    Hi Emily. Sorry to put this in the comments I wasn't sure how to send you a message. I know that now that you are probably back to teaching and playing at your usual pace you may not have time to do any more videos for us. However I wondered if you might possibly at least do the two other of your favorite books.. these have been so informative. I was never taught to use any of the books you've done yet and you have really instructed me so much. And now I'm using them regularly in my practice. Best wishes!!

      Hi Heidi, don’t worry - I haven’t forgotten the last 2 books of ‘My Favourite Books’ series 😄 But as you say, I’m busy back at work…. so please be patient a little while longer! 😉

    I am working on these now. I just discovered them 2 months ago. I printed out the circle of fifths / 4th and use that to try and do as many as I can without looking at the book. Like what you suggested with memorizing them. I also love all the different variations that you gave in this video I'm going to have to watch it a couple times and write them into my book period as always I just feel so honored to be getting lessons from you.

    I love these and your insights! Thank you for your encouraging reminder: “quality not quantity.” Sometimes, I like to sing roots of chords or the melodic lines while playing several of these exercise.

    Many thanks for this series of videos.
    I am finding that they are helping in increasing my understanding of what the authors intended as well as the reasons for the exercises.
    Still a long way to go but I feel like the videos are helping me take a step forward.

      I can't guess the books behind but I have 2 favourite flute exercics books :
      1)taffanel and Flaubert 17 big daily finger exercics
      2) Moyse tone development through interpretation
      In addition, I practice some chapters of Trevor wye's practice books for flute,

    Thank you so much for these videos and giving us such insight into how to practice these exercises. I have one quick question: What is that lovely melody at the begining of the video. It is so pretty and I would love to add it to my repertoire! Thank you again!

    In general, how to know if I must begin with GA DA... or DA GA...? The beginning with GA... issu more difficultés fort me, why ? Thanks for your 2 answer

    • @EmilyBeynonflute
      @EmilyBeynonflute  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find practising GA DA very helpful for even-ing out the double tonguing - it makes the GA (naturally weaker and more difficult) stronger!
