Didn't mean to hit a nerve. I was watching that span flex in the center as you made your passes. Though I'm glad it turned out for you, I was seeing that flex and couldn't turn away from it. I once installed a 16" square piece of 1/2 drywall, that I secured with 3 screws on each stud. It felt sturdy but I did see a little push out at the seams. But they sanded down just fine. A month later I was at my clients house and noticed that due to where the bathroom door hit the jamb, the repair was right there, and a crack had formed top and bottom. I admitted it to my client and fixed it for nothing. So I was talking from experience.

What dry wall compound/ ready-mix do you use? I have to patch pretty much the same hole and texture
all purpose joint compound
What kind of mud did you use for the texture?
All purpose joint compound thinned and mixed creamy
Can you make a list of materials?

is this 5 minute mud or regular joint compound?
You should use reg joint compound 5 min I use more pro grade material need to know what ur doing as sets up like a rock

its hotmuded with fiberglass nothing going to crack hot mud

You didn't add a center support. A 50¢ firring stick screwed on both sides to prevent that flex, which will crack later...
It's 16 inches not needed each side
I have warranty my work 2yrs and never had call back 14 yrs yet so any more comments from yr keyboard
But yeah could added it would t hurt houses framed cought each side framing so.. also quickset muds don't crack set up like cement
