Story 7: In regards to the statement "Can I get that in writing" It is a lot like when a GM for a tabletop game asks "Are you sure you want to do that.". Both statement usually mean 'Stop, think, reevaluate, and likely reverse your decision'.
Lol I’m still waiting on an email from a further up manager to do my job wrong. His girlfriend he was trying to protect is gone because I fired her ass, then reported him. He’s gone too, I don’t know if I’ll ever get that email, but I have hope in my heart.
Failing Teacher Story: my friend is studying in Switzerland at the moment, 1st year, and she just told me it's basically an elimination round, 40% of students don't pass and they like to keep it that way. It honestly infuriates me so much.
I enjoy these longer compilation style (about 2 hours max) for WFH or any time when I just want to chill and not watch TV or whatever. Thanks for having. Thanks to all the OPs and KCC for this.
The migraine story reminds me of a fact I found out as I used to have them. 95% of most migraine sufferers are actually struggling from stress headaches. So if your wife has them to investigate the possibility of stress headaches with her medical professionals. A few changes if habits can eliminate them
Don't know what a migraine feels like? Good. I suffer from migraines and periodic cluster headaches. The way I can tell the difference between the two is migraines make me so sensitive to light it feels like a jackhammer in my eye sockets, whereas a cluster headache makes me so sensitive to sound it feels like a nuke went off in my eardrum
Thank you Rob! Yes, these are AWESOME! 1.5 hours of great stories is something I can definitely get behind. Especially if I missed one (which I rarely do. :-P) and like you said not having to click next video is GREAT!
Also to all those who don't know how bad migraines can really be I can tell you how bad they can really get from first hand experience. They can inhibit your ability to walk and even make it seem like you're having a heart attack or even a strike right down to the drooping of just one side of your body. It's not fun at all.
The migraine story was a cut-and-dry an ADA violation. Chronic Migraine are is federally recognized disability, and as such, that manager, and the store can be found criminally at fault
We had the first story happen at my work. We have a mailbox that would send a thank you, we recived the email, and the dept turn around time. Sometimes we'd get a client or 3rd party email with a return receipt as well. We had to quarantine the mailbox and make a new one to fix it... twice . I'm now in another dept so no idea if they still have the issues with that or not
I used to work in a call center for an electric company and we'd use helicopters to scout our equipment to make sure everything was operational and not at risk of starting a fire due to weather or damage, one lady called in saying she had a brain cancer and that "the helicopter flying over her house everyday and all day long was giving me headaches and I can't sleep" that we were doing it on purpose to target her or something like that, and it eventually came down to her crying to me saying that we don't care about poor people that, tbats why we were spreading covid with the helicopter, I was literally holding my mouth open as if my jaw dropped to the floor, I had no idea how to respond to that except laugh later about how someone can come to that conclusion
Regarding Story 13, I have traveled a lot for work and I've always tried to save money for my boss, try to find a cheaper but decent hotel, not spend too much on food etc. Some companies do not allow their staff to book hotels for themselves or have them pick from a list of allowed hotels. Some companies also pay a set amount for food per day so if you go cheap, you have money left over but if you go expensive, you pay.
When I travelled for a living I tended to go to the more expensive side Mainly because I was doing the company a favor by going (not my normal job) and they were taking me away from family time
When I traveled we would eat in the office. The company home office was so large they had their own cafeteria w/4 entrees and a ton of a la cart stuff like slice of pizza, of chicken Marsala, pasta salad, ice cream machine and 2 Seattle’s best stores in our building. If I had to eat out of the office we were told to just be mindful and anything reasonable was allowed.
A couple of decades I was an early 40's yo single student at an Engineering College and one of my professors, a tenured Chinese Professor, who had just gone through a divorce. And when he found out I was single he latched on to me to party with. Being a fairly nice looking guy with a good athletic build and a great paying career, I had little problems getting dates with the ladies. And he decided I was "The Guy to hang out with. I went to his home a few times and noticed ha had a large collection of very expensive Uni Labeled computers there. He explained them as one of the perks of being a college professor. A year and a half later I was getting tired of his constant phone calls and bragging about how we were such a hot ticket with the ladies, it got so bad I couldn't even have a date alone, or meet up with any of my friends without him tagging along. So I slipped a note to the College Ethics Department asking about why this Professor had all the Uni computers at his residence. Found out later that he had "Borrowed" them without permission. He got shown the door in shame and arrested for theft of over a $Million Dollars in college equipment. Seems he was selling them! I liked the guy at first, but he grew to be quite the milestone around my neck.
