Yes i agree, and except to being a great artist, he is also very sensitive guy who care about others. When it comes to playing instrument's, he can play multiple, and piano is maybe not his best, even it flawless, but he has playing both bass and guitar on the record of the song by is guess you know who, hehe, but anyway Rihanna. If you liked this beautiful song with emotions, I can promise that you would like this too. Its from a Norwegian program that celebrate Norwegian artist, and other artist cover those song, it's very many gems there even if you have not heard the original's, but that\s only coy and paste if you are really interested is hearing that. But the song Jarle song and had also translated to English, was something be it else. I would recommend to see it, but its really up to you, here is the link th-cam.com/video/FoR5kul0BK0/w-d-xo.html If you don't want to press the link, just search< Jarle Balcony > you will find it anyway of the options. Hug from a music lover and who really appreciate a beautiful voice and blow minding experience music vise =D
Anyone else who thinks Bernhoft's "Stay with me" is better than Sam Smith's "Stay with me"? Bernhoft deserves so much more recognition, but being from Norway you have no chance making it big like all artists on the charts with less talent. He deserves lots of music awards for being so unique in every way. His voice, his charisma, his songs, his performances, his greatness at playing many different instruments a.s.o
+758sss Bernhoft is light years beyond Sam...imho..and I always thought that Jarle prefers the smaller venues so that he can stay connected to his audience, which is just fine with me, but I'm aching to see him come to the states more.
I'm going to his Nov 6 performance at the Troubador in Los Angeles! I'm looking forward to it! Search up his tour and you might find a venue within reasonable driving distance.
I fell in Love with Mr. Bernhoft's Aura of his voice and also his stage personality years ago. It was a concert where he was the supporting band and he was far better than the band I initially came there for. Can't really say what exactly it is that always gets me into a strange happy melancholy mood whenever I listen to his (live) voice, but I'm really thankful that these kinds of voices still exist nowadays.
Had this as our wedding song. I met my husband when I was struggling with depression and he helped me through everything. Stong and happy 4 years later ❤️
I remember that song from a show in Tallinn, Jazzkaar festival. This video is the closest to it, I have been really missing the solo version on spotify, wish it would be there to listen aswell, it has a great vibe.
this is one of those guys i listen to and think... i hope he never gets a band. they'll just muddle up his perfect, raw feel. everything he does, whether its him and a piano or him and his effects pedal laying down ten loops, is perfect and flawless and always full of feeling. bernhoft is a legend in my eyes.
I've often wondered who the people are who visit a musical artist's page and then click that they don't like it....how interesting. At any rate, Bernhoft is one of my new favorites, as he has unbridled talent and passion.
Alicia Benn Well, thats a really simple question. They just heard something they didn't like ! I have clicked "don't like" to lots of stuff on the internet. Because I didn't like it. Simple! lol This however is just brilliant music.
...actually it's more accurate to say that manners are no longer existent in our society. If I came to your house upon your invitation, and I eat your food and socialize, whether I "like" the experience or not should not keep anyone up at night. I prefer my way of "keeping it moving" and showing respect. ..basically boiling down to knowing that an opinion is just that....and doesn't necessarily need to ALWAYS be vomited up
Alicia Benn Ok see your point, But when the options are either "thumbs up" or "thumbs down", you just choose one of them. FaceBook removed the "thumbs down" option btw. If you want people to "show manners" you should give them the options to show it. But point taken, although you could equally well argue that a lot of people are too touchy...
Ive heard this song several times (every time in live performance). Not a single time has its been the same version. Talented is the right word for that.
He has that timbre in his voice that is so similar to Sinatra and at the same time so personal and different that makes him unique. A technically educated and controlled voice without losing any few of naturalness and warmth. I discover an exceptional singer and recognize a new addiction.
"I'm dying to set your heart on fire again" So beautiful sentence, that's what love is all about! We have to put each others hearts on fire every once in a while!
i am really feeling this song at 30 sec. and all the way through...a great way to say I LOVE YOU even i you dont need to..Jarle Bernhoft did his thing on this song.real music in its best music element...love is love
Tbh only version of this song that is actually conveing the real beatuy of this incredible pice of music... been listening for 11 yrs. damn I'm getting old
I was discorved Bernhoft in "Mon taratata à moi" and now i'm a fan. This artist it so Strong :o All the Time (i'm not sure for this word.) is complete . It's just Beautiful !
This epitomizes what I appreciate in music. His cadence (not the chorus so much as the verse) caters to my dynamic and quirky ear. Lyrics are heartfelt. So very soulful. Putting him up there with Billie, Al, and Miles if Miles had words. Yes. If i had one in particular I loved at this moment, this would be the anthem. Keep singing from your heart boy, wish I could do so, so magically.
Jarle Bernhoft is simply an amazing talent in many ways and if the greater musical community hasn't discovered and realized that yet, then it is their loss. And why would anyone try to compare this song with another artist's song just because they share the same title and where it's not even the same song? That is just bizarre beyond comprehension.
I'm a super fan of Jarle Bernhoft, and feel he's an under rated artist in the United States. I'm not really a Sam Smith fan and can't see how he outshines Jarle Bernhoft. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves.
He was actually nominated for an American Grammy in 2015 for best RnB album….but he didnt win of course (since he is Norwegian and «unkown»). He should have been as famous and known as John Legend, Sam Smith etc. iI think he is better. He is a multi-talent, a real musician. Its really sad someone like Bernhoft wasnt appreciated more in the US when he was nominated for that Grammy. Its also sad to see how few views his songs/videos has and only 20k followers on his YT channel. He was amazing doing his one-man-band (looping) and is still amazing. These are some of his newer songs: «Clearly confused» (live acoustic) th-cam.com/video/qgHshVGNp4c/w-d-xo.html «Dreamweaver» th-cam.com/video/khsxT4sXkMI/w-d-xo.html Call out kids» th-cam.com/video/W9CJQbURefI/w-d-xo.html
When I hear this dude, I don't feel bad for not feeling the same about Robin Thicke and John Legend. They need a backseat to you mr. #bernhoft good work!
Bernhoft is by far one of the most gifted voices/talents on the planet today. I was blessed recently to see him in person in Napa, CA. A rare gem.
Jolin Halstead i agree !!! Just saw this!!
I discovered this song 11 years ago, he is an absolute gem! I adore him. ❤

