1. There is no reason for Thor to believe the Vikings are a First round exit team. 2. Flores will likely be gone next year; strike while the iron is hot. 3. Your idea of O'Neil to left tackle, Brandel to Right tackle, and Risner to left guard has more moving parts than a chop shop.
Did Thor receive a concussion and forget the first 5 games? The reason he's so salty is because he'll have very little to discuss draftwise for the Vikes for the next few years.
Lets settle down Viking Nation. We lost to arguably the best team in the NFC and in the Top 2 teams in the NFL conversation, and its hard to win on the road in this league. I dont care what people say, the Rams are not a crappy team especially at home, with injured players returning. I know none of us were thinking 5-2 at this point in the season. We have the “softer” part of the schedule lets play this out and see what happens. Skol!!!!
We're losing draft capital, but we're staying committed to winning. Trying to play it too safe, that's how you can lose a locker room. With that said, it will be a blunder if the team doesn't repay the commitment with some more winning, and winning a playoff game or two. It's a risk, but I would rather them make the risk than stand pat just for the sake of not wanting to give up picks. I like the balls of it, it's a big balls move.
I love Thor, but this is so dumb. Conditional 5th is 2026 is meaningless. This move will help them make the playoffs THIS YEAR. He cares too much about late round picks that usually don't pan out anyway. Great move
Thor is the draft guru no doubt, but to not make a much needed trade and give up on this team at 5-2?? You don’t get this opportunity often after such a great start
We don’t know what ownership is telling them to do as far as in season acquisitions, regarding dobbs and etc. so to say Kwesi needs to not make certain trades but in reality ownership is saying you must do something to not fall or you are fired.
Thor's argument only makes sense from the perspective of a fan watching from his couch. KOC will never stand in front of the team and say "Hey guys, I don't think we are winning the Super bowl this year so let's punt on the season, hold on to our draft picks and try again next year". Building a winning culture is way more important than keepin day 3 picks
The trade was fine. 4th-7th round picks are such a crapshoot. There are also too many variables. What if Flores leaves next year and the defense becomes terrible. Lions are a juggernaut for sure but what if Goff goes down with an injury all the sudden this trade doesn’t look as bad.
Draft pick are so overrated!! I would rather have someone I know can play than Lewis Cine, Andre Booth, Ed Ingram, Kellen Mond, Wyatt Davis, Chazz Surrat etc. etc etc. all these were 1st, 2nd and 3rd picks. Thors take is totally WRONG!
We are 5-2 take a breathe thor. Who are we scaring in the playoffs? Id say a lot of teams based off the nfc this season. Lets not forget a lot of teams are still figuring things out. The dramatic panic is unnecessary
It's weird to go from hearing Thor talking about the Vikings receiving a 3rd round comp pick for Sam Darnold, completely ignoring all the cap the Vikings have in the offseason; to shooting down the argument that Cam Robinson will get the Vikings a comp pick because of all the salary they have to spend in the offseason, AND in the same breath saying that the general public doesn't know much about the comp pick process. I think several people here made the argument weeks ago that Sam Darnold wouldn't net the Vikings a comp pick because they'll use their salary to sign FAs and off-set it. I like the Thor episodes a lot but this feels like gaslighting.
Totally understand Thor's trepidation and preference to hold onto draft assets. As someone who values and appreciates the draft process (like Thor), it's a common fallacy/overlooked issue we have where we overvalue draft picks that mean nothing but "hope" until they're spent and more often than not result in less than desirable outcomes Finally, I'd implore Thor to consider Kwesi's approach to team building with respect to draft picks when he makes claims about the lack of day 3 picks...let's dive a bit deeper: 1. No draft pick is a guaranteed hit and certainly day 3 picks stand less of a chance of hitting 2) Kwesi understands this and he's clearly shown his cards that he values and prioritizes building the Vikings Roster with known commodities or ones that stand the best chance (statistic and probability models) to succeed, typically found in the top of the NFL Draft As such, Kwesi doesn't value day 3 picks when he can pony up more UDFA funds than other teams for equal chance dart throws in UDFA as those late day 3 picks Rather, what Kwesi values are those premium picks in order to take more calculated dart throws at the top of the draft board with more obvious talent, which bodes for better chances of successful draft selections Thus Thor, what Cam Robinson represents (even if I too didn't love the move), is a chance to be competitive with a known commodity at LT and avoid compromising the other spots of the OL moving Brandel and what not Glad to have discourse with Thor at any time regarding this because I understand most don't seem to understand or view the Vikings Roster building in this way thanks to Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
Boxing himself into what? He traded away a conditional pick for a guy who's going to sign a contract with another team next year so most likely get that pick back with a comp pick in 2026. I don't understand what people are upset about? Plus it's for a guy who's in football shape/condition and has been playing relatively well as of late
They're not getting two picks if he signs with another team. And whatever comp pick they'll end up getting will probably be worse than the one they gave up. Would fucking suck if he, like, retires after the season... 😂
Thor is so lock step with my thoughts it's like we share the same brain...which could be a problem for Thor. I mentioned on the PD episode that covered the trade that I "understood" why the Vikings made the deal, but this is not a SB caliber team IMO with or without Cam Robinson and a 4th round pick is fairly valuable so I wouldn't have made the trade. I'm not going to hammer Kwesi for doing so, but depleting yet another draft for a player who isn't going move the needle enough probably isn't the prudent move.