I suffer from migraines and that description at 27:38 of the railroad spike pounded into your eye socket is pretty much dead on, at least for me too. The part where the manager screamed at her and she threw up on her hits home as well, my dog has a habit of barking at the garbage truck when it comes and last time I had a migraine I puked everywhere. It was hell to clean up because every movement of your head could make the pounding worse. Probably the worst I've ever had was in high school. I went to a small school where the history teacher was the football coach and was barely qualified to teach. My head had been pounding all morning and all we had to do in that class was a worksheet afterwards we entertained ourselves, so it got loud in there. I sat there with the aforementioned railroad spike pounding into my head when all of the sudden my periphery started going black. I was about to pass out so I got up and asked to go to the office and called my grandma to check me out. I drove home puked as soon as I got there and laid down on the recliner with my hat over my eyes and Behind the Music: Aerosmith in the background turned way down. I was asleep in 10 minutes.
@ 50:00 Why on earth would you complain about getting paid properly for your work time plus a day off for your overtime? Some people seriously undervalue their own work. Love the long videos, especially with yt premium I can download at home and listen through my work day.
3rd story, that you mention 8 weeks unpaid leave as if it was great, well, here women when they have a kid can take up to 1 year paid leave, paid at 55% and they can split it with their husband say 6 months leave each or if she wants, she can give it all to him and go right back to work. The US is so far behind in worker's right, it's not even funny.
Regarding the migraine story, knowing my mother, the manager wouldn’t have been able to hide. She would have hunted her down, and as close as my family is, they would have provided mom with the spear
59:44 reminds me how my dad would talk about how much money was spent on food when he would train people at his job. They would go to places and get massive portions.
You stated that if you are polite with customer service reps they will be more willing to help you, with that statement it's a safe bet that you have never called Straight Talk customer service. Their only response to any question is " I am not authorized to give you that information" I asked to speak to a manager " I am not authorized to give you that information" I asked what they are authorized to tell me " I am not authorized to give you that information" I asked what is the name of the company you work for " I am not authorized to give you that information" Straight Talk customer service will make you feel levels of frustration and hate you never thought possible.
As long as you're in the US as far as I'm aware of you aren't allowed to be sued for stating your opinion no matter who you're stating it of. As long as you aren't trying to twist it as in IE: "I Thought I saw a coakroach in the food" or something else very twisted like that. If you're calling someone stupid they can eat it.
Story 14, I don't know what the guy is complaining about with no alcohol being covered. That's started reimbursement protocol, doesn't matter where you get sent to for work. I've only ever seen a very rare example of such being covered by a typical reimbursement. Such is usually reserved for a special company party, not casual business or travel, and then it's usually pre-paid, or only paid up to a certain level of consumption. So while 'clever', I can't get behind this guy for specifically taking advantage of the system here to consume alcohol when it's such a standard practice not to reimburse such. The part where they treat the team to lunch, though, that was nice.
I like some of the longer videos but I'd much rather if you used older stories rather than ones you just released. I listen to your posts in the background while I'm working most days so most of the recent stories will be something I've heard recently and likely remember. If it were older stories there's a higher chance that I wouldn't remember them. No big deal if you put them out, you just seemed to be asking for our opinions so I figured I'd let you know.
Amen to that call center man; i worked for 5 years and 8n months in a center in England; so if you are nise to me, i will be as helpful as i can to you; but start swearing; and i simply say 'thank you for your call; goodbye! Lol!
