Woohooo... love that Noe encourages others to use their mobile phone for creative expression...that's encouraging for me 💚 thanx for this interview Nicole & Noe 💚👍🤩
@@Noealz Do you have a particular platform that you upload your cell phone pics to? What size do they have to be to be accepted? Shutterstock limits pic sizes to no less than 4mg. Thanks for any insight. :) Great interview with great tips. :)
@@connierobinson1682 I upload max res to Getty mostly, not so much shutterstock anymore because with Getty I work almost directly with larger companies (which pay more)
So great to have all this information! Seeing his IG feed and everything he's shot with just his phone is amazing. I don't think I'll be giving up my Sony anytime soon, but it's so great to know that the possibility is there for almost anyone who is interested in photography. Great collab video, Nicole!
The best camera is the one in your hand. Although not as successful as photos shot with my DSLR, I have sold iPhone photos as stock. Its great for food photos when I'm eating out, or if I'm traveling, I can post a few photos right away, instead of waiting until I get home to edit.
Tks, very valuable. Great work Nicole ! Made my day :).. To answer your questions, i only have a phone (iphone 7) for the moment, just doing for fun, and had my first sell last week ! Apple season in France at the moment, I was jogging in an orchard and took a chance :)
First MFB (metal for breakfast) and now Noe. You keep surprising me. I miss his English blogs but he still produces amazing content on subjects about his interests. Just saw the link to his other channel. I did not realize. Thanks Nicole.
I just had two photos rejected by Shutterstock for not being in focus. The pix were taken with an iPhone 6s. As photos, they were not bad. But when they were blown up 3X, you can see the fuzziness of the image. I was not too discouraged by being kicked out by the reviewer. I have a question concerning editorial stock. Do you find the demand for these photos less than the commerical pictures? It seems to me that the hurdles for editorial stock is far less than commerical.
Trying to determine if I need a model release for every photo of the same model, or if they were not taken on the same day, do you need one for each day? I’ve spent time reading the help & watching vids but have not found any info on this topic
I think technically you would, but it doesn't seem to be enforced. For example, I still use a release form that I filled out in early 2019 for photos that I took of myself a month ago. They were accepted.
Thank You For sharing all your info! Beginning photographer's love watching this kinda stuff! And, so do the Pro's! My best friend has a salt crystal lamp, just like your's.. Cool!
@@Panda-pu7qd Yeah the lamps emit positive ions. I also just love how they look and the ambience they create in the room. I have a selenite lamp too. :) And a bunch of crystals. @@NicoleGlass I'm Chris, I recently I took a trip to the ancient mayan pyramids! My photos, were shown to different groups of tourists from around the world, and a bunch zoomed in and said they could see a ufo over pyramid in 2 pic's. You're so right about the "dedicated passion for photography" part and your living proof! We'll, since I'm new, should I register copyright now for uploads; or does shutterpop own all rights after given? Thanks Nicole! (donation comming your way:)
@@Panda-pu7qd Aww you're so sweet thank you. About the copyright: You keep all of the rights to your images and you can resell them wherever you want to, even after uploading them to Shutterstock. @@NicoleGlass Agreed, ufo's over pyramids are very😎 the majority of people I showed them to, all agree on the ufo pic's. A couple think drones or birds maybe. Some great tips on cell phone photography, thanks:-) Guess I should start using my cellphone camera more often, people often said that I got 3 cameras on me referring to my cellphone camera.
Definitely! I was majorly inspired after doing some cell phone photography for this collaboration with Noe. I usually just use my camera but I’ll be using the phone more just to experiment :)
Some of my cell phone photos do sell in SS. However, I took them in raw (.dng) and edit them with Lightroom, so the results are not very different from DSLR photos.
Hi Nicole, Slightly off topic but probably intersting to many - Do you have any experience with clickasnap, the British pay by view site. It sounds good but ...
Look up Mike Browne's channel. He's one of only a few people I subscribe to and an awesome photographer. He promotes ClickaSnap and has a portfolio there. Even has some videos of him talking with it's founder Tom Oswald.
@@mikebriley81 No you won't make much from it, at least not yet. Just a few pennies. You'll make much more selling stock photos. Still it's in the early stages and they are growing as a company so who knows? In the future it might be a viable income stream.
My 💗 recently bought me a Samsung cellphone. The camera is so fancy & complex, I can't take videos. So my advice is, if u have any piece of equipment that ur using successfully: Before investing in new equipment, make sure u have a resource to show u how 2 USE that new equipment. Especially if ur relying on that as a source of income. Would love more tips on nighttime photography w/a cellphone. Thanks!
Hi Jolie, definitely good advice. Noe is an expert on night photography with a cell phone (he does tons of videos on that) so definitely check out his channel if you haven't already :).
Question :How do you upload many pictures all together? Especially when I use the same hashtags and categories there is no reason to do it one each time.
MAHALO. Enjoy UR Videos. Sold All My Canon L Glass & 5D MII -- now shoot exclusively with Samsung Galaxy S10+ and just bought Galaxy S8+ as my back-up camera. LEARN what you have! Few DSLR owners have ever read the manual, get off AUTO mode, and know more than 20% of the capabilities of their DSLR.
Feel free to follow him on Instagram @noealzii. I don't know too many details about how companies contact him. Noe has a great video that he released today in which he talks a little bit about getting photography sales/jobs through social media.
It can really vary. I've gotten as little as 25 cents and as much as several hundred dollars for one stock photo. There is the potential to earn more with video footage, yes.
hi been looking through your vids and can't see anything on how much you earn, before I binge watch your channel I need to know if this is a viable business, how possible is it to earn 10 k + a year ?
If you want to earn 10k plus a year then I would recommend focusing on video and uploading several thousand high quality 4K clips. It might take you several months to have that kind of quantity uploaded so it’s not a quick thing.
I use my phone for b roll and little camera for the rest. Seems the phone out shines the camera sometimes. I think I need to learn more about the f-stop. Study more. Aloha
