This is a VERY helpful video! Thank you. Wow you use minis on the exterior of the house. I won't go any smaller than a C9 bulb outside. I'm not going to use the hooks as I already have nails up all around. I am going to use that wire hook piece though that they sell which would help with installing. Right now I use tree pruner on a pole for removal which works great, but it's not the right tool for installation.
Same question again sorry.... have any of your hooks fallen off during last 12 months? I ask as I see bad reviews about the hooks falling off on amazon. thanks for the great video and your time in advance.
No they have held up very well. I think the key is to have a clean surface. They use 3M automotive grade cushion tape to adhere them to the soffit. When in doubt, use some extra hooks for extra support. I was quite pleased with this product overall. Cheers! Rob
I've never put up lights but I've always wanted to so I went to TH-cam. (I'm not a fan of heights too. ) Where else would you go? My husband is not the outside handy guy so I do most of the outside work. Your review was the most helpful and useful. my house just got new gutters and a paint job so now is the perfect time. Thanks for your help. I looked on Amazon for reviews and some people have taped an extension or bent the front end of the light hook up so the light string doesn't slip off like yours was.
+pearljamfanatic - No. So far so good! They are made with a 3M double sided automotive grade cushion tape so I don't think I'll have an issue. Thanks for your comment!
Nice review Rob. Also a job I hate so my answer was to not put them up. But that comes much complaining from my wife every year. This might be a compromise. Oh BTW, I totally agree with sending you wife to pick the colors.
6 years later, are the hooks still up?? I question the adhesive as well, especially outside over time, with the hot summers and cold winters in the Midwest
thank you for this looks a good solution , unfortunately they are not available in the uk so had to pay a fortune for delivery and they wont come till the 7th . but i hate hanging off a ladder so all is good
Thanks Dave! Good Luck with your install! I found it to be relatively easy. I think the most important thing is to make sure the material you are mounting the hooks to is clean and dry. They give you a crappy little scrubber to use (which worked well for me) but you could tape a wet towel around the tip of application pole if you need a heavy duty clean. Cheers! Rob
I'm in an area that is typically calm but we can get some crazy storms. If you are concerned about the lights coming down I would suggest getting more hooks (they are available) and putting them closer together and alternating directions of the hooks. That should keep everything in place...
They use 3M adhesives which are quite good. Will they stand up to Florida heat? No idea. They stand up to the Canadian extremes though. -35*C to +35*C. Cheers! Rob

Thanks! I bought those on sale and haven't replaced them yet. Still waiting for the right products to go on sale at the right time.
Cheers!

That product looks very nice, but it’s totally out of stock everywhere I look. Can I borrow yours?

Yes, that part was kind of a problem. Thanks for your comment and good luck with your install!

Have any of the hooks fallen off since you placed them? Thanks.

I saw your last video with st.nicks hanging pole. I was about to buy one until I saw that video. Thanks for honest review

+WoodRodent - LOL! Thanks!
Thanks for the review! Question, does the light hanger pro tilt on any angles to help install in triangular eaves? Thanks!
yes it is adjustable

Yes but its just a matter of time before they fail. I'm impressed so far!

What is the recommended spacing for installing the hooks?
I don't remember what they recommended but I placed mine approximately every 18 inches (45cm)
Cheers!
Rob
probably all the hooks are gone now
Surprisingly all still up...
interesting solution
Yes I was happy with the results. Up all winter and no problems. Easy to put up and easy to take down.
Cheers!
Rob
+Rob's Garage Woodworking do you get high winds? I am in Iowa and the wind never stops. 40 MPH winds in the winter are fairly common?

Here in Florida this will not work with the heat those cheap adhesive hooks & with the weight of the lights will definitely fall.

Did you try it?
