Just got one of these, I'm very happy with it, plenty of power and very good on gas, especially on a run.

It looks both sporty and luxury too.I thought this model will take lot of gas.How many Kms per litre do you get in city and highway?

    • @slooob23
      @slooob23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@YTHexter highway running it gets 12-13km per liter, around town about 9. I think my long term overall average is about 10.5. It would probably be a bit more thirsty in a lot of stop/go traffic in a city, but I live in a semi rural town so that isn't an issue for me. On a longer run it uses exactly the same amount of fuel as my old 2.0 manual, which is pretty good for a 3.0v6 auto. Later model cars are probably a bit better on gas but it's pretty good for the size and power that it has, it's a beautiful car to drive as well.

@@slooob23 Maxima is soo underrated I guess.Planning to get this or maxima/cefiro a32.I feel like these models have got a mix of luxury and sport look as compared to latest generation maxima which has got aggressive sporty look only and also better than 1999 Toyota avalon.
I am also able to get Maxima a35 for good price but it is the cvt transmission or else it is a great car.

@@YTHexter these A33 maximas are a lot more reliable than the newer versions. I wouldn't touch anything with a cvt in it. The auto trans in the A33 and A32 is pretty much bullet proof if it has had basic maintenance. My previous car was an a32 cefiro with a 5 speed manual, that was a great car too. Not sure where you are but in NZ these maximas can still be found in very tidy condition for not much money. Toyota camry's of the same age are more expensive but definitely not better cars than these maximas in this year. If you can find a tidy example of either the A32 or A33 I think you'll be happy. Just check for rust in the front crossmember under the radiator, that is one of the only issues with these cars.

Thank you for making this review! :) I´ve had a few years a A33 Maxima QX 3,0 V6 automatic '04. It has now approximately 180000km´s. Only thing I had to change was the lambda sensors, one of them didn´t work as it should and engine light went on on the instrumental cluster, so I´ve decided to change all four sensors. Beseides that, I have only done a normal service every 10000km´s and it runs like a new :)
My car is almost top of the line Maxima they sold here in Europe, only thing my car is missing is the sunroof. Parking sensors, xenon lights in the front with headlight washers, heated seats, leather interior, alloy wheels and a lots of more :)
Your car has a different instrumental cluster than mine and the place where you have a place for coins next to the gear shift, euro -models had a button for normal/winter/sport mode for the automatic transmission. A few more difference I noticed too compared to the euro -version.
    Keep these reviews coming!

Definitely a better video than the Top Gear version. Surprising how much better the interior is on the Infiniti models though. The base I30 has the full leather seats, power rear sunshade, and a nicer center stack among other things. I guess Australia doesn't have Infinitis though. I've owned one since 2001 brand new and it still works great. Even my newer Infinitis are breaking down faster than this thing is.

+Zubayer Siddique No surprise there! Such an underrated car in my opinion. If it were FR maybe it would have been more popular.

Brilliant cars. Last of the good reliable Nissans before they got in bed with Renault and made ugly babies. The engine is a beast. Silky smooth and endless pull.

As mentioned, a far better review than the Top Gear review. Im from New Zealand, and your ST is pretty much our Ti with the cloth interior option, though both ours had the fog/cornering light in the lower bumper as standard. In the past I have owned a 2001 ST in the same red colour which is called Cabernet, and currently own a 2003 STi, which is a standard Ti with factory body kit and revised exhaust by Nissan NZ. The lower trim specs with this treatment were badged as SSi for the Si, and SST for the ST. The current Maxima is the 6th one I have owned.

Good information, thanks for sharing. I've currently got a silver 2003 STI, I've had it for almost a year and I'm really happy with it. Before that I was driving a 5speed A32 cefiro which was a good car in its time too. I actually still have the cefiro in my driveway, I need to sell it😂

@@slooob23 At the time I had my 2003 Sti, I still had a 1999 A32 30S.Touring which I needed to sell, but just never got round to it. Was a fantastic car too. Sadly the A32 got written off after being side swiped by a truck when parked. Would never have got round to selling it probably lol. Sold my 2003 for a 2012 Maxima 3.5 around a year and a half ago.

@@nzmax mate, I've got your old car😂 silver STi with a body kit? I recognize your story about the side swiped max and your new 2012 max from the maxima forum. I think i actually responded to one of your threads there some time ago. Small world huh! And thanks for taking such great care of the A33, I always look after my vehicles and this one is the tidiest that I could find at the time.

@@slooob23 Haha, small world. Should never have sold that one either lol. It has definitely been looked after by everyone that has had it in the past. I bought it sight unseen from Auckland, flew up and drove it back to Christchurch. Never missed a beat during my ownership. Only thing I changed was put a later J31 Maxima 6 disc stereo in it as the 6 CD player skipped on the original one, hence the different colour backlights on the stereo and dash.

+Zubayer Siddique since i bought same car, silver and black leather seats. This car looks, it has not rolled of the factory, not long time ago. It can keep up with newer cars 2010+ since there is almost same optionals.

Hi, what class would this car be in,camry altise, calais, ford fairmont? How would you compare it to these? Thanks

    • @ZCarReviews
      @ZCarReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Sorry. I did not reply earlier. Here it goes -
      Apart from the Camry
Altise you cannot really put the Calias and the Fairmont on the same category.
Both Altise and the Maxima sort of falls under the medium sized sedan and both have V6 engine and front wheel drive. I would say the Toyota is little more reliable than the maxima. I just like the interior on the Maxima and I cannot really tell you, how good the engine on the maxima is. It is recommended that you run Premium Fuel on the Maxima that is something to consider as well. If you are like me (doing most of the repairs myself), It is easier to get parts from wrecker for Toyota than it is for Nissan. I know Toyota makes more sense but I just prefer the Maxima. Especially if you can find a Ti model with good service history, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
Both Fairmont and the Calias is rear wheel drive full size sedan with option to have six cylinder and eight cylinder engines. I have had a EFII Fairmont Ghia (Six Cylinder) for awhile. The car was well equipped, comfortable and excellent on fuel economy on highways. However, in city driving it used to use a lot of fuel. The main issue with Ford is the build quality. It is nowhere near the Altise or the Maxima. It is very common to have issues with sticky power window switch or a broken regulator, power antenna or bad soldering connection on ECU. To summarise they are known to have few issues but the good thing is, most of
these repairs are pretty easy and second hands parts are really cheap. So, If like rear wheel drive and the smoothness of inline six or raw torque of V8 you can always go for a Fairmont.
I have not driven or owned a Calias so I would not be able to comment on this one.
Hopefully, you find this information useful. I cannot really comment which car is the best as it all
      depends on individual preferences.
Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Cheers Z car,I have a 2001 Fairmont in the AU,which wasnt to everyones taste, but some love the model.Mine was owned by a 74 year old lady that had it since new, never been through a car wash [always by hand] she had it proffessionally detailed every 3 months.also full service history, lifetime guarantee on the window tint, absolutely immaculate and drives beatifully,I love it.I had a camry 91 [same shape as holden apollo] top of the range imported from Japan 2.5 V6, it had absolutely everything, nearly a 50 grand car brand new.
Would of been a fantastic car for you to do a review on, sold it last year and the guy wrote it off unfortunately.
Have no reason to buy another car but have a thing for early Japanese luxury cars, been looking at getting one for the love of it, as a weekend driver ,really like these maximas, been checking a few out on Gumtree.
Seem to be able to get a better one from interstate than here in sa, cheaper and more choice .

I am noy sure about that.
We can remove the plastic cable and see if the cables are there or not!
Also double check if fog light switch is there as well.
