@@IllllIIllllI Yeah it's incredibly unlikely they will do such a thing; due to needing a big team. Which valve's inner-workings is "pick a game you like, work for that" which isn't going to get more than artifact made and even then; that game isn't doing great.
@Mikhail Mikhailov I'm no expect; but I understand that making games is difficult and that game engine used has certain limitations. Unless they are enhanced (like plugins) or upgraded (like source 2). In fact many of the games I've worked on are severely limited by their engine to point. I didn't really expect a lot of upvotes though, I just wanted to state my thoughts on how valve could help keep older games alive, while being affordable in terms of time and work; considering a full port to source 2 for all the games would take a while and I wondered what others thought about the situation as a whole. It's not about the upvotes or how many agree with me, but rather what we can do to help keep our favourite games alive and what valve could do to keep support for them; beyond the most conventional means of course (like hiring more people). Brainstorming ways to help players thrive in the game they enjoy. I'm welcome to any ideas and those willing to point out my idea's problems and possible solutions to them. It's why the tf2 fanbase is so cool, we work together as a team... (looks as people dancing) most of the time.
For me. I got things that help my framerate, due to Delfy's video. For me, and it didn't happen at the beginning of my time playing TF2 (which I think is like end of 2021 October...?), is my ping basically having bipolar disorder in VALVe servers. I would go into a server that had me at around 50 ping whilst not battling at all, but then I battle and it goes over 300. And it is my ping because I turn net_graph on and it shows my ping going up really freaking quick. But on community servers WITH 100 PEOPLE... My ping is FINE?? It doesn't fluctuate, my FPS will a little bit, but my ping maybe goes up by like 10 or so. And keep in mind. This is on 100 player servers, but my ping on official VALVe servers that supposedly are near my region can't give me a consistent 50 ping unless if I don't play the game for a month or two.
I still play TF2 on a Toaster, it takes three times longer to load games and makes me dies several times, because when I get near stuff that move and need to be heavily loaded(players) it always lags, but even like that, I still love the game!
With the low specs needed for games like TF2, I want someone to make a game engine with this in mind. Make it so the games are these low graphics but yet extremely impressive with the OpenGL support for higher lighting and effects. Imagine taking the code of Doom with a list of numbers for random based on time rather than equations and the delayed movement of npc's for performance from far less updates. Taking the graphics and effects of Source and games before 2010 and then taking all that and scale it up. 100v100 on 5 square kilometer maps on average pc's with steady 60 FPS and modding opportunity like Doom wads downloading the whole mod for you, with mods for much higher demanding graphics if you want.
I still use Chris’s Config to this day, it works wonders 7 years after it was left behind. Comanglia’s Config is something I’ve never used since I can’t seem to find a download for it. Mastercomfig never really works for me.
Fun fact about the end of the video: Enabling net_graph lowers your framerate and all those bots there kinda take some processing power as well. Just saying though, few people realize how much of your framerate net_graph cuts away.
Yo the realest configs are what the pros be using, just shades of brown boxes with red and blue boxes walking around. You playing Minecraft by this point but easy frames.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the reason TF2 today is much more different than TF2 from 2007 is because of the increased polygon count on TF2 models. Hats also increase the polygon count in characters too. In addition, this game is poorly optimized for the CPU, only using 1 core even though multi-threading is on along with the -threads launch option. Since this game is only utilizing 1 core, it's better to get an i7-9700k than a Ryzen 7 2700X in this situation since Intel outperforms AMD at single-core performance currently. I had a GT 635 with an i7-4770 (it was prebuilt from Dell) and TF2 ran horribly even though I had a good CPU. I upgraded to a GTX 1050 Ti (was going to get a 1060 unfortunately there was an issue with cryptocurrency raising the gpu prices) and I haven't had a single issue since I upgraded the GPU running more than 144 fps. I decided to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 2700X because I do content creation as well. Now since I can reach framerates above 60 fps, I'm considering on getting a 144hz monitor. I don't care if anybody says thats a poor choice to pair that CPU and GPU together but the GTX 1050 Ti is sufficient enough to meet my standards (I play on low settings for a competitive advantage, but I play on near-max settings on TF2).
