Our outstanding performances in Damsco are prestigious, ook al we rather look than clap. But that doesn't matter, because we are tourists too sometimes.
I used to admire Barrie Kosky’s work, but I’m shocked to learn that he used his legal team to force a TH-camr to take down a legitimate review of his Turandot production for Dutch National Opera. Shame on you, Barrie Kosky. You claim to push boundaries and challenge audiences, yet you can’t handle a review with mild negative comments? This reveals you as nothing more than a hypocrite, using art to inflate your own ego. Who are you really? And to the Dutch National Opera: when you throw controversial productions at your audience, you claim it’s an expression of creative freedom. Yet you turn around and use legal teams to silence any dissenting voices. Since when did opera become personal property for establishments like yours? This behavior is nothing short of disgusting. You present yourselves as champions of creativity, but in reality, you’re nothing more than tyrants disguised as artists. Silencing criticism is the antithesis of what art stands for. You’re not pushing boundaries-you’re controlling narratives and stifling genuine dialogue. The hypocrisy is glaring: you demand audiences accept your so-called boldness, yet you can’t tolerate the same courage from critics. Tyranny has no place in art, and neither should you.
Great production! Brava
