Join me on this career playthrough of Euro Truck Simulator 2, building a trucking empire from scratch! In this let's-play, we will be exploring the world of ETS2 following the release schedule of the map expansions. Beginning with the original content of the UK, Germany, and the surrounding countries. As we complete the discovery of cities and achievements, we will move on to each DLC as it was released, starting with Going East all the way to West Balkans. We will be keeping other mods to a minimum, with only a few installed to keep the HUD as minimal and unobtrusive as possible. Expect a journey of all the amazing sights SCS has provided us through the years, as well as lots of interesting trivia about the things we see along the way!

a retarder doesnt help you get up hills in anyway. the retarder is a brake. designed to take stress away from the main brake and prevent it from overheating on long decends. comparable to the jake brake in the us but working differently.
Really love this series. I've been playing pretty much since release and loved seeing how much it changed over time. I am from Birmingham uk, so on my main personal save, I always pick it as my starting location and main play with gaming controller through that time, and I crash a few times after buying a new truck myself 😂 and I ATS to because I like seeing the different parts of the US that's not as well known as like LA and NYC especially from people from there telling stories about different states and city there lived in or visited keep up the good work and hope you and your wife have a great vacation
Advanced coupling is much better and mods to change the icons are great too makes them cones instead of the massive flashing arrow

I believe there was a mod that removed the gamey icons for parking, and replaced it with a coned area. Something to maybe consider if you don’t like the icons.

I started by taking out a big €400,000 loan to buy a garage for €180,000. Next, I bought some cheap used trucks. By upgrading the damaged parts and selling the old parts, you can get decent trucks for a fraction of the price. ( you don't pay full price for upgrades on used trucks as the worn out part still sells for cash ) I immediately hired drivers for these trucks and did some more quick jobs myself.
This strategy involves buying used trucks, using them for jobs, upgrading and repairing them, and then putting them in a garage with a hired driver. I continued this process, fixing up each truck and hiring drivers for them. I also got a curtain trailer for the company.
With this method, your drivers level up fast and generate a lot of extra income. Currently, I own two large garages, one medium garage, and 12 trucks. I just bought myself a brand-new truck for €400,000. Besides the jobs I do, I'm now earning about €80,000 per day from my hired drivers. that MAN truck you chose is very good, has great upgrades. it can do any job. its one of my favorites.
Good to know! My plan was to buy used for all my employees.
i dont know when they fixed it but when i tried it even with a almost perfect used truck my employees would refuse to drive it unless i gave it a full restoration which costs almost as much as a new truck

How do we enable the horizontal strip of info at the top? Is that a mod or a setting?
It's a mod called Minimal advisor interface for ATS & ETS2. I use the version that puts it on he top of the screen, but there's another version that puts it on the bottom if you like it there better.

doesnt really matter. money pretty becomes worthless anyways.
