I've been using Halide for only about 2 months and it's incredible what work you guys have done! Keep it up! p.s. Any thoughts on allowing LUTs in realtime or video options?
@@Rexyspride Hey Mr Pride! Lovely to hear from you. All good thanks. You too I hope? Miss the old days of beta testing Mattebox for Mr Syverson, still in touch with Eugene though which is nice and Ben now and again.
@@simonharper8978 All good here thanks! Man, those days feel like an eternity ago. I was just looking at the comments and though hey, I recognise that owl!
We’ll wait for his answer however I would like to share that I’ve used iPhone 14 Pro underwater without a case, on multiple occasions, without an issue. You just have to wait for a few hours before you can recharge your phone. Just wanted to share 😊
Merci pour cette vidéo très intéressante. Vous semblez annoncer une prochaine vidéo sur la façon de traiter une photo brute dans Lightroom ? Passionnant.
I'm thankful that the camera technology has come such a long away that pretty much all of the recent mobile phones can take good/great images and video. Until you can actually swap out glass on these phones I don't think they'll ever completely replace a dull size camera but for social media it might now matter.
I am not referring to the creation of content that doesn't exist. Instead, I am considering the advancements in technology related to pixel enlargement. In terms of 'authenticity,' I have never witnessed the shallow depth of field characteristic of an F1.2 aperture. Neither have I experienced a scene in black and white nor have I ever observed a wave frozen in place as recorded by a high shutter speed. Depending on one's interpretation of 'authenticity,' it is possible to argue that any photograph lacks authenticity. 😎 @@user-fi6hg8vq6c
Obviously I'm biased, but we built Halide to make the most of whatever hardware you have. On the 14 Plus, you should get access to Neural Telephoto; it won't compete with a real telephoto lens, but I do think it's solid step up.
Ben, Great video. I see this as a great excuse to return to the Galapagos which I visited pre-smartphone in 2010. Are there any plans to add the neural processing to the tele lens, i.e. shoot manually in RAW to reduce the shake and then add the neural processing for an extra 2x?
Very nice. I also take the photo with my iphone 13 pro. Actually recently I am making an camera prpraw app too. SwiftUI or UIKit, which kinds of tech do you suggest?
hi, why is the s only 1/1 max? with all the features this app has, it seems weird that it limits this. longer exposure is so important in low light and for special effects.... i still get too much noise in the shots i want to take, and obviously its impossible to do light painting and stuff...
I love your content, Ben. I'm also a software developer, and I love Halide.
The coolest tax write-off ever!
Halide was worth the purchase price for the ease of adjusting focus and exposure alone.

The best commerical for your app and iPhones yet ;) Good on ya brother, hope to one day make it out here myself
Love this! (and your apps)
Lovely location Ben and great video - looking out for your RAW developing video next??
Mr Harper! How the devil are you?!

....or technology will continue to improve and digital enlargement will equal or surpass high-end glass.
@@TheSmartWoodshop I guess AI art is sort of already doing this, at least for the audience who doesn’t care about authenticity

I have iPhone 14 plus. Do you think Halide would complement its cameras as well as it does with the cameras of Pro series of iPhones?

Did you do any post-processing? Or are all pictures straight from Halide?

Great vid! What is the wriststrap you are using with your iPhone? Dropping the phone while taking pix is like one of my biggest fears 😱
@ben I'd love to know also - it looked like a Peak Design case?
Peak Design Cuff - just ordered one to go with my Nomad Rugged case. (my last reply disappeared so posting again for you)
Peak Design Cuff. I like that it has a little magnet to help coil it around your wrist when it isn't in use.
@@sandofsky looking forward to mine turning up soon 👍🏼 Ordered as soon as I’d worked out what it was.

1/1 is all the hardware can do. For longer exposures, there's Spectre, which uses computational photography to overcome the limitations.
I think Canon 360 will be better on the trip. Halide is useful for certain scene.
I tried Halide a long time ago, and it didn't have a video mode then. Is that still the case?
Nothing changed.
IPhone X ?
Great film, took me back to my trip in 2014. Certainly agree that as the animals are so close, an iPhone would do the job.
You can't shoot regular RAW in 48 MP yet, can you?
Unfortunately, not yet. But whenever Apple opens up access, we'll support it in Halide.
@@sandofsky and please announce it everywhere! 😝
I wish to god something like this existed for pixel 7 pro.