I had a bad impression about configs, back when I first installed one. But the game is just unplayable for me now, with an average of 40 fps and drops at 4 fps, I may try this mastercomfig and hope it helps. Thanks for making a video!
6:41 finally i'm not the only person having issues with tf2 ever since Jungle Inferno. my framerates stutter for seemingly no reason. my pc is leagues above the recommended specs. i have a 1050 Ti, AMD FX6300 running at 3.5 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and i'm struggling to maintain 60 fps. i have no idea how to implement configs and i have to say i'm very disappointed that i'm not able to run tf2 as smoothly as i run games that should be more graphically demanding, like Shadow of Mordor or DOOM 2016. it honestly makes no sense, and i don't want to lose graphical fidelity for this game, because i love the art style to let that go
Just installed Mastercomfigs this morning, it works great! My PC is powerful, but now I get a consistent 120fps and the computer isn't working that hard! After fully setting everything up, my autoexec still works too which is great.
I am convinced my family bought our laptop at the dollar store. I had it factory reset with tf2 on lowest settings and I ran at 30 fps. THIRTY FPS with a factory reset computer.
is it weird to love the look of really smooth textures on tf2? like extremely low.. it just looks so clean.. If you do that to a modern game it makes it fucking ugly but tf2 low settings is a masterpiece
Quite recently I got a 1000 dollar gaming computer after using a toaster for gaming and am now using 144 hz monitor. I honestly can’t explain the difference! The quality of my gameplay is insane. I’ve invested 4500 hours in this game and was always disappointed to my skill level. However after I got the computer, I’ve found myself getting easier and better Kills that I couldn’t have dreamed of! If you’re on the border of buying a computer and monitor, I’d do it!
i to this day play with shitty frames. it sometimes goes up to *150fps* and when i go to heavy battles where a lot of particles players etc. show up my frames drops to 10. i downloaded configs but it doesnt seem to do much change. it adds frames but still drops heavily. my pc specs aren't even that bad for tf2. -i5-2430m 2.4ghz dual core -5gb ddr3 1600mhz ram -5400 rpm 160gb hdd (second hand) geforce gt 520mx 1gb vram. (see? my gpu isn't actually that bad for tf2. but idk why it's still like this. probably because my laptop heats up easily or the slow hard drive. i've replaced my thermal paste for both gpu and cpu chips as well. i hate this experiece so much because i've known tf2 since 2010 and started playing it in 2012. it's so hard because it's very difficult to improve my skills just because of the performance that my laptop is giving me. it's like my max potential in playing is being bottlenecked. people ofter tease me too because they see me wearing cosmetics but i suck at sniping sometimes because i can't even play because my frames just suddenly drops to 10 or 20. then i try to explain but, well, does not help it. they think im just making an excuse. i often rage quite a lot too because of this.
I have a overclocked 1070 + i7 + hyperX 16gb and even then the game goes down, less then 60, some times, i dont use any configs, but im a guy that likes nice, polish, textures, wat should i try to make my game run better and not destroyng the beauty of the game?
So I’ve managed to get a few hundred fps in a server with 2 people but as soon as I join normal games it drops to 30-90. It’s painful man, it’s painful.
I used to use mastercomfig, but overtime I had trouble installing custom files so I wiped tf2's custom folder and reinstalled mastercomfig and then it fucked up my network settings beyond belief so I wiped it again and finally got my network settings correct and didn't install a config because I was being an idiot and I can run TF2 on moderately high settings
bruh I have an 8 core processer 16 threads and a rtx 2080 super and my average frames all on low settings are like 80-100 but mainly 80 so idk wtf is going on with tf2 but every other game I play like metro exodos is super smooth at 90+ on ultra, I have done everthing possible to get higher fps so tf2 is truly the most graphicly demanding game of our time god bless.