lol Thor thinks first round exit is our best case scenario?? Wow dude…HORRIBLE take. We DOMINATED good teams and went 5-0, then our first loss was by a last second field goal against the supposedly best team in the league. Way overreacted to the last two “close” losses
Ya think? You haven't seen anything. Just wait until Flacco smokes their fraudulent defense. You'll see the entire state of MN call for heads to roll! KOC can't make real time adjustments when they get kicked in the teeth. If it's not a scripted play, he can't adjust. Detroit and LA exposed that, and other teams are now going to exploit that. Indy had the best O line in the NFL. You think this D is gonna get pressure on Flacco? 😂
@ lol horrible take. Every team is going to have losses. So I guess Tampa Bay EXPOSED Detroit bc they lost to them. Raiders exposed the Ravens lol. Vikings EXPOSED Green Bay, Niners, Texans…you don’t know football.
@jaredpribyl I've been watching this team for 40yrs. If anybody can start 5-0, and then completely shit the bed, it's this team. Are people overreacting? Yes. Are their feelings warranted? You're damn right.
I would be curious to ask Thor if he would be interested in us giving this year‘s first, next year‘s first, for Dexter Lawrence. A fifth round pick this year for D.J Reed from the jets. Cap wise, we could do it but that would only leave us with a third and a fifth round pick in this upcoming 2026 draft . Love the show guys! Skol!!
Can you imagine the havoc Dexter Lawrence would create...offenses will have to dbl team him more than they would like to giving our linebackers lanes to shoot through....in a perfect world.
Nfl fans are so fickle man haha we lost two games in a row, and now people want us to sell everything and throw in the towel. There’s 17 games for a reason - you don’t run through this league with no losses. Not saying the Vikes are going to win the Super Bowl, but the idea that the season is over is ridiculous. There’s one team better than the Vikings in the NFC. That fact alone means you try to win
@threedeep Maybe so. They need a DT something fierce IMO. They could barely get a glimpse of Stafford while blitzing frantically. That shouldn't happen. The offense is not doing well either, but they can fix it I think. Eagles, 9ers, Washington is no joke, along with GB. I think as things stand as of now, rating them as the second best in the NFC is not accurate. I would say top 7 until I see them play efficiently, less penalties, less three and outs, better play calling, more qb pressure, better run ability. There's no consistency.
@@moetown_2088 Can't pay everyone. Plus he's had off field issues, he's been getting multiple pre-snap penalties, And if he and his family are going to start complaining that he's not getting the ball enough. He's trying to play it down but he made the social media post. And so did his dad. I say get as much as you can for him . Send him somewhere he'll get the ball more and draft another young receiver. If the receiver diva starts coming out, trade them and draft another. If a player isn't happy, they will hurt more then help the team. If he's happy, great keep him for now. But they will still have to trade him before his contract is up.
Thor is not taking into account that the Vikings could switch back to being good just as fast as they switched to being bad after a 5-0 start. You add Hock back in there, we get Cashman back, Flo makes some tweaks.. They cut down on some penalties.. We are right back in this thing. Judd is right that the team deserves a chance after such an impressive start. You can’t just leave it up to Quessenberry.
I definitely enjoy when Thor comes in the show, but I don’t agree with him on this particular take, especially when that pick we used to get Cam is 2 drafts from now. Enjoy having him on for sure!
I respect Thor and rarely disagree with him. But I 1. Don't think they gave up much and 2. Believe we got off to a good enough start to justify going on a run deep into the playoffs. As long as Darnold stays healthy, we are good and Super Bowl is not impossible with this roster & start.
Why hasn’t anyone mentioned that we need a left tackle for at least nine games next year until Darrisaw is ready to go. So we pay Robinson, provided he’s played well enough for us.
