Of the two I much prefer the EDP. I appreciate 1974 but can't see myself wearing it. Deep, earthy, herbacious and animalic. I love it for being a "vintage" style of scent, but it does feel dated and heavy to me. EDP is a masterpiece of a scent! Dark, rich and creamy, something about this scent feels incredibly smooth in my nose. This scent made me discover my love for iris notes🪻 I look forward to seeing what Givenchy Gentleman will look like in another 40 years.
@@zinzolin14 yes the EDP really doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. The EDT/1974 for me changes quite dramatically in the dry down and becomes more wearable.
Had no idea there even was a 1974 version! Curious to try it now. Thanks and subbed
@@septimusmodia7415 yes it saes something it’s been kept in production this long…

@scentmagnifique absolutely, I feel it's a hidden gem among fragrances. I can still see 1974 being a real star player in its days though!
I like the link to your grandfather! Are you interested in vintage fragrances?
@@theladycleo thanks! Yes I’m interested in all fragrances…..
