You know what time it is! 🔥Combining items to create a micro-kit according to one's individual needs is really fun. Right on brother! I love seeing people that use ingenuity in making stuff like that.. It’s always interesting to see what people come up with! Thanks for keeping the good stuff coming 👊🏻🔥👊🏻
Quite versitile. I like the fact that your gear is stored on your hand. My survival device is a 2 inch x 3 inch survival mirror, with the following items adhered: a 125 db retractable whistle, modified Suunto Clipper compass mounted on a container with water purification tablets, ferro cerium rod on one edge, a 650 lumen flashlight, container with tinder and an edge mounted diamond knife/fish hook sharpener. It has a mini buckle for connecting it to a lanyard. For added versatility I have a Victorinox device and Boker folding knife rubberbanded to the mirror side and about 70 ft of 400 test lb kevlar cord rubberbanded on the main gear side. I had a container for it that failed and am looking for a better replacement. My fishing kit and other gear is separately stored.
I keep my car keys separate from the rest of my keys for several reasons including preventing damage to my vehicle and being able to leave my car running while I run back into the house. I have several edc items on my keychain including a swiss army knife, flashlight, p38, lanyard with fishing line and bank line, fishing hooks and swivels, ferro rod and tinder, uncle Bills tweezers, pocket hook and 3 titanium key rings. I also use a parachord bracelet with a multi function buckle as a watch band. My wallet is from Grim Survival and has a bunch of tools built in plus I replaced the included band with 3 ranger bands. There's a tinder card and a fresnel lens inside. I have a knife and a pen that always go in my pockets. My boots are laced with survivor chord and ferrocerium toggles. I also have a multi tool on my belt most of the time. These items go with me all the time except the multi tool on occasion. I can procure food and water, build a shelter, make fire, signal, cut, tie, mark trails, leave notes, find direction and survive.
That is slicker than snot on a brass doorknob. I was thinking the same thing, no fishing line. I'm not sure you'll ever need a spare wick for your lighter out in the field, so for "ME" I'd drop that and fill that spot with some good BRAIDED fishing line, as that stuff has no real memory like mono line does. Another thing I thought of, was in that same tin, maybe see if you can add a perfume sample vial filled with bug juice. I've bought many different diameters and lengths of those vials' brand new for pennies each. That's more than enough bug juice to get me through an unexpected stay outside, like a flat tire, or stopping to help someone, and not getting eaten alive in while doing so. Then just refill it when I get home. I've also considered filling some with bleach for emergency water treatment, and just swap out the bleach twice a year. A half dram vial is 8mm x 60mm, and holds 36 drops of bleach, which treats around two gallons of water, and that's fair amount in an emergency and in a very small package that's cheap. Keep up the great work.
that's a ''watch-out'' watch!... I don't use watches but I'm impressed by what you came up with, and reading in the comments that you have an upgrade in mind, I'd say that would be an interesting video to ''watch''... lol
Massive respect for the huge amount of thought and effort you've put into this kit 👍 You could add a 256Gb uSD card, Victorinox tweezers & some thin ranger bands to the tin and it wouldn't slip as much and they're also great fire starters. I've got the ultralight version of this. A Leatherman Tread, Casio G-Shock, some thin Velcro straps, a 128Gb uSD card with survival & Sci Fi books my fave music and a couple of 2 x 10mm magnets.
I tend to have my emergency items on my keychain. Mine has a whistle with gorilla tape wrapped around it, a peanut lighter, a Victorinox knife and a small flashlight. In my other pocket i will have a folder like a Cold Steel Voyager, or Spyderco Tenacious. I also keep an Olight Baton 2 flashlight and a Space Pen in the same pocket. My wallet holds a Spyderco Spydercard. I have a Suunto compass on my watchband. I also have a dedicated get-home back in my car's trunk at all times. Can't be too careful.
Great little kit mate. Now show us how it works in the field. Let see whether you can qualify for the Inspector Gadget certificate of achivement. I agree on things needing to be attached to you- for the very reasons you mentioned! I made it so many years ago and I should have filmed making the band. Maybe I’ll make another one someday. Thanks for watching!

The older Luminox watches were good. They have a few issues today. Go with a good mechanical divers or chronograph. Battery powered there are tons, but Suunto, Garmin, Marathon and G-shock are good and thry have smart versions. But don't overlook Seiko and Casio. Of all the fans of the grey man concept I have never heard one adequately or logically explained to me as to the "why?" Its always comes off as 007 larp. You wear a cowboy hat to a rodeo and you arent a rider and your standing out in most places. Over 6'3" tall you aint a grey man. Under 5'8" you aint a grey man. Have a conversation just long enough to have an awkward pause not a grey man. Dont have any conversations at all not a grey man. Keep your head on a swivel but dont you dare appear aware or you arent a grey man. Its just dont make much sense to me. The object of “Grayman” is to blend into an environment and to manipulate the baseline if necessary.. Being invisible is impossible, therefore you have to interact in the environment you are in (as if you belong there).. It’s basically tradecraft to ensure operational security..
I think you put too much thought I to trying to debunk the grey man concept. Broken down to it's most basic concept would be like this example: If you display a gun in ab open carry holster (in places where that's allowed of course), then you are less grey man than he who conceal carries. If you wear a tactical backpack in public, you are less grey man than a college student with an average looking medium or small size back pack. If you wear a polo shirt, you are more grey man than so eone with a flannel or a tactical shirt. Grey man just means being tactical while hiding as much of it as possible. Greyman for the most part stems from appeasement not tactical awareness. There is a reason soldiers look like solders. Secret service looks like secret service. Body guards look like body guards. So I have my doubts a grey man would do whats necessary when the time comes.
