Fun fact The 2 finger gesture may have its origin from the medieval era where it was directed towards archers specifically as a "I'll make sure you lose said fingers" sort of threat (Since you know, hard to fire a bow without those 2)
Other way around, actually. :) The story goes that during the 100 Years War between France and England, the captured english men had their index and middle fingers cut off so they would not be able to operate the longbows they were reknown to use during warfare. The englishmen would jeer at the french troops by raising their two fingers as a show of: "Approach me at your own risk you bastard, I can still shoot you with a longbow!" Though it is just a story, and impossible to confirm, the english people still holds to this theory because it inflicts further misery upon the french. :)
I can't believe I never noticed this or paid it much mind, haha. I always thought Daxter was just beckoning pecker, waving towards himself. Clearly I'm not an obscenity-minded person.
Seeing how recent are some comments next to the video upload date, TH-cam algorithm seems to be at it again. Also pretty funny that I find this video two days after seeing this scene in game after years not playing it. Never understood Dax was giving Pecker the fingers !
I’m not sure, whether I should be surprised or not, considering how much it would be believable for Daxter to actually flip him off in that scene. Regardless, I’m glad to see the mystery is solved, as a Daxter Fan, it was an interesting one!
I think it was meant to he implied that Daxter was actually flipping him off, the only reason we don't see him actually do that is because they never intended for people to see Daxters hand off camera so they didn't do the animation for it
I was wondering the same thing. Now all we need is someone to capture the full gesture and post it everywhere. Sony and Naughty Dog will get sued for putting obscene material in a game FOR CHILDREN, and we will never get Jak 4. Sony will self-destruct as well.
I mean, TPL was for children but the other 3 were definitely aimed at teens. And it's out of sight for those not hacking the game so it's technically implied haha.
Jak II and 3 was for teens, which are children if we want to get legal and pedantic, but if you think this is obscene enough to get them sued, especially considering the other details and easter eggs in the series, then boy do I have some beachfront real estate to sell ya. Hahaha
