice :)
The 2025 gv80 coupe is better and looks nothing like the ugly Bently
Is that an “LCD” instrument cluster (as you stated) or an “LED” display? I was thinking most modern cars are using LED displays now but maybe I’m confused?
LCD is the color shifting technology, LED is the backlight technology. This is most likely a normal LED LCD Display like 99% of other displays out there.
@@xFreeland1 Thanks for clarifying!
LED backlight LCD is the norm, but some companies are used OLED displays now and we call them out when appropriate.
Great video
That rear end is hideous
How much does an oil change cost on this vehicle?
It is hideous. The ultimate compensation device.
The silly comments here! On the road Bentley is the boss, one can just feel it. Alex was very clear: this and the Rolls as well as the Urus are for the super rich who do not give a damn about maintenance costs or insurance premiums. I am a big fan of the GV80 - love that suv- but let’s not try to pretend the Genesis is in the same luxury category as the Bentley.
A Fancy Fancy Atlas
Wrong. The bentayga doesn’t share underpinnings or drivetrains or fwd platforms with the atlas. That would be inexcusable if it did
How about a Bentley minivan??!! 🤣
It got 13 mpg.....and it got an A? I don't fully understand that one. I mean if you can afford it, the price of gas to fill it doesn't matter at all. But it isn't an A lol. More like a D-
The wrong version of this video went up. The scores were supposed to be all question marks, because does any of it matter?
$300,000 crossover...
"IM DRIVING DA BENTLEY BENTAYGA LIKE ION LOVE MY LIFE"
I just watched Micah do a family review on the Lambo Urus, and now this pops up. What the heck is going on?
lol. I’m glad you got a chance to drive an ultra luxury vehicle. Sounds like a nice week at work. 😂
With the engine downgrade it’s more just an Audi than ever. They’re also going for under sticker
Genesis GV80 Coupe all day long
Is this a record for the most expensive vehicle Alex has reviewed?
“Family logo”? You mean “family crest” surely, you know, the design created by heraldic genealogists centuries ago that adorns the keystone of the entrance arch of your castle.
Not really, because you could cook up your own logo in 2023 and I refuse to call that a “family crest” if you just whipped it up to celebrate your stock grant hitting it big 😂
@@AAutoBuyersGuide What, NEW MONEY!? 😄
These things are incredibly underwhelming in person as far as exterior styling. Looks like a Volkswagen. Of all the VW group Uber SUVs the best looking are the Porsche models imo.
It doesn't look like a luxury vehicle. Looks like a Pimped out Volkswagen Atlas. The inside is nice, though
No it doesn’t. The VW atlas looks like a VW but this looks like a typical Bentley
Saw one in person and I get why rappers and athletes love it.
It's not so much the cost of purchase. It's the humongous depreciation, combined with maintenance and insurance costs that hit you. It's sobering to know that some extremely rich people choose to purchase their vehicles second-hand little-used and of less glamorous brands, e.g., Lexus, even Lincoln… Come to think of it, this is why, perhaps, they're extremely rich still. Musk, I believe, drives a Tesla.
When he’s not on his jet which is way way more expensive to keep around…
@@AAutoBuyersGuide The average depreciation rate for a private jet is 25% over five years. What's the number for a Bentayga? A five year depreciation rate for luxury cars is between 62% for a BMW 7 Series and 54% for a Range Rover.
25% is the typical tax depreciation , actual depreciation will vary. The cost structure for jets is far more than depreciation and is going to be much much higher over 5 years than a fleet of Rolls Royces.
I like the car , maybe next life and I’m rich 🤑 😂
$311k Audi SUV...😂
Audis a luxury brand so… that’s totally okay
@@naveenthemachine Not for $300+k, it's not.
The real question is do you drive it like you don't love your life
but its just a VW Toureg in drag ....
But the toureg is VWs flagship suv. It doesn’t reuse VW Jetta or Passat platforms. It uses Porsche Audi drivetrains transmissions and a RWD based AWD system
@@naveenthemachine No buts … it’s just a Touareg/Cayenne/Q7/8/Urus… whatever in drag. Platform cars and an embarrassment to be wearing that badge
Bentley CR-V
Can we just pause for a minute and let's talk about the beginning part of this beautiful video the part of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of that 1% that can afford a car like that like I love making money but oh my God have we gotten to that point were cars actually cost this much money. It's SUV sport utility vehicle Where's the utility??
What a hardship to drive the Bentley, first world problems !
Not as insane as someone who spends this kind of money on a depreciating asset. There is no one worth impressing with it, imho. It looks too much like a Q7 in the rear quarters. Sorry. Thanks for the review.
Alex, enjoying your Bentley review. At $311k, I'd be afraid to drive on a twisty mountain road. ⛰️
Front end isnt great
The only SUV more hideous than a Bentayga is a Cullinan.
Front looks like a communist era Russian car, the Volga.
Too much chrome, I had to take it off my shopping list.
This is just for folks, who want to say, “I make way, way more money than you do!
More like the fake rich, posers.
Real rich people don’t drive this. They drive the more classic expensive cars and keep a generic luxury brand car as daily.
So expensive but doesn't even get an "A" on ride comfort lol
Well. Genesis has its facelift design ready. Hyundai engineers have some work to do now to copy this design.
Honestly feel this car already looks dated. The Cullinan though hideous looks like it'll age better.
Not a fan of the horrid green color
If you want to be afraid to drive your car.
This is a gargantuan battle between Bentley and BMW to make the ugliest car, and I just can't call it.
BMW, by far. By light years.
This Bentley is gorgeous.
No vehicle is worth $300k. Sorry.
This is still one of the ugliest cars on the road.
To me, this is Waaaaay too similar looking to a VW SUV and is overpriced. The Range Rover looks better.
What a crap value. A Genesis G90 looks 3x as luxurious for 1/3 of the price.
Look! A Genesis GV80 knockoff!
It’s the other way around, it came out before Genesis…
When in fact the gv80 is the true knockoff 😂
Alex: a lot of inconsistencies in your review. I think you switched the grades for Handling and Ride and despite that the Kia Telluride you just reviewed got much better gas mileage you gave it a C- and this car an A. It should have been a D or F. Also, you seem smitten by the price tag. Honestly, it's an ugly vehicle and shows that VW really should give up on thinking it can make a luxury vehicle. Look at the Phaeton. Anyway, not up to your usual objective standards.
This isn’t a telluride competitor so the rankings aren’t comparable.
Lousy gas mileage is lousy gas mileage. To pretend otherwise is not credible.@@AAutoBuyersGuide
this car front looks ugly
A very ugly car. Even the interior isn't anything special.
B IS FOR BAD AS IN JUNK!
Ent. Prod. 2039
Very impressive when Bentley reaches out you 🫣 sew you that Alex saying to the rest of the TH-cam car reviewers 👋👋👋 by guy's 😂😂