I remember when I started playing TF2 on my old shitty laptop. I now have a Ryzen 7 2700X, a GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB of RAM, and an M.2 SSD My FPS still struggles to get a stable framerate with default settings because they are just that fucking bad
0:12 bruh my first game was on Egypt and I ran into the enemy team as Scout and got killed immediately... Why? Well you see I HAD 20FPS AND IT WAS DIPING TO 0 WHEN AT 24 PLAYERS........ Bruh why did I even play... Wait maybe that's the reason why it went blue screen of death 2 years later
I remember playing TF2 on a PC that used Windows Vista, it wasn’t great... Then I got a $200 HP Stream, also wasn’t great... I’ve yet to get a new PC, but in time I shall feel the glory of playing TF2 on a PC that can support it better
where does rhapsody config fit into this cfg storyline? it introduced a wizard - esque thing for customization(in game), whichis kinda like mastercomfig 7 IMO. If there was another config that did this before rhapsody's cfg, then please let me know.
If you have a 5200RPM drive, Linux is a blessing. For some reason it just fixes my hard drive bottleneck. If you're stuck on Windows, try the EXT4 partition format as that may be what makes it run so damn well.
@@ricoby1978 Linux systems tend to load more things into RAM, and keep them there (it's very small to begin with so RAM usage stays low). This is how Live USB OSes have such good performance compared to its low read and write speeds. Another factor is the filesystem which contributes to the performance increase. It can be quite easy to set up an EXT4 partition on Windows. There are tools that let you mount and use EXT4 partitions.
I still use comanglias frames config. I have one of those fancy hyperthreading i7s, a 1070, 16 gigs ram, and a sturdy ssd and the game still runs like chopped shit on 32 player servers and certain maps and stuff if I go stock settings. It's harder to run than modern warfare at least for me lol.
I am confused. I ran TF2 on my First Xeon E5450 with a Smooth 60 in 2014. Never had any issues with frames or stutters while running Medium to high graphical settings. I think we are at that point where FPS configs are pointless unless you have a potato or are a hardcore gamer and want these extra frames. My verdict. Obsolete. EDIT: Huge core count CPUs dont benefit you at all btw. High clockspeed and high IPC (Instructions per Cycle) are very important for TF2.
I prefer Comagalia Stability because of it's customizability, my problem with master config is that the mercs' faces are souless in medium and lower quality
For the three years of tf2 I still use a LAPTOP that has a dual core that only runs at 2.2 ghz Intel HD 5500 graphics it's really sad like I wish I could record but running tf2 is about the only thing I can with it.
I have an i9-9900K@5.0GHz and RTX 2070 and I still use mastercomfig medium low (with some settings tweaked). My frames never drop below 200 and it's glorious
-Be me -mexican poor boi -2019 and playing tf2 on a low end PC from 2 years ago -fps ALWAYS between 9-20(never got pass 20) -a shitty 10mb internet -8gb RAM -Hp intended for school -a shitty f2p -I still fucking love playing tf2

I still play TF2 on a Toaster, it takes three times longer to load games and makes me dies several times, because when I get near stuff that move and need to be heavily loaded(players) it always lags, but even like that, I still love the game!
commanglia's config = better than default tf2 graphisms imo, i just love it
With the low specs needed for games like TF2, I want someone to make a game engine with this in mind.
The only funny part where the sniper is peaking a eating heavy then realize its a buffalo steak then runs back 5:30
Pepeng Jelek I spotted it too and commented
@@IrrationalDelusion well soz then, did not see it before posting
I don't care if anybody says thats a poor choice to pair that CPU and GPU together but the GTX 1050 Ti is sufficient enough to meet my standards (I play on low settings for a competitive advantage, but I play on near-max settings on TF2).
i play tf2 with a laptop
and im am proud
You’re my fav tf2uber m8
Getting above 60 frames with an fps config should be a piece of cake but *144 frames* is another story
I had a bad impression about configs, back when I first installed one. But the game is just unplayable for me now, with an average of 40 fps and drops at 4 fps, I may try this mastercomfig and hope it helps. Thanks for making a video!
