We can talk all the shit about Buddy Lazier we want, but he's the one putting everything together on a shoestring budget and often getting into the race. That's at least worthy of some respect.
Gabby Chaves is my man! He's actually got a TH-cam channel where he does a bunch of drone videos and every now and then mentions he's in Indycar. Pretty sure he's trying to humblebrag lol. Go check out his channel: GC Cannonball
Nice work as always. One talking point that I'm surprised nobody is mentioning is all the rookies. There will be 7 rookies at St Petersburg this weekend. You have to go back before the merger to find that many in one race.
Graham Rahal is my man!!! He has worked very hard in and out of the car this off season not only as a driver but as a total package with sponsorship etc. My second pick is former Champion and teammate Sebastien Bourdais!!!
Predictions For 2019: Carlin Racing: 23 Charlie Kimball 59 Max Chilton Harding Racing: 88 Gabby Chaves 89 Luca Fillipi 78 Santino Ferruci Juncos Racing: 32 Kyle Kaiser 22 Rene Binder 42 Alfonso Celis Shank Racing: 60 Jack Harvey Penske: 2 Josef Newgarden 22 Simon Paganaud 12 Will Power Ganassi Racing: 9 Scott Dixon 10 Ed Jones 83 Brendon Hartley Andretti Autosport: 98 Marco Andretti 28 Ryan Hunter Reay 26 Zach Veach 27 Alexander Rossi RLL Rahal Letterman Racing: 15 Graham Rahal 30 Takuma Sato Aj Foyt Racing: 14 Matheus Leist 4 Tony Kannan 41 Zachary Claman De Melo Schmidt Peterson: 5 James Hinchcliffe 6 Robert Wickens Dale Coyne Racing: 18 Sebastian Bourdais 19 Piettro Fittapaldi Ed Carpenter Racing: 20 Ed Carpenter 21 Jordan King 13 Spencer Pigot
I have to go with Graham Rahal this year for two reasons: He’s from my home state of Ohio. And RLL was looking pretty stout during testing. With the addition of Sato, the whole team may do some more damage than people think!
Still can't understand why they replace Watkins Glen! It's good to see Portland back on the calendar but either make the season one race longer or get rid of Detroit and have Portland in it's place
Changes: The 32 Ran An Extra Race With The Mexican Alfonso Celis At Road America. Alfonso Celis Is A Part Time Indy Lights Driver The 88 Car Had Connor Daly Run One Last Race At Pocono The 19 Car Had A Change At Belle Isle With Santino Ferrucci Because Fittapaldi Had A Broken Leg
Pietro is Emmo's Grandson AND Christian's nephew? You'll have to explain to me how that works out. Pietro is Emerson's Grandson thus that would make him a Cousin to Christian, Second Cousin specifically. Also No Townsend this year?
I still think that Sam Hornish Jr should get at least a one off return to the Indy 500. Previously this seemed ridiculous, but if Danica can do it, so can Hornish.
Nice fast reply there David. Thank You, I'm definitely hyped for the new season. I appreciate you telling me. Btw, I love your content, keep up the amazing work you do!
Matt Parsons They officially switched teams. Remember, the 98 is owned Bryan Herta Autosport and run in cooperation with Andretti Autosport. As of 2017 Bryan Herta has served as Marco's strategist, so I guess Herta wanted to be the strategist for his own car.
my prediction for the points championship I think is gonna be Alexander Rossi. Showed a lot of potential all year just could not get the results. And for the Indy 500 I think the curse finally ends and Marco gets his first
I hate to see them drop Watkins Glen, it is one of my favorite tracks! It feels like a roller coaster in an indycar or f1 car, so much fun. I am interested to see Portland though
Don’t get mad but I feel that Carlos Muñoz should get the full time car 98 for Andretti Herta over Marco Andretti cause Andretti isn’t very impressive considering how long he has been driving
The REAL Question is how will these cars perform on the ovals. Especially Indianapolis. Will we see the "pack" racing we have been accumsted to or will we see the cars spread out without even having any chance for any competition? That is what I'm more concerned with.
