- Cartier D'Amour Necklace XS 18k Yellow Gold Review and Comparison to Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra Guilloché Pendant Necklace.
Cartier d'Amour XS necklace comes in 18K yellow gold, set with a brilliant-cut diamond totaling 0.04 carat. Diameter of the pattern: 3.79 mm. Chain length: 380 to 410 mm. Retails for $870 as of March 2023.
Tiffany and Co Diamonds by the Yard® Single Diamond Pendant comes in 18k yellow gold. Their bezel-set round brilliant diamond is .05 carats and the chain is one 16", there is no extender. It currently retails for $950 as of March 2023.
Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra with Guilloché pendant comes in 18K yellow gold. It normally is 16.54" in length but I did have it extended. There are no diamonds on this necklace but it retails for $3,700 as of March 2023.

I purchased the Tiffany one last year but had to return it. The way they made the necklace the gold that is around the diamond is shorter in depth compared to the stone and so back of diamond (pointy part) slightly pokes out and keeps scratching the skin. I didnt know what was happening at first and after closer inspection noticed it. I have same necklace in silver and compared the depth was thicker on silver one and i never felt the diamond. Was very disappointed 😔

I heard this is a known issue with this model. As long as the Diamond is larger than .17 ct it will be noticeably pointier in the back. I hope they make changes to the settings😅
Omg I thought I’m the only one bothered by this issue. I have the DBTY and I absolutely regret getting it. I have a .27 ct size and the necklace is so uncomfortable with the back poking me. Also the diamond is not sparkle and chain is dull. I ended up getting another necklace the Cartier D Amour L size and love it.
What are the inches for the Cartier and van cleef ?

I've worn this necklace for over a year now and it's so sparkly, lightweight and beautiful still! I think you'd love it, just get a bigger diamond! But I agree with your concerns about the love design, this on the other hand is quiet luxury at it's best!

Do you feel that the Cartier one flips over?
Hi. I haven't had experience yet on the XS size. It also wears like a choker on my neck, so the back Cartier clasp doensn't come to the front. Hope this helps.
