    I'm so impressed with how well it works in the woods. Nothing like hiking a mile into think brush and waiting 2 hours for the RTK to fix.

    Just got R12's and have been shocked with its capabilities. We've been using R8-2&3 gnss since 2005, but with Galileo and beidou, and whatever black magic the R12 is doing, I've been able to get ridiculous solutions in areas that make little sense. I'm in BC canada and have very challenging terrain. Keep up the good content Robert. I got an RTK solution to 1inch in my office, 4ft from the window.

    We're getting one to demo for the next couple of days, and the tilt function, if it works as advertised, is absolutely useful for my job.
    I do a lot of environmental- and watercourse surveying in harsh conditions, and often have to survey inlets and outlets of wells and piped streams; a lot of older wells is conical, making it hard to get the proper location of the inlet and outlet pipes.
    its a godsend in uneven and hilly terrain as well where it can be challenging to get a proper footing or stay steady.

    We purchased a r10-2 with pro point update two weeks ago. It is certainly a huge step forward for us coming off of r6-4 and r8-2 receivers.

    Hey Robert,
    Whats the difference in dumping your satellites by SV tracking in the measure menu vs the satellite icon in the top of the map screen? SV tracking makes you have to reset the IMU after dumping the satellites. The other way doesn't but they both say resetting SV tracking....
    Its a real pain having to reset the IMU by swiveling the dome when using observed control.

    • @SurveyingWithRobert
      @SurveyingWithRobert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trimble says that the antennas are so sensitive that dumping may not reset the tracking. They recommend using the initialization button.

      Joel Scragg X7 has its place. Keep in mind it works best when you have 4 walls to register to. The R12 is amazing adding the tilt adds icing to the cake😎
