    Very nice! I loves me some Joshua trees, adding the Moon is a great bonus.

      Thanks! I actually made the trip for this one specifically because it was one of the super moons or something like that

    Brian, the moon images at 11:57 and 12:51 are absolutely stunning! Perfect! Also, I really like the one at 9:53. Truly fantastic work! I see your channel hitting the first 100k subs very soon 😃

      Nice! Enjoy the trip. It's such a unique area, it's hard to describe. If it's a full moon, you'll be able to walk around at night without a light and still see. And unbelievably quiet - you can hear your pulse in your ears.

    I don't know why the photo of the two Joshua trees reminded me of the the LP, Hotel California? Lovely evocative images. Grand scenery too. None of this in the wet old UK.

    You sure got some nice ones Brian. I’ve never been to Joshua Tree so it’s fun to see the location. I’m catching up so I still need to watch your next episode from JT.

    • @brianbeattyphotography
      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Scott! It’s a very unique park for sure. Challenging to photograph at times. I think sunrise is better than sunset there personally, so I’ll be curious to hear which you like better!

    • @ScottWalton
      @ScottWalton 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianbeattyphotography OK, I've watched the other one now. It's a tough choice because you did a nice job on both sunrise and sunset. I do like the trees in front of the rock walls very much and you got a couple nice ones here. But the sunrise ones are nice too with the warm morning light and long shadows. I will say I think you might want to consider some focus stacking to eliminate the blurred foregrounds which I find a bit distracting on some of them. But that's a personal choice and is just the way I approach my own work, not necessarily right for everyone. I do appreciate the tour of this area and I definitely want to get there someday. I really envy you SoCal guys who can reach so many of the best spots in the west in a days drive. Looking forward seeing what you get up to this Fall.

    • @brianbeattyphotography
      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Scott! Sometimes I like the blurred foreground, but then there’s others where focus stacking is quite the challenge at 400mm. There’s a few I’d have like to do over but will save that for next time. Glad you liked the sunrise ones!

    • @ScottWalton
      @ScottWalton 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianbeattyphotography That's one of the things I love about using a view camera, you can easily focus front to back with any lens when shooting along the ground like that or in similar situations. But of course, it has a whole other set of issues too! I have the same issues when using my 645z. Focus stack, stop down or deal with selective focus. Now, I may have told you I have a 5DSr and I have a Mirex tilt shift adaptor for it that allows me to use my Pentax 645 lenses. So I can have that same "view camera" capability with all my Pentax zooms, which I have out to 300mm. That's kinda cool. Anyway, take care.

    I live 2 and a half hours away from there and haven't been there yet. There is also a Joshua Tree Park here in Arizona that is 2 hours away from me. You got a lot of great shots! My favorites were the photos at 8:00, 8:15, 9:52, and 12:50.

      Ah man, you've got to make a trip someday soon! Especially now that the weather will be cooling off. It's such an otherworldly place. I haven't heard of the one in Arizona but will have to look into it. And thank you, I'm glad you liked those ones! The one at 9:52 is my favorite from the first day.

    @johnchambers6272 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    A very successful day, well done. My favourite image would be the one at 9:50. In a future video would it be possible to go through step by step for taking a shot with the 5ds R. Your complete workflow would be appreciated.

    • @brianbeattyphotography
      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you John! I think that’s my favorite as well. And for sure, I can consider doing a video like that. What specifically do you have in mind? Like setting up/settings/focusing/editing?

    • @johnchambers6272
      @johnchambers6272 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianbeattyphotography I was thinking along the lines of setting up, focusing and exposure, using the histogram & Liveview. Just the steps you take in detail, along with the thought process for the scene. Perhaps also an example in Manual Mode as well. I'm not sure if you shoot Aperature Priority or Manual. I recently picked up a 2nd hand 5ds R so this would be helpful. There aren't many videos on youtube covering the whole process, usually the settings alone aren't that helpful. Much appreciated.

      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Got it, thanks for the feedback! I’ll be a bit more deliberate on my next trip 👍. Congrats on grabbing one, it’s my favorite camera! I hope you’re enjoying it so far

    • @brianbeattyphotography
      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And I generally shoot aperture priority mode, set iso to 100, and let the camera calculate shutter speed as I always use a tripod with the 5dsr.

      Thanks Steve! I'm fortunately close enough that I can drop into this park with just a short drive, unlike many of the others I'd like to visit more frequently. And you are so right - I have weather alerts set up for so many places I'd like to visit given the right conditions. One of them is actually Joshua Tree in the winter... I'd love to make a trip back if I can catch this area under a snowstorm!

    Красивые кадры👌А скажи друг, почему не на R5, а на 5DSr?

    • @brianbeattyphotography
      @brianbeattyphotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Я по-прежнему считаю, что изображения 5DsR превосходят изображения R5, когда у меня есть время правильно настроить и выбрать правильную экспозицию. R5 отлично подходит для большинства случаев, но для пейзажной фотографии со штативом и временем на подготовку кадра 5DSR по-прежнему остается королем!
