When I was 11 I snuck in and saw Siouxsie & The Banshees, Echo and the Bunnymen, and New Order at a place called "The Pier" on the west side of NYC. Sent my life in an incredible direction, I must say :)
Wow, what a night! Well done! I saw Siouxsie & the Banshees and New Order separately but never got to see Echo and the Bunnymen. I did make myself an Echo t-shirt, but I naively used non-fabric markers, and the ink bled and stained my skin for weeks! I think I was 13 then. 🤣
Siouxsie Sioux loved Julie Driscoll and this was what made her want to cover the song. Unlike many so called Goth bands I hate that term the level of musicality and versatility of the Banshees is quite something that why they are so much more than goth. They were a musical tour de force!
Yes, that was the primary reason why she took on this cover, not knowing until later thanks to bassist Steve Severin that it was co-written by Bob Dylan and The Band's bassist/singer Rick Danko. When she realized that, Sioux almost dropped the idea of doing this song.
She is so iconic.. so underrated in the 80s .. finally getting love today..I had a wall size poster of her in my room in high school..I was in love.. lol
I never dreamed in a million years a Dylan song would be covered by a goth band, but I should have known better because Siouxsie does this all the time. Also, her fashion is killer.
@@zeddeka Circular reasoning 🥱 Anyways, I'll bite. What exactly makes Siouxsie punk and not goth despite Siouxsie being an icon of goth culture for decades? Also, wasn't goth culture an offspring of the punk movement anyways, thus making your attempt at gatekeeping her as punk redundant?
The rich, beautiful, but evil Disney villain vibe she is giving off in this amazing ensemble gives me life. She really has it all.
amen!

I love this version, I don't know why no one here cares about both Siouxsie and The Band.
And Bob
@@BlandMarkComedy Good point
I’m too mesmerized by her…
I’m here, my guy. Love them both!
I love Siouxsie the Queen ♥️

Who wore it better? Siouxsie. Always.
Who else wore it??
@@Dead_in__side__ Garth Hudson lololol
I love Steven in his shades and Nehru jackets!
Brilliant version. Plus Siouxsie is sexy as hell here. Great band 👌
She makes Bowie blush and jealous
Beautiful Siouxsie.....💋💋💋
Siouxsie looks like goth Mrs Claus in this clip. Don't forget to leave out absinthe and clove cigarettes before you go to bed on Gothmas Eve.
Great cover! And how amazing does she look here? WOW!
If anyone ever looked astonishing in shoulder pads and beads it was Sioux.
This is the best version of this song. The other versions are so disjointed and clunky, it's hard to believe they came to this conclusion. Bravo
Y’all when I was teen there was no TH-cam I was obsessed with them and never saw them perform. This is blowing my mind
This outfit always make me relate this video to Christmas
The whole album especially gun makes me think of Christmas as a kid
Same!
Lets hope we see more Siouxsie soon.
I hope we do 😔
The One and Only Siouxsie!! Fabulous! xxx
This was about half a year after I saw them play live!
Makes me wanna watch Ab Fab again.
La Siouxie Perfection +

Bonita canción, no sabia que era un cover, la encontre, gracias a la app shazam. Yo la tengo en cassette y nunca supe como se llamaba.

WOW!!!!!😅😎
Wow they were able to take a bob dylan song and actually make it something worth listening do
LOL, they definitely blew Dylan out of the water. The song was actually written by Satan
kkkk
@@megalodonseancasey8429 haven’t you heard the bands version of the song? Now that is something worth listening to!
you have the voice of ignorance.
Best comment possible for this song! She killed it. He is unbearable to listen to.
Love siouxie Sioux
I always thought she was wearing a santa hat in this. it's not a santa hat.
Driscoll has the edge methinks
Definitely.
This makes me want to bedazzle a fanny pack. 💞🤔💞😎😂 And load it with dynamite.

We will meet again.. Very soon..

Siouxie has a cameo in a documentary on the Sex Pistols..before she had her own band.
She was standing behind them during the infamous Bill Grundy interview.
it's not live
Amusing, lightweight attempt to resurrect the Julie Driscoll - Brian Auger Trinity version....mostly glitz here.
Yummy.
It is because the newkirk family will not back off of me
Leg length.
Almost as good as the "original" by Driscoll/Auger ...
Terrible. Poor Siouxsie.
Why ?
My MurdərParty Because the earlier version of this group was far better.
The earlier stuff was good, but this is not terrible.
