Thanks Jason. Your tip blew me away. 5 minutes later my Longruner had doubled it's reach. I felt like a surgeon doing exploratory surgery. The patient survived the operation, and I'm off to the fields. Owe you a beer buddy. Thanks again for the new tip. Pun intended. Lol
Oops forgot to tell you that any automotive parts store has o rings that will fit the G.P. Just remember to take the cap with you. Mine was missing also, but not anymore. 😊

You only have to use centrifugal force to move the sensor to the end. Hold the pointer up, and quickly whip it down like you do with a mercury thermometer. No need to take anything apart, and your literally done in a split second. This Only works on the GP.

I have used a technique to increase pointer distance. Take the pointer and put the tip on a large metal object (car door for example) then with the pointer touching the door, turn it on. Now when you pull away from the door and back to it, it will usually start beeping 4-5 inches away. I do this sometimes before going out detecting. After a few ons and offs it seems to reset back to short distance. So you can "tune" it again on a shovel, in the field, if you remember. Can speed up item recovery time immensely! Like your tip too. Good straightforward video. Good luck out there!

Well no wonder why several of my GP Pointers of the same model were all reaching different depths and some performed better than others!! I did videos showing how each one varied and it miffed me. Now I know why. Thanks so much for this video! You are a genius!! You just got a new sub! 🤗

so theres nothing connected to the sensor? its just a stationary sensor? I have 2 and of course would love to improve the sensitivity....Ive seen the rubber protection tips you can buy on ebay, what you think bout cutting tip of pointer off and JB weld the end and install a protective cap? i dont do water hunting so not worried bout waterproof...

hello. Ive just bought gp pointer and it has a rubber oring on the battery compartment cap, have a closer look at your one. Mine is surrounding the cap, its tight and can be missed, its black on the black cap near the far edge ot the thread (towards the grip part).

I discovered an easy fix, no need to take anything at all off the pinpointer. After using a flashlight I saw the coil was sitting over half inch back from the tip, logic told me that if the coil can move by pushing with a wire rod, it should also be able to move with light shock movement. I gently tapped a solid piece of wood with the tip end a few times and checked with a light again, the coil is now right at the tip and functions way better. Hope this helps people as a try before removing parts.

Darn companies cant get Quality control straight from the get go. you can always take some Loktite Epoxy and fill it into the button to seal it. as for the cap, email the company and tell them its missing and im sure they can send you a cap that has the seal on it.

    • @DigginwithJason

@@DigginwithJason I bought a teknetics tek-point pulse induction Pinpointer thinking it would take care of the emi problem and no good either. Its going to boil down to using the Frequency Shift Button options first, if that doesn't work then resort to lowering sensitivity.one notch at a time, that's the advice in nokta Makro manual we got when be bought the machines page 10 of the manual under sensitivity,.that works the best for me, although I will say and attest to this and possibly do a video on this is the Whites TRX Bullseye has the least EMI so far and sometimes none whatsoever. Even the NOKTA POINTER gives EMI that's frustrating ,lol...

There is another hack you can do to increase its range. Turn on your pinpointer... take for example.. a cent or a dime... and place it against your pinpointer... almost at the same level of the button but on the plastic on the opposite side and just slide the coin against the plastic probe until you hear your pointer beeping... then readjust the coin back a little just enough to stop the beeping.. technically, the pinpointer will now be finetuned and will have its range slightly increased. for an effective mod, you'll need to stick a plastic rail or a slider and glue a coin or a metallic piece on the slider as a fine tuning adjustment.