Beyond. No comparison.
he's so amazing. Donnie Hathaway born again in Scandinavian. he heals.
I'm going to his Nov 6 performance at the Troubador in Los Angeles! I'm looking forward to it! Search up his tour and you might find a venue within reasonable driving distance.
Soul is something, that you have, or dont have. Simply that. And Jarle oozes Soul from every pore.

Bernhoft is the greatest musical talent we have in Norway at the this time. Such an amazing artist!
WTF, how the hell I've never heard about you. simply divine, I am shocked that I wasted these years without hearing this voice. WTF again.
I'm thinking the exact same thing. I just discovered him. His music is surreal.
I remember that song from a show in Tallinn, Jazzkaar festival. This video is the closest to it, I have been really missing the solo version on spotify, wish it would be there to listen aswell, it has a great vibe.
Holy hell. Why isn't this man more famous!?!? SO much talent. -.-

bernhoft is a legend in my eyes.
He was great in the band Span too:

He is even more awesome "live" saw him 4/11/13 in Phoenix, Az, what a great showman and person!!!!!
Was für ein großartiger Musiker!!!

It's a shame this guy isn't a household name cuz his songs are masterpieces of music.
"I'm dying to set your heart on fire again"
So beautiful sentence, that's what love is all about!
We have to put each others hearts on fire every once in a while!

Ridiculous how good this guy is.

Exactly the kind of voice I adore to listen to
No wonder he is/ was a judge on The Voice: Norway. 😮 He’s very talented.
Wow! You were so fortunate to see him.

As a musician he tops all your favourite American pop stars. He's the real deal.
Ryan Quinn's acoustic cover bought me here, I've never heard of this guy...very smooth indeed
That's so amazingly beautiful! I'm just blown away.
Saw him at Hyde Park, blew me away! So talented and that voice, especially on this song, reminds of Curtis Stigers..
