Oh man that was awesome!!! Went into this expecting some regular jumpscare content, was delighted to find very minimalistically creepy atmosphere instead. I love the mood in this and how the player character reacts in a reasonable way - attacking the entity like a mob and then mostly ignoring it once he realises it's apparently no harm. The way that balloon thing turned its head at the end actually gave me goosebumps haha. Would love to see more!!
Ok, that subversion of expectation with the second balloon encounter was insanely creative. The first encounter, it didn't do anything but float towards you, it didn't do anything when making physical contact, and most importantly, *It didn't take damage when hit* but did despawn with a pop sound, implying that it was in fact NOT a living thing and was just a weird balloon that kept floating towards you. The second encounter however, when the Balloon got shot, *It took damage* and *DIRECTLY FACED THE PLAYER AFTERWARDS* before crashing the game, implying that THIS ONE is *VERY MUCH A LIVING ENTITY* and POSSIBLY flesh and blood.
i like silent horror, it's like seeing a pile of clothes in your room, thinking it's a person, and all that accompanies you is the sound of your fan, or air conditioning while you enter a stare-off with it.
Have quite literally had nightmares almost EXACTLY like this. Just something ominous and strange acknowledging you when it shouldn't be able to - Massive creatures looking directly at you in a crowd, inanimate objects turning to look at you, things suddenly whipping their head to look straight in your eyes. Just discovering that something knows EXACTLY where you are no matter what is more psychologically horrifying than a jumpscare. This video is so low-key that I almost feel like I'm overreacting, but I really respond strongly to something in this... Thank you for bringing my nightmares to life. (I mean that genuinely!)

despite the spooky, alienated atmosphere, i actually found the balloon quite cute! a friendly, non-threatening entity that smiles and follows you around. i understand how it can be creepy but i couldn't help but smile a little whenever i saw it approaching
made me incredibly uncomfortable at first but intrigued. it's a simple design, a smiling balloon, but with the intense fog and loneliness the scene gave it was really unnerving. it slowly coming to the player was very creepy. impressed too that instead of relying on an old version of Minecraft that this is set in a modern version but still captures that unsettling feeling, very awesome
I want to play that mod. That running through the forest gives me chills like what if balloon jumpscare's you at the back of the trees or what if you look back the balloon already at your back 😂