Story 16 - This is a perfect display of dealing with non technical people. The mere thought of buying the device and plugging it in would have been too technical for them to handle. I once had to dress up and go to a clients premises to supervise a dial up modem installation and to program their inhouse pocket paging system software as the sales rep was not technical and thus save a corporate sales deal from being cancelled. Also had to test the system and teach their staff how to use the software. And later instruct their staff how to add another pager to the system over the phone.
The reason that professor keeps on failing them is because they probably use a textbook they have published. I had a professor like this he failed me and I never went again. I joined the work force cause Eff that guy if he thinks I’m going to line his pockets.
Not all stores are the same as all people are not the same. I went into a Kohls store about 25 years ago right after they just opened to put in an job application in. I looked around and felt the stuck up attitude and walked right out again.
So true. Iam nearly 4 Years at my current Job. Only one even longer, but iam beside the morning shift way more versed in everything. I worked everyone in and showed them the gist. If i go, ouch, that will leave a deep hole.
My buddy just started listening to the KCC. He does the 1 hour or longer ones well at work. He just called me after the plumbing one and his boss is triggered because he used to be the guy doing the long away jobs and he did the same thing. Lol😊
LoL. Those who shop at Kohl's do have a smugness about themselves. Even some of the employees. I loathe that store. I had an x girlfriend that loved that snobhole. Yeah I had to get rid of her. She's a wannabe and I'm just blue collar and worked retail in my youth. To this day I really don't have issues when shopping. And if the cashier is new. I just smile as they do their best. Even this 1 girl who was on the spectrum started crying when she messed up my purchase. I just smiled told her it's ok. And if she needs help. Call. I will wait. The Karen behind was getting pissy and literally started screaming manager. The manager was just about there already because they saw the poor girl was having a problem. The manager apologized offered coupons . I was like. Dude. I'm good 😊. She's doing well and probably new on register. He said yes. And thanked me for my understanding. And before he could deal with Karen. I was already on her. My little brother is on the spectrum and so I don't take lightly to entitled people. I was in bike gear . Let's just say I had Karen crying and I didn't yell or nothing. Just told her the truth. Then I told her to get a job and stop being a professional to her rich husband. The girl behind the register gave me a hug. She got better overtime and I was one of her favorite regulars. Nice girl and beautiful smile.
Ha ha ha the never ending Coles stories. If only their flybuys and online shopping call centre guys start posting, there would a never ending supply of entertainment 😂😂😂😂. This lady is actually a gem to be honest. There's far far worse than this Karen.
Story 10: Oh, yeah, the old British trick of it's not that we want to, it's that EU is forcing us to impose this rule in you, even though it's not required anywhere else in Europe.
So talking about living in a hotel room in expenses I've always lived in the world of per diem I have slept in a truck bed before to save money actually camping in the bed of a truck on a job site was pretty fun I even slept in the bed of a truck in a tent in a Walmart parking lot back in the early 2000s there was a time whenever I was driving tractor trailer whenever I was working in the next state over that I started living out of the back of a box trailer that the company owned and never used anymore it was an old moving trailer with a side man door that I build a set of steps up into and ran a bunch of extension cords and to have things like lights and television stuff I had to deal with the secretary where she gave me in cash the $200 that I normally would have spent on a hotel room and use the office bathroom and for showers and stuff I used my fuel rewards points from filling up the truck with diesel to get free showers at the truck stops I really like that arrangement it was great 8 months but the job sucked big fat donkey we wee
Sending 150 financial documents is akin to paying a bill with penny's. Although double check the fine print on that one. Some require any change over one dollar to be rolled or not excepted at all.
I work at a hotel If I get called in to work Once I clock out for the day or on my day off it is an automatic 4 hours no matter if the issue takes 2 minutes or 4 hours And if the issue is bad enough to require 4 hours and 1 minute it is another 4 hours
You wouldn't need a tank that big unless their on 4+lpm of o2 and wow that's a huge pile of 🐎 💩 . Former hospice nurse here. Btw you'll over inflate their lungs by pushing a 2 lpm by 4 lpm (lpm= liters per minute) keep blowing up a ballon over and over the balloon will pop.

