We live in a day and age where creating a Dungeon Master screen for a nerdy-ass voice actor warrants an artisanal video. Never stop being awesome, Wyrmwood!

Wow, things like that just can't be mass produced. The care and detail going into this screen is immaculate! I often watch videos of folks making things out of metal and wood but never has the result been so rewarding and awesome!
Just came here from CR producer Max's twitter. Even this video is artisan-level craft. God damn! And those brown oak veneers... positively gushing over here. Now I'm day dreaming about a bass guitar from those woods - dark wenge body and neck, brown oak fingerboard as contrast... Not sure practical that is, sure wood look tight though.

I think my favorite part of every one of these craftsman videos is when the varnish gets put on the wood and it gets darker and shiny and just a beautiful finalized piece.
Incredible craftsmanship! The cost in materials and hours of work on this item has to have been huge. I don't even DM and I want one of these new screens!
Thank you so much for showing your process of making this for Matt, also i think gives people more of an understanding of why things cost the way they do. And that it is totally worth it. Hopefully in the future I can order something.

It's so great to see the process put into the craftsmanship. Thanks!
Until the correct answer is given, it's usually something like a solution of baking soda, for the carbon dioxide. Adam Savage has a little bottle with a pump sprayer that he buys from hobby shops, but it doesn't cause the bubbling seen here, yet still works very fast.
It is an aerosol activator for the cyanoacrylate glue (superglue) that we use, it cures the glue instantly which is really helpful for a project like this one. The black matte is scraps of heavy density foam left over from our furniture upholstery. If you look up "poker table foam" you'll find it. It works great as a safe surface for sanding, finishing, and generally avoiding all-too-common shop rash