Judd: They haven't "solved" the LT "problem," but the Robinson acquisition certainly shows they haven't thrown in the towel. Yes, it's obviously a rental. It at least it gives us hope to remain competitive with the roster we have. It gives the impression the Wilfs continue to press the "chip n' a chair" methodology for the playoffs; so let's go, and why not get some DL help !
I was saying the same as Thor … great minds think alike .. if the offense stalling with CD … Cam isn’t saving the offense.. should’ve been spent on the defense, our bread and butter
What are you talking about they didn't lose anything in that trade!! Thor is cool but he comes across as the smartest guy in the room at times and it gets annoying
How can these Vikings fans sit by and watch their GM whiff on draft after draft and trade away all their picks? And for all the “Kwesi is good at getting FAs,” people, you know what happens to all-FA teams? They have paper-thin depth and fall off when injuries set in. Vikings will NEVER win the super bowl if they can’t draft.
Thor is regressing. It is not easy to flip sides at tackle. Why move an all pro to the left side, now you have a gaping hole in right tackle? You aren’t sure how Oniell works out at LT.
The draft is thors SB, he clouded by that. This trade does not compare to the Dobbs trade. Losing a qb is a death nail, left tackle while important isn’t the same and you can replace which they did. This team to judds point has also earned it by banking wins and have looked dominate at times. U play to win when you have a chance. I don’t know how anyone can say we don’t have a chance at being the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NFC…and if that is true, which it is, there is a chance of a SB. Tomorrow is not guaranteed and McCarthy is not the guarantee this show makes him out to be. If they are wrong about him, 2024 might be our window.
I tend to disagree with Thor in that with this particular front office at least, they hit much better on free agents than draft picks. Thor's envisioning all these 4-year contracts as people that are working out but after 3 years we see that many of them don't work out. I think it's much smarter to get a sure thing then to spend a lot of time on draft picks that aren't going to work out. Of course that does raise a question on how does The front office figure out how to pick better in the draft.
Problem with that logic is.. you can't keep leaning on FAs to bail you out by making you a good team that way. You don't have an infinite cap space to build a team by doing that.
@@duhk9018It's not mathematically any different. The difference is what you would pay your rookies if you knew how to draft versus what kind of free agents and undrafted fa's can you get at the same cap hit as the rookie deals. The draft is just a bonus it seems , so far any ways. Drafting a QB was the cherry on top, if he pans out.
@@nathanromero4263 It is mathematically different. You pay people high amount of dollars in FA (including those you're retaining) because they're good. You have a finite amount of cap space to spend on players. If you can't draft players to actually contribute to help your team win, you then can only rely on FAs to win games. You can't build a 53 team with just FAs nor can your team can only be consisted of high paying dollars of players..
I'm with Judd 100%. This was a plus trade all the way around. You play to win, not give up because a guy goes down. I've started to get over this "only look to the future" mentality. If you keep looking at tomorrow then you'll never play for today, so why bother? You are never going to have a complete roster 100% ready no matter how far into the future you look.
ok UNLESS they're planning a big trade for say...dexter lawrence...and then wouldn't be as big of spenders in free agency next off season. comp pick formula would work more in our favor then (i just can't let the dexter lawrence thing go 😂)
JJ McCarthy is tantamount to a locked-in 2025 draft pick. And Kwesi can trade '26 picks for an additional '25 pick. And NaJee Thompson and Mekhi Blackmon are two other you contributors not on this Non-Super Bowl quality 53-man roster.
It's always next year with this team... McCarthy isn't a sure thing next year. He will be a rookie all over again next year. If they don't do it now, it will be two or three years away. Take advantage of the wins this year that no one expected.
The more I listen to this episode the more Thor sounds like someone who's never played an organized sport a day in his life. Only dreaming someone might pick him for their pick up game
thors stance on not trading draft picks is always the same...hes against it...proven talent is worth more than maybes..kam ant drafted good either so why not get proven talent when its possible
How can I get one of those cups in New York state, home of the former Minnesota Twins AAA Baseball. Fan since 1978, just one before I die please 🙏 SKOL 💜💛🏈
This doesn't make Kwesi look good. Let's look at this thing logically, this offseason leading up to this year was a failure. They knew Aaron Jones had a injury history, also they knew what kind of runner Ty Chandler is . So you wait to trade for Cam Akers in season. Also you know Quessenbery wasn't a great LT backup, why not upgrade that in the offseason. I'm with Thor I didn't like the trades. I thought they could've signed free agents off the streets to solved both positions they traded for. KOC and Kwesi better finish the season strong if not both can be gone.
