Once you have seen Sylvie in a role, it is very difficult to see it with others. Every single movement of Sylvie in her great roles (Manon, Marguerite, Month in the country, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Winter Dreams, Bolero, Grand pas classique) is so strongly imprinted into my memory that I see Sylvie dancing in my mind while watching others - as much as I avoid seeing her ballets after her retirement...
No comparison possible! Fonteyn was a great ballerina, I saw her on stage once, but had neither the musicality nor the technical perfection of Sylvie Guillem.

Exactement, elle a réagi comme si cet incident faisait partie de la chorégraphie. Des nerfs et une volonté d'acier. Elle était unique!
