  • There are three tram lines in Oradea, and these run together for most of their journey. The lines are 1, 2 and 3. Lines 1 and 3 run together in a city loop, while Line 2 joins part of this loop in part of its journey. All quarters except Vie are served by trams. Trams do not actually run in the city centre, since this is a historic area with narrow streets. They do, however, run on the border of the city in a loop, and then continue through to all the residential areas and quarters.
In 2008 and 2009 10 new Siemens ULF trams were introduced to the Oradea tram system. The first Siemens tram was put in service in April 2008. (These are the same ones that run in Vienna, Austria)
In 2018, Oradea took delivery of 10 Tatra KT4D trams from the Berlin transport operator BVG.

Fun fact: The Siemens ULF trams are shorter than those from Vienna beacuse of the track conditions when they were purchased back then. Also the model is the A¹ if i'm not wrong.

Really weird to see modern trams that only have doors on one side.

Oradea's ULFs were not from Wien, because they were bought factory new.

@@tomaszkorycki7344 then why do they have the same colors as the ones from Vienna?

@@tomaszkorycki7344 They were new but were made for Wien. The company there agreed to give 8-10 since they were already built and wait for another batch, as a good will gesture to let Siemens honor the (smaller)order to Oradea faster. Those were the first new trams in the city for ages.
