Dave Sullivan's HO Scale Layout! A Work In Progress But Very Impressive!

- Dave Sullivan is meticulous HO scale modeler and craftsman. Although his layout is under construction, mostly in bench work, what Dave has done so far is very impressive. All Dave's track and switches are hand laid with individually stained wood ties from Mt. Albert. His scratch build structures are also world class, with a heavy influence from George Sellios. As Dave moves on with this incredible project stay with my channel for future videos as the layout progresses. Do you need help with and existing layout or starting a new layout? If So contact me at alpug1@verizon.net to see how I may be of assistance.
Very clean and realistic. Beautiful work.
What a project and what a talent to construct it. Please keep updating us on the layout progress.
this is absolutely stunning work!!! my deepest respect to the builder
Wow, looks terrific already. Building’s are beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more
The understated weathering on the buildings is perfection.
That's some fantastic structure scratch and kit building right there.
That's a layout right out of my dreams. Great work Dave!
this is the best detail work ive ever seen
Looking forward to his progress. Love what he has done so far.
Beautiful work. Best color sense I've seen.
Amazing layout. God bless him. Can’t wait to see more.
@HartfordWhaler thank you hope to decide to subscribe. He works alone so progress will be slow but I will stay up on it

Thanks for sharing an in-progress layout like this. Love seeing all of the benchwork and learning the techniques. While I love the finished layout tours, I learned a lot more from this hearing him talk about techniques.
That is museum quality there. Extraordinary, thanks for sharing
I just stumbled upon this video while I'm assembling target signals for the Monterey & Salinas Valley Railroad Museum's HO layout. WOW! At first, I was going to pass it up, but this is the type of quality modeling I strive for at the museum and upon my own "layout in progress". I took over scenery on the M&SVR two and a half years ago where my first goal was to cover (finish) bare plywood areas still to do created after 25 years. Prior modeling was good; but my aspirations are far greater for us and on my own 16'x17', double decked, D&RGW Arkansas River Route here at home. Too much to drool over now here, but you both raised to same concern. All three of us are in our 60's. I enter my 70's next September. So far, I've missed out being featured in any model railroad periodical since my dreams of that in "Student Faire" in Model Railroader in the early 70's. Are we going to live long enough to see our dreams come true. Or will we be just enjoying the trip as we go, hoping my children and grandchildren won't have to tear down dad's and grandpa's never completed work? I believe I have another GOOD 25 years left; but I converted to DCC in 2015 (to run on the M&SVR and my own someday) in 2015. I have yet to run a train! DCC just ain't breaking though to my DC brain. Looking foreword to more of Dave's layout! It will keep me alive out of spite!
@randallhawkinson4727 thanks please subscribe no cost to do so helps the channel
Dave could easily design kits for manufacturers, some of the finest work out there. If that breaker was a kit, I would buy 1 for sure.
Good layout.
Absolutely amazing.
Those buildings are awesome to look at, the mine is also awesome. A master work
Just astounding. That city scene is beyond amazing.

Fine scale structure building at its best. Very impressive modelling. Inspirational……
Stunning layout! I'm looking forward to updates on this!
Your work has a touch of the late John Allen's work. very nice.
Stunning layout!
Never enough layouts, good luck my friend,
Another awesome layout.
That is going to be exquisite! That could end up rivaling some of the best layouts ever made....in that first "city" type section...were the foreground buildings HO and the background N? Looked like it to me...looked like a perspective trick. And the wall color is fabulous!
So inspiring! Love it!
Thank you hope you can subscribe free to do so
I wish I knew how to make miniatures like this. I'd love to have a little town diorama set up somewhere.
Nice
Oh wow. This is gonna be amazing. I wonder what the speed of the build will be 🤔
impressive
Show him 'Norm's Trains' channel.
He is running a O scale 1950's Pennsylvania layout. Very detailed.
I would love to know the distance from the inside track to the wall. How much width is there? 12"?
My basement is smaller, and I'm only just starting and I'm over 60. So, I guess I'll have to settle for something slightly less ambitious!
@goupigoupi6953 perhaps but if you can find others in the hobby that live near you to help many also do that. I know Dave in the video has many retired friends helping him although he built the mine himself. You don't need to go it alone unless you prefer to

Where can I find built structures with this level of craftsmanship for sell?
@JesusGonzalez-qb6vs shows. Something professonally built to that level can easily cost more than many used cars
@@alpugliesetrains9753 Hi there! Thanks for getting back to me! Yes, i’m aware. I built architectural scale models for some years and i’m familiar with the cost and effort that it takes to build a scale model. I would love to know where can I find scale miniatures already built since this is one of my passions, but I do not have the time right now to build them myself.
@@JesusGonzalez-qb6vs Howard Zane and I build in HO or O scales only go to my Playlist then items for sale to see them. We build his designs but dont build buildings from photos or plans we choose to build what he designs.
@@alpugliesetrains9753 Thank you, Al! Will do.
Incredible!