Love the longer compilations. They give me something good to listen to, without TH-cam's algorithm throwing in a robot.
Story 7: In regards to the statement "Can I get that in writing" It is a lot like when a GM for a tabletop game asks "Are you sure you want to do that.". Both statement usually mean 'Stop, think, reevaluate, and likely reverse your decision'.
Lmao this comment made me smile

Oh thank you rob this is exactly what I need while I do my job thank you so very much
Love episodes with many stories! Thanks Rob
These videos get me thru long days of working in kitchens. I appreciate it.
That professor probably just shut his eyes and said, “ this one fails, this one passes, this one fails, etc”. That’s how he failed his students.
Loving your compilation videos. Its super convenient for me as a mail carrier who likes to listen to stories while I work. Keep it up dude!!!
Appreciate the comment! More compilations coming!
The migraine story reminds me of a fact I found out as I used to have them. 95% of most migraine sufferers are actually struggling from stress headaches. So if your wife has them to investigate the possibility of stress headaches with her medical professionals. A few changes if habits can eliminate them
only just discovered this channel. love love love it. your extended stories keep me company on my daily commute.
I love longer videos, even if they tend to not do as well metric wise.
Eh, who gives a shit
I love longer videos too.
I only care to watch the longer videos. Or, more accurately, listen to longer videos while working.
I like to listen to 1+ hours of these podcasts while I am working around the house.
Thank you. I.m a truck driver and I listen to your channel while driving. This much longer then normal video was much appreciated 👍👍👍👍
Compilations are great for me to listen to while resting or pottering at my workbench.
This is awesome! I love longer sessions and this is perfect!
Over an hour 💝 I have to decide if I should listen now or until I'm on the road this weekend 🤔
I'm putting out 5 compilations in a row, this is the 2nd one :) There's a playlist for Compilations now, I'll toss a link to it in the description.
I LOVE THE LONGER VIDEOS!
Wait, did I say that not loud enough?
Thanks for all you do Rob!
I know it's such a small thing but I just love the little "bloop" with the water splashes
I really enjoy the longer ones, I do really mean the longer the better!
19:30 - YES! MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE HIGHEST GRADE MEAL YOU CAN FIND! LISTEN TO THE SALES PITCH THEN TELL THEM "NO"!
This would be great if I hadn't already watched them. Loved the Kevin in a Big Rig compilation though
I like these longer videos as well! it makes wait time at work a lot easier
The longer videos are good. Don't have to click on another video for awhile
Love the longer vids. Ty KCC
Also to all those who don't know how bad migraines can really be I can tell you how bad they can really get from first hand experience. They can inhibit your ability to walk and even make it seem like you're having a heart attack or even a strike right down to the drooping of just one side of your body. It's not fun at all.
Great job
The migraine story was a cut-and-dry an ADA violation. Chronic Migraine are is federally recognized disability, and as such, that manager, and the store can be found criminally at fault
We had the first story happen at my work. We have a mailbox that would send a thank you, we recived the email, and the dept turn around time. Sometimes we'd get a client or 3rd party email with a return receipt as well. We had to quarantine the mailbox and make a new one to fix it... twice . I'm now in another dept so no idea if they still have the issues with that or not
Yes please I love listening to them and thar sow good to listen to wile cleening
Good evening Rob
Hello everyone
This is going to be good
I used to work in a call center for an electric company and we'd use helicopters to scout our equipment to make sure everything was operational and not at risk of starting a fire due to weather or damage, one lady called in saying she had a brain cancer and that "the helicopter flying over her house everyday and all day long was giving me headaches and I can't sleep" that we were doing it on purpose to target her or something like that, and it eventually came down to her crying to me saying that we don't care about poor people that, tbats why we were spreading covid with the helicopter, I was literally holding my mouth open as if my jaw dropped to the floor, I had no idea how to respond to that except laugh later about how someone can come to that conclusion
I’m glad that pizza OP was willing to put others in danger because they wanted to spite their DM/s.