If I have to hear Darnold say OBVIOUSLY another 50x in every press conference, I'm going to barf!!! Obviously someone needs to take him aside and say find something else to say dude!
Who would have thought a guy that makes his living making draft content doesn’t like the Vikings trading away draft capital…. I’m absolutely shocked🙄 Thor consistently overvaluing draft capital gets old. Freaking out about a day 3 pick two years from now
I agree with Judd on the trade. The other thing is Kwesi has one more year on his contract he doesn't give a rats behind about 2026 until he gets an extension and will actually know he'll be here.
Kwesi sucks. His in season moves are fine, and UDFA classes are good. His most important job is nailing the draft, which he hasn’t even come close. His best draft pick to date is probably Addison, who you guys are suggesting we trade. Other than that his best pick has been a kicker. Jury is still out on Turner. There has been zero contribution from any of his other picks. The last 3 drafts have been miserable.
I cant believe you have Vikings fans in here agreeing with a dude who thinks a team that is a 5-2 team in a NFC thats wide open is only good for a one and done in the playoffs?! Wth is wrong with these fans that trade was for a day 3 special teams player at best lol we get it you love the 25 version of this team but we're not playing for next year dude you focus on the now and Thor is just yappin at this point he know dang well Robinson isnt below average 😂😂😂 and dude stop crying about a draft from two years ago the team now is setup for success Kwesi has cleaned up alot of mess mainly salary from the last regime. And think about he could still actually bring in a blue chip trade before the deadline what's there to argue about?!!
Thor, it was a fifth round pick in 2026. Not a fourth. Not sure what's more embarrassing for Thor, the fact that he can't pronounce very easy to pronounce names like "Darnold" and "Lewis" or the fact that he gets very simple facts wrong.
Thor if you didn’t like the Cam trade b😮ckle up buckoo. You have’nt seen noth😅ng yet. This is the first time I felt that Thor sounds like a know it all windbag. Prediction we beat Colts they will acquire a defens😮ve player. Skol!
Why do you guys always use words that are not going to make any players in the locker room feel good about themselves. Like (rental player) just sayings like that. As a Viking fan we don’t like to hear stuff like that. We as fans are mostly all in with our team. No matter who is on it.SKOL VIKINGS

2) Kwesi understands this and he's clearly shown his cards that he values and prioritizes building the Vikings Roster with known commodities or ones that stand the best chance (statistic and probability models) to succeed, typically found in the top of the NFL Draft
As such, Kwesi doesn't value day 3 picks when he can pony up more UDFA funds than other teams for equal chance dart throws in UDFA as those late day 3 picks
Rather, what Kwesi values are those premium picks in order to take more calculated dart throws at the top of the draft board with more obvious talent, which bodes for better chances of successful draft selections
Thus Thor, what Cam Robinson represents (even if I too didn't love the move), is a chance to be competitive with a known commodity at LT and avoid compromising the other spots of the OL moving Brandel and what not
Glad to have discourse with Thor at any time regarding this because I understand most don't seem to understand or view the Vikings Roster building in this way thanks to Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
With the low amount of draft picks and poor drafting at some point we will be heavily relying on over paying for free agents to plug holes.

They’re not getting a comp pick back for him. This was a 4th round pick for a 10 game rental.
Because people value picks more than actual players

How can these Vikings fans sit by and watch their GM whiff on draft after draft and trade away all their picks? And for all the “Kwesi is good at getting FAs,” people, you know what happens to all-FA teams? They have paper-thin depth and fall off when injuries set in. Vikings will NEVER win the super bowl if they can’t draft.
Facts 👌
i think that's a question for the wilfs....not the fans
Thor is regressing. It is not easy to flip sides at tackle. Why move an all pro to the left side, now you have a gaping hole in right tackle? You aren’t sure how Oniell works out at LT.
Oh yeah let’s change the entire offensive line 7 games in. You have no clue. Judds take is spot on.
IT'S NOT ABOUT THE CEILING OF THE TEAM THOR! It's about Sam not getting murdered and the season being a total wash
I guess we can only make trades if we are guaranteed to make the Super Bowl.
Kwesi is doing a mini f them picks. Or it also can be called a competitive f them picks.
If this team isn't a SB contender in his eyes than they will never be.
ONLY if we land a dominant DT then it’s worth to give up future picks.
Kwesi gives away draft picks like he's giving out tips in Las Vegas coming off a heater...5-7 ok but keep your top 4 picks
Its a 4th round swap with a 7th round in 2026 for 10 games plus playoffs, absolutely WORTH it.
it is not a 4th round swap
It's a 5th for a 7th, UNLESS he plays enough, in which case it becomes a 4th with no 7th. For a rental. Absolutely NOT worth it.
