hi, thanks for your reaction! BTS debuted in 2013, so for new listeners it is overwhelming to listen to at least part of their discography and understand what the hype is (especially considering how many prejudices and understatements there are in the media, and without the cultural context of a foreign artist). Together, as a band, they have released about 400 songs and as many solo songs. Their most popular/most viewed songs are rather pure pop and in English - probably because they are easier for Americans, but the truth is that BTS cannot be considered in the category of any musical genre right now. Their solo releases are very specific to each member (hip-hop, r&b, pop, jazz, rock) and therefore their sound as a group is very diverse and has changed a lot over the years. Many people need time to listen to their discography, but I haven't seen anyone yet who, if they approach it without prejudice, won't find songs that suit them perfectly! Some people start with group songs, others with solo songs, others with colabs. Either way is good in my opinion. If you give ARMI a chance and tell us what you listen to and what you like, we will recommend what might really resonate with you.
they are releasing solo albums in this time they are in the military (jhope and jin are already back, the others will be back next year) rm released 2, suga 1, jhope 2, jk 1, v 1, jimin 2, jin just released his album last week
@isaiahdziko tbh listening their korean songs 1st (for me) is better to know them as a group first! so I'd recommend Dis-ease (with english lyrics) or their BTS Room Live (a live medley of their songs, one song from each year 2013-2021) it has english subs
Have you been living under a rock nephew? Dynamite was written by some American. Not my fav. Their best songs are like On, Boyz with fun, Run BTS, etc. Watch the performances. The dancing and singing are insane and no American band or performers compare.
Born singer is a remake of born sinner. I think they do it very early in their career but make it official in 2022 after getting green light from J. Cole. One of the member, J-hope collab with J. Cole in one of his song, on the street. The last group album they released is an anthology album in 2022 titled proof. After their military enlistment announcement, all members worked on solo album. They take turns to release their solo work during their absence from public eye (pre recorded of coz). They cannot come out from the military to do something else until they complete their service. Dynamite is the first of their english trilogy released during the pandemic to cheer up people. It broke the youtube record for most views in 24 hours with 101M views. The record was later broken by butter, another song from them with 108M views. Their performance in dynamite was featured in MJ's documentary, Thriller40. Billboard listed them as one of the greatest pop stars of the century. They landed #19 spot, sandwiched between the weekend and bruno mars. While muggles like you look down on them, music professionals praised them for their talents and work ethics. Funny isn't it?😅. Since I don't think it's worth to suggest other songs, I leave a link to a compilation of their most streamed songs to give you an idea of their discography. th-cam.com/video/0wzqfBV18Bo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lgxKqxgDJk7QJnDl