Oof I could have sworn that first story was about Walmart lol
Good evening
You should start doing some shorts. I really enjoy TH-cam shorts and I would really enjoy hearing some cool great reddit stories in the form of shorts
I've tested shorts here a number of times and the results unfortunately weren't worth the extra time invested.
The longer ones are good
The senior discount is great👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
A couple of decades I was an early 40's yo single student at an Engineering College and one of my professors, a tenured Chinese Professor, who had just gone through a divorce.
I drove home puked as soon as I got there and laid down on the recliner with my hat over my eyes and Behind the Music: Aerosmith in the background turned way down. I was asleep in 10 minutes.
i like to refer to it as a spike being driven in and slowly yanked out hostel style at the same time with my left eye.
46:29 Working for free is not anything close to professional.
Chemistry teacher fired for so many failures, apparently anyone who took his class would fall asleep as he was so monotone and boring.
Have you ever had an Icecream headache? A migraine is like an Icecream headache, but more painful, and doesn't go away for sometimes days at a time
These longer videos are great for when im working and just want something to listen to other them music
That first story is one of my favorites

MY FELLOW CANADIAN!
I love long videos, except when you've posted them before
59:44 reminds me how my dad would talk about how much money was spent on food when he would train people at his job. They would go to places and get massive portions.
Did not work for Khols but rather Walmart. Seemed at least once a week we had someone taking a dump in the sales floor rather than the toilets.....
You stated that if you are polite with customer service reps they will be more willing to help you, with that statement it's a safe bet that you have never called Straight Talk customer service. Their only response to any question is " I am not authorized to give you that information"

Hey Rob, longer videos!!!! Yay 😁😁😆😻 I say heck yes*
I keep wanting to clean my screen with all the balloons floating in the air at a distance
If unwanted calls keep coming from places tell them it’s a govt funded place or business and if they keep calling the authorities will get involved
Just wondering: is there anything illegal with sitting on a bench outside of Customer Service to monitor for Karens/Kevins?
Loitering, perhaps.
I love these malicious compliances! And I love the voice! It makes it very comfortable to listen to this sh*t! ;-)

Story 15's OP is a Sly Cooper fan and you can't make me think otherwise
i would be cringing or suffer a meltdown from doushe's screaming. i don't take loud noises well at all
Like the long story (part 1-9)
Not all stores are the same as all people are not the same. I went into a Kohls store about 25 years ago right after they just opened to put in an job application in. I looked around and felt the stuck up attitude and walked right out again.

Story 10... Sounds like my job. Workshop has to justify our time. Office is honor system. We have a time clock. And a strict 30 minute lunch.
Work trip. I eat what I want. If that's a burger or a steak.
op1: written up for what? wtf did they do
Where did all the karens come from in the first place
I think there's an underground company that manufactures them like beer bottles. But not as usefull.

I believe the truth is to a Karen, like garlic is to a vampire.

That nurse was a waste of space.

I work at a hotel
If I get called in to work
Once I clock out for the day or on my day off it is an automatic 4 hours no matter if the issue takes 2 minutes or 4 hours
And if the issue is bad enough to require 4 hours and 1 minute it is another 4 hours
My job is driving so this is what I need lol
I have had a boss like that myself
You wouldn't need a tank that big unless their on 4+lpm of o2 and wow that's a huge pile of 🐎 💩 . Former hospice nurse here. Btw you'll over inflate their lungs by pushing a 2 lpm by 4 lpm (lpm= liters per minute) keep blowing up a ballon over and over the balloon will pop.
