On one of my cruises I met a major d his name was Dino and he invited me to visit him in Lisbon but I declined at the time it was I would have been the only one going and I wasn't that adventurous I wish I was but I wasn't but I wish you would have shown the room that you were staying at or the b&r or whatever you were staying at I would like to have seen that

I was Born in Portugal. But not from the main land i am from the Azores a set of nine islands off the coast of Portugal. Beautiful tropical islands I am from the Largest island Sao Miguel. Hopefully some day you can visit the Azores they are a Gem. Thank you for the tour I enjoyed it. Portugal did lead in the most famous explorers 🙂 You really enjoyed Lisbon I know you would love the islands 🙂

Good morning! I love those pateis so much, that I learned to make them. We lived in New Jersey in a town where there were a lot of Portuguese people, great people. We go to eat to Portuguese restaurants a lot.
I don't know what I expected Lisbon to be like, but it's beautiful. Taking the funicular to the top of the hill with the castle and scenic overlook reminded me of Quebec City.
What a wonderful experience. My cousin went for a few weeks in 2021 or 22; Stayed an extra period of time when "covid testing" was required and had testing positive right before her flight back to USA. She did an air b&B as well. My favorite part was always walking around the town at the top of the yellow funicular. Oh, and the tiles on the buildings. Interesting mix of new and old.

I'm so happy you loved Lisbon ! My mom use to travel from her little town outside Lisbon via the traon station at Rossio to visit her dad ehen he was staioned there for work. Please go back and soend at least a week there. There is so much to see!! Make Sintra a definite stop on your list along with Cascais. Both easy to get to by train.

Fun fact; Lisbon is older than Rome! It doesn’t look like it today bc of a massive earthquake in 1755 that led to it’s reconstruction. 🇵🇹

We did visit Ponta Delgada and explore around the island as part of this trip. Amazing!! :D

At a kiosk near the funicular, the clerk warned my wife ( who speaks Portugese ) abou pickpockets in the area

We were supposed to be in Lisbon on a transatlantic cruise from the US to Europe in 2020. You can figure out the rest. We'll get there eventually.