Joe Joe I think the racing should be closer. More of the downforce comes from the floor of the car this year so they should be affected by turbulence less and should be able to follow other cars closer
I would like Juncos racing to race full season. IMO the likes of Conor Daly or RC Enerson can fill the seat for any rounds Rene Binder and Kyle Kaiser does not contest
Pippa, Lazier, and a car to be named later. Much as I like Lazier, the low budget, last minute, hail-mary approach to the 500 he typically does every year might not be enough to make the show this time around. Now... if he gets it together earlier in the month this year, no problem, experience should get him in, but it'll still be last row, 32nd or 33rd.
I think Ed Jones will get his first win this year. And with Fernando Alonso being in last year’s Indy 500, I would love to see Lewis Hamilton give it a shot
@David Land Er... I know that was a good crack at NASCAR with the "Numbers don't mean anything" quip, but in reality Marco is driving for Brian Herta's little slice of Andretti Autosport while Rossi drives for AA proper. Marshall Pruett's podcast had Herta on and he explained the move better than I could. Otherwise, nice video. I don't expect a second Harding Racing car this year, but nice video overall.
How can I say this...well, to win it, she's first gotta be in it. Not a guarantee this year. She's been away for quite a while, the cars have really changed, and frankly, she may not have the motivation to beat out the series regulars, and the new, quick, young guns.
" Our Lord and Saviour Buddy Lazier" is a quote I say everytime I hear his name now
We can talk all the shit about Buddy Lazier we want, but he's the one putting everything together on a shoestring budget and often getting into the race. That's at least worthy of some respect.
More British drivers than in F1. Nice.
Thomas Écuyer And more exciting racing
F1 Rejects tho. 😂
Chris Mndz nope
Pro tip : watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
Go Buddy Lazier, you still got it after 22 years, take these young ones to school!
Man, I love these videos. Great Job David.
Greetings from a huge Indycar fan from Colombia.
Gabby Chaves is my man! He's actually got a TH-cam channel where he does a bunch of drone videos and every now and then mentions he's in Indycar. Pretty sure he's trying to humblebrag lol. Go check out his channel: GC Cannonball
CodyHGaming ya same here :D
he is so sweet! i met him in Toronto and we struck up a conversation. so awesome!
This is the first season where I’m gonna try to catch all the indycar races so this was very helpful, thanks a lot!
Can you do a Bandwagoners Guide to F1 2018
I'll never get over that Ed Jones' listed nationality is "United Arab Emirates"
Brandon Dollar it’s where his national racing license is registered
So glad I found this channel. Definitely my new favorite to watch
Share it with your friends!
Great graphics and informations, David!! All basics we need to be prepared for the upcomong Indy Car Season 2018!!! Thank you, Buddy! :)
Nice work as always. One talking point that I'm surprised nobody is mentioning is all the rookies. There will be 7 rookies at St Petersburg this weekend. You have to go back before the merger to find that many in one race.
lmao the DW comment
EXCELLENT!!! I LOVE how you put these together. I can't wait for the season to start this weekend. A lot to look forward to.
Munoz should get a full time ride
Graham Rahal is my man!!! He has worked very hard in and out of the car this off season not only as a driver but as a total package with sponsorship etc. My second pick is former Champion and teammate Sebastien Bourdais!!!
Predictions For 2019:

Ed Carpenter Racing: 20 Ed Carpenter 21 Jordan King 13 Spencer Pigot
Connor Daly is racing the Indy 500 with Thom Burns Racing with the US Air Force as sponsor!
NokiaCupSeries yes, he already had that listed in the video...
i hope Conor gets back into the series full time!
Awesome vid. Wow what a year it is going to be...go Dixon ;)
Will there be one for 2019? I want to watch IndyCar this year now Sky are showing it in the UK, and I know nothing.
