Every one of them were masters of their craft, I saw this show in England if it was the one headlined by Otis, it was awesome and the best soul show I have ever seen.
Thank You Lord for Sam and Dave and their God given talents who was a huge influence on some of our northwest bands of the 1960s, Bands like Don & the goodtimes !!!
IM 66 YEARS OLD BORN AND RAISED IN BROWNSVILLE BROOKLYN NEW YORK CITY GROWING UP EVER SINCE I WAS 8 YEARS OLD MY PARENTS WHEN THEY WERE ALIVE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ALL USED TO CALL ME DAVE PRATER EVEN TILL THIS DAY
I do believe this Stax concert was filmed in Oslo on the 7th of April 1967. Yours truly was there and 15 years old and I knew that was a watershed moment for my generation. Just fantastic!!!
The legendary Memphis sound of Stax backing Sam & Dave w Booker T & the MG's (Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, & the incomparable Al Jackson, Jr.) and the Mar-Keys on horns...
Look at Duck back there! 10' tall and bullet proof. Cropper cool as always. Can you imagine the high those guys were feeling? The Otis and friends tour is prob one of the greatest catalysts for jump starting the R&B stax sound world wide. Sam is still tearing it up Cropper is still the coolest. When he talks about this its like he just hit a few licks with some kids in the garage. The man is co responsible for nearly every song otis sam and dave arthur conley and booker t did. Most musicians are lucky if they touched 5 or 6 songs that were powerful. These guys were writing orchestrating then recording the next morning.cropper said he and otis would sometimes get 10 songs out a night! And record the next morning. Rip Duck. God bless all of you guys
6:25 - Steve Cropper - who plays like a god throughout - delivers a solo that is nothing short of poetic - as are his actions and facial expression. Pure class rising out of the funky steamy soil of STAX!!!
@@wilsonwalker1181 hi Wilson. I’m doing fine. Hope you are too. I got a kick out of Sam and Dave trying to get those Germans or Danes, or whatever they were to ramp it up. Hahaha
I've watched videos from the 66 and 67 tours, this backing band from 66 is definitely tighter. Just discovered that 'band' is Booker T. And The MGs... no wonder they're so good.
I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
I love that 16mm camera filming between the dancers and the performers... And when you are a real artist, you don´t need Autotune like that crap called "Trap". In fact the real name of that shit must to be "Crap" instead "Trap".
Silly me. The Mar-Keys. Steve Cropper: guitar Lewie Steinberg or Duck Dunn: bass Marvell Thomas, Booker T. Jones and (after mid-1964) Isaac Hayes: keyboards Wayne Jackson, Floyd Newman, Gilbert Caple, Packy Axton and (from 1964), Andrew Love: horns Al Jackson Jr..: drums (from 1962)
In this video: Booker T. Jones organ; Al Jackson, Jr. drums; Donald "Duck" Dunn bass; Steve Cropper guitar; Wayne Jackson trumpet; Andrew Love and Joe Arnold saxophone.
ワンカメでノーカットなのにこの臨場感と満足感!
当時のソウルの雰囲気がよく味わえる素晴らしい映像です。
Hold on I'm coming defined Soul for me, it is perfection👌👍

The Memphis sound was pure magic. Totally undiminished by time.

They were and still are the best , from a 75 year old
I just love me some Dave Prater, Jr. That’s it, that’s all. 😍
Love this song. My favorite Sam and Dave. The old low quality video seems kind of artsy now.
These guys were the best American goodwill Ambassadors in the World in their era.
AMAZING SONG 👌🎸🎶 VERY NICE! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

They could out sing and dance any group in the industry! Dave Prater was probably the best dancer of them all! Damn!
They owned it, every performance
Hello Ssndy Jett. How are you doing?
When performers could actually sing...and had to be athletes to be on stage for two hours..
Hello Cathay McRae. How are you doing?

Absolutely flawless performance. We’re so lucky it was recorded!
Always great and never better...Sam and Dave!
Great footage.
Nobody could touch these brothers in their prime, nobody. Love watching Duck Dunn tearing it up behind David.
We danced to this song in 1966 at an “ out door “ party !! Still sounding Great !!!!

When the heck are we going to have a "Sam and Dave" movie???????????????
Sort of did, it was called "The Blues Brothers". :-)
Look around - there's definitely a documentary or two...
It would be monumentally difficult to find two actors to portray Sam and Dave.
The Movie is long overdue, and it would be very nice to honor Sam Moore while he is here!! RIP Mr. Dave Prager.
The BEST ever......
Wow, what Soulpower. These guys are the best.
Quelle pêche ! LA musique !!!!! Parfait, génial, superfétatoire, heures heures !!!
This is soul at its best
Steve Cropper was and still “ A BAD White Boy !!
Some of the EST just loves these songs

Where is the music guys? Where is the music,,,?
Nobody today comes close
Did Sam and Dave ever work with James Brown?
I was barely a teen when they started. Because of Stax artists I learned on great life rule - Rock is better with horns
My,my,my ..............
Only thing was missing is Paul Williams and David ruffing
0 can touch them. Riveting performance.
Righteous! Who's playing in the band?
Silly me. The Mar-Keys.
Steve Cropper: guitar
Lewie Steinberg or Duck Dunn: bass
Marvell Thomas, Booker T. Jones and (after mid-1964) Isaac Hayes: keyboards

ヒップホップの原点ここにありって感じです!
dommage ..trop mal filmé.....
Vraiment? I liked the filming, all the close-ups. Only one problem - too SHORT!!! ;-)
Stax was so much better than Motown
Showmen ! You don’t have that today !