If we sign the guy, then we can trade him for picks. Multiple picks if he does awesome for the balance of 2024.
I have a feeling Houston is inquiring about Jordan Addison 🤑
ok UNLESS they're planning a big trade for say...dexter lawrence...and then wouldn't be as big of spenders in free agency next off season. comp pick formula would work more in our favor then (i just can't let the dexter lawrence thing go 😂)
JJ McCarthy is tantamount to a locked-in 2025 draft pick.
And Kwesi can trade '26 picks for an additional '25 pick.
And NaJee Thompson and Mekhi Blackmon are two other you contributors not on this Non-Super Bowl quality 53-man roster.
Trade saves Darnolds ass also good trade in my eyes. Thore just wants all the resources for when McCarthy is rocking
It's always next year with this team...
McCarthy isn't a sure thing next year.
He will be a rookie all over again next year. If they don't do it now, it will be two or three years away. Take advantage of the wins this year that no one expected.
Who’s the Keytar player guest today?
The more I listen to this episode the more Thor sounds like someone who's never played an organized sport a day in his life. Only dreaming someone might pick him for their pick up game
Kwesi is thinking F them picks!
Thus is not like the Rams at all. Rams were throwing out 1st round picks right and left.
Can trade back and get more picks if we need them. I think giving up a mid round pick for a starter at LT is a good idea.
Draft picks are toss ups. Let’s live in the now and reality of what is in front of us. Not the hypotheticals about a draft pick that we may make.
thors stance on not trading draft picks is always the same...hes against it...proven talent is worth more than maybes..kam ant drafted good either so why not get proven talent when its possible
What is Thor talking about. He doesn’t think this Vikings teams scares anyone. This guy is totally off
How can I get one of those cups in New York state, home of the former Minnesota Twins AAA Baseball.
Vikings draft terrible good move don’t care if they trade all there draft picks
Kwesi making moves to save his job...a winning record and a playoff appearance will get him and KOC new contracts.
One problem with Thors rebutle, KAM can't pick good players.
Omg why are people so butt hurt by a 5th possible 4th round pick
If I have to hear Darnold say OBVIOUSLY another 50x in every press conference, I'm going to barf!!! Obviously someone needs to take him aside and say find something else to say dude!
I'm with Thor. Sick of trading away the future for a playoff birth with a first round exit and ruining next year's draft. AGAIN
I see Thors point but i think kwesi can get these mid round picks back if he really needs to
Cam was a good move, but Akers made no sense. Why not just go after Travis Etienne, he is riding the bench.
Cam Robinson, not Akers
They go way overboard on kissing his ass. Have him on during the draft month as he knows it well. That's plenty of Thor.
We went from a GM that couldn’t draft a QB, to a team that can’t draft anything. 😂
Who would have thought a guy that makes his living making draft content doesn’t like the Vikings trading away draft capital…. I’m absolutely shocked🙄 Thor consistently overvaluing draft capital gets old. Freaking out about a day 3 pick two years from now
KNOCK OFF MCCARTHY JERSEY GUY CRYING ABOUT TRADING AWAY LATE ROUND PICK! LMAO
TRADE MAKES SENSE
Thor’s need to force the word inoculate into each week’s show is mind numbing. Especially since he apparently doesn’t know what that word means.
What are they gonna do, when McCarthy gets hurt next yr?
And kwesi is a burger flipper not a gm. My 3 yo grandson could draft better
Kwesi has proven he can't pick-em.....
Soooo he might as well trade-em!
Have they axed "Random Viking of the Week" ?
lets hope so
Thorsday!!
Thorsday!
Nice get up on Thorsday !!
Let's trade Addison for Simmons
Flip Flop, Flip Flop. Watch Thor do it again if the Vikings win the next three and are at 8-2
Thor, it was a fifth round pick in 2026.
Skol!
If thor stops studdering... ... we will win the superbowl. Damn!!!
So Thor’s good with shopping proven players for unproven draft picks
Why do you guys always use words that are not going to make any players in the locker room feel good about themselves. Like (rental player) just sayings like that. As a Viking fan we don’t like to hear stuff like that. We as fans are mostly all in with our team. No matter who is on it.SKOL VIKINGS
I agree ythat the Vikings are not superbowl bound this year, but I still like the trade. I am buying into a winning culture going into next year.
We have cap room, sign stud players instead of draft busts!
This trade was to keep Sam alive.
You’re over valuing late round picks