Love these videos they get me pumped for the series
I’ll definitely be looking out for Carlin this year… And not just because they share a name with my all time favourite comedian.
SovietOnion Max just might improve even more.
What about my favorit indycar driver Fred Nando Lonso? Is he not gonna race at the indy 500?
where did you get the car pics that you used in the video for the teams and drivers?
Very Nice David, very well put together
I have to go with Graham Rahal this year for two reasons: He’s from my home state of Ohio. And RLL was looking pretty stout during testing. With the addition of Sato, the whole team may do some more damage than people think!
Still can't understand why they replace Watkins Glen! It's good to see Portland back on the calendar but either make the season one race longer or get rid of Detroit and have Portland in it's place
Mark Horner They couldn't find a common date. Don't worry though it will probably be back next year
Ah that's a shame but yes hopefully it will be back next year!
its been replaced by Pirelli World Challenge which is also a lot of fun to see
Pippa Mann is now on the table for a Indy 500 ride, does anyone (David Land) know how many entries are for this years 500??? Thank you
Pippa Mann to beat Danica Patrick at the Indy 500
all she will need to do is finish lol
stephen degraaf well she did well in indycar she was consistant but how nacar went idk if she will finish 100 laps
...
No
Simona de silvestro lol
Wait, the GI Joe race is back? Might have to drive down there to check it out.
Changes:
The 32 Ran An Extra Race With The Mexican Alfonso Celis At Road America. Alfonso Celis Is A Part Time Indy Lights Driver
The 88 Car Had Connor Daly Run One Last Race At Pocono
The 19 Car Had A Change At Belle Isle With Santino Ferrucci Because Fittapaldi Had A Broken Leg
Ferrucci Had 2 More Races And Celis Has One More
So will this mean the return to the nail biting bump day?
If Helio is gonna only be back for the Indy 500 he oughta be back in the 3 car right?
Pietro is Emmo's Grandson AND Christian's nephew? You'll have to explain to me how that works out. Pietro is Emerson's Grandson thus that would make him a Cousin to Christian, Second Cousin specifically. Also No Townsend this year?
Yes you're right, I misspoke on the familial connections. lol
I still think that Sam Hornish Jr should get at least a one off return to the Indy 500. Previously this seemed ridiculous, but if Danica can do it, so can Hornish.
my prediction:
1. Dixon
2.Pagenued
3.Rahal
4.Rossi
5.Newgarden
6.Power
7.Hunter Reay
8.Hinchcliffe
9.Andretti
10.Sato
11.Kanaan
12.Jones
13.Wickens
J F Wickens will obviously be higher
I'm somewhat new to watching Indycar, but if can I ask, what TV company is going to be broadcasting all the Indycar races this year?
Split between ABC and NBC Sports Network. The first race, St. Pete, will be on ABC at 12:30 this Sunday.
Nice fast reply there David. Thank You, I'm definitely hyped for the new season. I appreciate you telling me. Btw, I love your content, keep up the amazing work you do!
I just happened to be looking at the comments when yours popped up! Glad to help and glad you are enjoying the content!
Is there a reason Rossi and Andretti switched numbers?
Matt Parsons They officially switched teams. Remember, the 98 is owned Bryan Herta Autosport and run in cooperation with Andretti Autosport. As of 2017 Bryan Herta has served as Marco's strategist, so I guess Herta wanted to be the strategist for his own car.
hard to believe the dw12 is now aged...seems like yesterday it was launched
Would love to see Conor Daly get a full time ride for next year. He’s my favorite!
much appreciated watchers guide, thanks
Can't wait david, this is gonna be a good season
Thanks for the video it got me up-to-date on IndyCar and it's time for St Petersburg. Go Canada
my prediction for the points championship I think is gonna be Alexander Rossi. Showed a lot of potential all year just could not get the results. And for the Indy 500 I think the curse finally ends and Marco gets his first
This is looking like it's going to be another great season. I can't wait. :D
I hate to see them drop Watkins Glen, it is one of my favorite tracks! It feels like a roller coaster in an indycar or f1 car, so much fun.
