Dave Chalker has been selling and making hybrid solar-and-electric cookers for two decades. Hybrids cancel out the common objection to solar cooking--that "you can't cook when the sun isn't shining." While the solar cooker community has never thought of it as a defect, a valid concern can and should be met whenever possible: And a hybrid cooker which incorporates the use of fuels other than solar energy alleviates that concern.
