In case anyone is confused about how Erza was able to counter the hypnosis, it's not an asspull. Erza has a fake eye. It's been there ever since Laxus was an anti hero character. When him and his squad attacked FT, all the FT ladies were turned into stone by Evergreen except only Erza was able to break the spell as she has one fake eye which enables her to be only under half the effect of visual magics, making it easier for her to break free from such spells.
Fr, even his normal techniques at that point should have caused more damage than that based on last season. It just seems like the whole team is back to their strength of season 1
The author/writer often forgets some power -up ability or skills of main and side characters LOL😂 Even the new characters that he introduced to be next level threat to the main characters/ story only to get "one shot skill" by the power of friendship after few chapters later on hahaha
They got their magic from eating dragons, not Dragon Slayers. Guiltina was the last refuge for the remaining dragons hiding from Acnologia until Diabolos' guild master wiped them out.
Erza broke the spell via eye contact? This is either a retcon or something established? If it is the former it is obvious the writer has found new ways to make Erza ridiculously OP.
Its her fake eye, Ezra has had an effective counter tho spells that involve eye contact, and Kiria's strength slash is actually hypnosis which is in the realm of eye contact magic in Fairy Tail. Its also why she has a strong counter to illusions based on sight when she fought Midnight.

Natsu still uses the fire dragon king moves, but he uses them away from others cause he'll burn them.

Natsu doesn't mind property damage but those close to him he holds his best moves away so they're not caught up as collateral
