@9:32 - it's naaat nothing... Skyguy.?! - And Skylar just goes: Nope. :D
Hope that the consignment will work out great for you as it will take away big workload and may be an option for further stuff comming out of this hobby shop. Already looking forward to the next part where you will pick up the rest of the stuff.
Regarding the question how you should choose what to list: If you need quick money for the next big purchase or the rest of the hobby shop it is alway working peaking through the boxes and look out for more profitable items. If that is not the point and you want to clear the storage just list box after box as this will save you from creating dead stock as some goods my be lost and forgotten in the cherry picking style.
For the Steuben lampshard maybe an antique booth will be interested (perhaps also as consignment?).
Already looking forward to your next video - keep up!

a suggestion i could work for you next time ,i got a pallet of dvds (ok not much value ) but what i did is there were about 40-50 boxes each with nearly 100 in each box, rather than go through every box and pick out all the good stuff i just did one box at a time ,listed on ebay any that was worth listing ,saved any with slightly less value and put them away for a rainy day ,and anything that did not have a value i donated to a charity . I only did one box at a time that way i did not pick all the cream and at the end i was not left with stuff i could not sell , this might work for you but i think it is worth a try (from uk and melting in the heat ,we do not have air con in our homes )

I’m like you guys i list the bigger items to get my money back but then i just tackle one bin at a time until it’s all listed. I’m also just a one man operation and i can only go to yard sales two weekends a month.

I do love the deep dives into the hauls, especially with some numbers at the end and a sort of breakdown of your thinking. I like your model of splitting it up to get cashflow back immediately and then deciding which items will be auction vs long tail. I'd be interested to hear a bit more about the local auction process and how you decided to auction it vs long tail item it on eBay.

Just some ideas for your processing. First rule needs to be “Handle items only once, when processing”.
So firstly set up Plastic Tubs with your selling options like, Whatnot, eBay, Amazon, Auction etc.
Second, grab a box and seperate items into the relevant plastic tubs.
Thirdly, DO NOT PUT ITEMS BACK INTO CARDBOARD for processing later. Otherwise you will handle some items 4,5 or more times, which is time and time is money.

Hi Chase, my mother is collecting Steuben ART GLASS stuff. If it's and original Steuben, there is a lot of copy in that space, your fixture might be worth a few graded charizard!!!

Steuben use to bring crazy money, some of the Rare Vintage signed Steuben stuff still does, I haven't seen a piece like that one in years I would not let it go cheap if you find it is signed Steuben But make sure it signed Steuben before listing it as a signed Steuben piece as the Steuben Collectors are very fussy and there were a lot of reproductions and fakes made. Also I have edited this since originally posting as I look up Steuben and prices have tanked steeply in resent years what use to bring $900 to $1400 is down to just a few hundred. So even though he might have paid $1200 it may only bring a couple hundred today? If you find that it is signed? I'd put it up on auction and start it at what ever your comfortable with and put all the info you have about it in the listing including what he originally paid for it. Good luck I look forward to seeing more updates on this haul and More!

I like watching the deep dives. Will the local auctions get generally less then sitting on and listing all the lower valued items?

I have been in a similar situation aswell. I have a shed full of stuff that I need to get through but I just can't seem to make progress. My biggest issue is the lack of space and also a lack of a good location to take pictures, also a ton of old items that are large, heavy and impossible to ship. Any good tips on what I could do ?

    • @catrpcrew
      @catrpcrew  2 ปีที่แล้ว

That can definitely be tough. Just continue to find the easy, quick selling items (and if they're high dollar that's a bonus too), and go from there. I'd be happy to give more insight over in the Discord!

Quick question does it really pay off to open a eBay store or just have a personal for a full time? I have a person now and do about 6-7k a month. Would it go up more if I opened a eBay store ? Or should I just keep goingn

Personally I would never consider using an auction house as their fee's are to high. We already pay eBay , Amazon and other online platforms their inflated fees why add more to the equation, you have some awesome inventory sell it on your eBay and amazon sites and grow your business there. Offer some to other resellers in your discord community and use wisdom in your business decisions. You seem like a very smart young business man, we're heading into a recession you may need some of that inventory to fall back on like at the start of Covid when it was hard to source inventory or get it delivered when you did find it!