I am interested to see Portland though
No Montoya? Thought Penske was going to run him as a 5th car at Indy again :(
mbricolage we'll see. Still a lot of time.
Don’t get mad but I feel that Carlos Muñoz should get the full time car 98 for Andretti Herta over Marco Andretti cause Andretti isn’t very impressive considering how long he has been driving
What the he’ll happened to Juan Pablo Montoya
Gaming Racechamp 22 He's in Weathertech Sportscar Championship now, driving for #6 Penske Acura
2004 champion, 2013 Indy 500 champion, and vin desultory look alike, TONY KANAAN
Also, I think that Carlin is going to win one, and maybe the running gag of the series, Marco.
Kinda says something when Micheal moves his own son over to the satellite team.
I so badly want to see Danica get bumped from the 500
LET'S GO PIETRO!!
I would like Juncos racing to race full season. IMO the likes of Conor Daly or RC Enerson can fill the seat for any rounds Rene Binder and Kyle Kaiser does not contest
Who do you think will not make the 500
Pippa, Lazier, and a car to be named later.
Much as I like Lazier, the low budget, last minute, hail-mary approach to the 500 he typically does every year might not be enough to make the show this time around.
Now... if he gets it together earlier in the month this year, no problem, experience should get him in, but it'll still be last row, 32nd or 33rd.
thank you for making this video
would love for indycar to come back to Kentucky
I think Buddy is going to take it this year
David keep up the good work
Actually, Danica Is Racing For Dale Coyne Racing
05:10 pundit roast
WAT? No Ferd Nando Lonso? HE'S MY FAVORITE DRIVER!!
Can't wait!
"B-b-b-but muh Alonso!?"
5:10 LMAO on Jaws comment
Good job, Dave
I must be the only person who liked the Dallara DW12 cars of 15-17.
But damn. These cars look sexy.
what about Fernando Alonso?
Ro Ye nope he's not able to do it this year :(
Jordan King Needs His Own Car Next Year, And The Officials Should Let Ed Carpenter Race In All Races
Being a totally unbiased Australian, it would be fantastic to see Will Power win the Indy 500.
Pedantic but Kimball's sponsor is "Tresiba", pronounced treh-see-buh.
14:09 that’s a first
Yeah Marco!
I think Ed Jones will get his first win this year. And with Fernando Alonso being in last year’s Indy 500, I would love to see Lewis Hamilton give it a shot
Landon beckelhimer Lewis Hamilton would never. He can't risk not winning and losing his rep
Landon beckelhimer nah I can't see lewis doing it ever. He's too scared

😕
nice vid
Lovely
I think the 18 will win the championship.
@David Land Er... Indy 500: Ryan Hunter-Reay
Champion: Will Power
I would like to see Danica Patrick win the 500.

Go Sato!!!
☹️ No Juan Pablo
Jack Harvey looks like Jack Nicholson's Joker
I'll take Josef to win the Championship. I'll take him at Indy, too.
I'm on the Josef bandwagon. #foreveranewgardenfan
F1 2018 PLEASE DAVID
Juncos is pronounced like huncos.
Thx!
Go Honda!
I think Suddenly Ganassi will have a third entry and Kyle Larson will win the 500
Josef Newgarden for the Indy 500 and Scott Dixon for the Championship. I know these are boring picks.
SmartAlec TheMotorGuy I'm taking Sato to repeat or RHR for the 500. Maybe Helio.
Thank god there is no Santino Ferucci
DID YOU SAY CHANGE !!!!?????!!!!?!?!?!?!??!
I hope the Harding drive actually either goes to Townsend Bell or Montoya.
I know it won't. I can still hope.
Ahoy there
John Wallstar Aye
Lets go Carlin and Juncos.
#whereskaalkat
Hey Kaal Kat
