Wow your tone and technique is insanely good. I wish I could buy a bassoon like this, i am stuck renting the one from my school. I want to start a career as a bassoon player but a good instrument and supplies for reed making are so expensive :(
I guess the “long joint” isn’t necessarily so “long” these days! I haven’t been playing bassoon much for quite a while, although ironically, I have played a bit of contrabassoon the past couple decades. It looks like they’ve changed a bit over the years! For example, I hadn’t seen the low Ab/Bb trill key. I also see a tab attached to the low-C key, apparently to let you close it without also closing the low D. What is that used for?
@@JD-zh6qe thanks for your comment. I’ve never tried Mr. Rechtman’s reeds and Thunemann didn’t have a façon. He shaped his reeds by hand and they probably weren’t all the same, depending on hardness. Therefore, whatever is been sold as his façon might be a copy of something he made, but he never gave authorisation to anyone to make such thing. As for my shape, I’m still using a lot of Danzi cane from 2011-12 at the moment, but I also use a modified copy of a Danzi shape when I gouge and profile myself.
Hello and thanks for asking. No, it doesn’t make any difference. It’s the same varnish, one is polished to high gloss, the other variant is only sanded
@@GustavoNunez65 Ok,it some how looks very impressive.i also do polish my reed inside smooth as possible when it is at the ''boat shape'' stage.maybe we are looking for something common, just for the reed we can't see it after words.
Looks great! One question, why is the Eb trill in the left hand for most European horns, but some American horns have it for the right hand. I prefer the right hand because it’s an excellent all purpose trill key.... excellent audio by the way! Nice video!
A matter of choice, I guess. Our Amsterdam Model is obviously meant for the European market and, although there are many European players that prefer a right hand Eb trill key, we made this choice
Amazing video, I recommend everybody to visit the amsterdam bassoon center!
Great playes capriccio in back!!!! Respect G.N.

Gustavo: what kind of facon of reeds do you play? Is this a Thunemann-Facon?
What do you think about the Mordechai Rechtman reeds?

Wow Gustavo really let his beard grow
I’ve been playing my bell bassoon professionally for 6 years and there are great and not so great aspects about it.
Maestro,is the mirror finish makes the differents in the sound?thanks for answer.

Me gusta fagotto! 👍🏻👍🏻
Can you play some Shostakovich on that bassoon?
You wouldn't believe how well...
Y played shostakovitz 10th with my Bell bassoon. It was my Last performance at the Solis theater . It was nice . Very nice !

It would be fun to try one some day.

How did you obtain such an amazing tone?? Because I have been working on my tone for little bit
I’ve been doing this for more than 40 years now. The key is the air
What you say when you play single tongue? Thank You!
What do you mean, say?
I mean like "Tu", Di, Ta, Ti