I used to have a laptop with a quad core i3 processor, and it was more capable of running TF2 than the decade-newer pc with an i5 we have now
My phone has 8 times more ram than the 2007 minimum requirements

6:41 finally i'm not the only person having issues with tf2 ever since Jungle Inferno. my framerates stutter for seemingly no reason. my pc is leagues above the recommended specs. i have a 1050 Ti, AMD FX6300 running at 3.5 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and i'm struggling to maintain 60 fps. i have no idea how to implement configs and i have to say i'm very disappointed that i'm not able to run tf2 as smoothly as i run games that should be more graphically demanding, like Shadow of Mordor or DOOM 2016. it honestly makes no sense, and i don't want to lose graphical fidelity for this game, because i love the art style to let that go
also i tried your config and it didn't fix any stuttering
Bowser Main Fresh installs work wonders. You’ll still keep your items
@@Benjy52 tried that 3 times. It didn't do anything
Bowser Main Hard drives. Make sure TF2 runs through the C drive, not the external hard drive.
@@Benjy52 how can i do that?
I have tried many configs for my potato
And I find that Chris config is the best fps booster
So many numbers and letters it sounds like my algebra classroom
Just installed Mastercomfigs this morning, it works great! My PC is powerful, but now I get a consistent 120fps and the computer isn't working that hard!
After fully setting everything up, my autoexec still works too which is great.
Gotta say mastercoms is also very helpful, you could approach them and they would help alot.
Gets 5 major updates a year
Tf2 fans: man this sucks the last major was 2017
Sonic fans: how to you think we feel
this is so useful!! i wish my old fps "1 per 10 seconds" turn into 60fps :)
2:09 that ragdoll though
I am convinced my family bought our laptop at the dollar store. I had it factory reset with tf2 on lowest settings and I ran at 30 fps. THIRTY FPS with a factory reset computer.
The first 36 seconds are the description of me and my pc.
masterconfig keeps fucking up my game to 5 fps
Hey Aar,
If you experience your ammo turning all red like other Toonhud users, just press the "reload hud" button on the hotbar opening the menu.
Oh lord. Thank you so much for this useful knowledge!
is it weird to love the look of really smooth textures on tf2? like extremely low.. it just looks so clean.. If you do that to a modern game it makes it fucking ugly but tf2 low settings is a masterpiece
I’m so happy I got myself a new computer
ive been using an old Intel Pentium and a 10 year old GPU, but recently i upgraded to an I5 and a gtx 750 ti and wow was it a change.
Having decent fps helps so much : ( even i struggle sometimes in games but i know that i could do better with higher fps
I play all my games on a laptop that has a cheapo pentium processor.
All of my games.
On a toaster.
Everything is crispy.
nice
who's still using your config in 2020 ?
me !
i to this day play with shitty frames. it sometimes goes up to *150fps* and when i go to heavy battles where a lot of particles players etc. show up my frames
drops to 10. i downloaded configs but it doesnt seem to do much change. it adds frames but still drops heavily. my pc specs aren't even that bad for tf2.
-i5-2430m 2.4ghz dual core
-5gb ddr3 1600mhz ram
-5400 rpm 160gb hdd (second hand)
geforce gt 520mx 1gb vram. (see? my gpu isn't actually that bad for tf2. but idk why it's still like this.
probably because my laptop heats up easily or the slow hard drive. i've replaced my thermal paste for both gpu and cpu chips as well.
i hate this experiece so much because i've known tf2 since 2010 and started playing it in 2012. it's so hard because it's very difficult to improve my skills just because of the performance that my laptop is giving me. it's like my max potential in playing is being bottlenecked. people ofter tease me too because they see me wearing cosmetics but i suck at sniping sometimes because i can't even play because my frames just suddenly drops to 10 or 20. then i try to explain but, well, does not help it. they think im just making an excuse. i often rage quite a lot too because of this.
Tf2 relies heavily on ur cpu so having a beefy graphics card and gpu will help a little to no change
I have a overclocked 1070 + i7 + hyperX 16gb and even then the game goes down, less then 60, some times, i dont use any configs, but im a guy that likes nice, polish, textures, wat should i try to make my game run better and not destroyng the beauty of the game?
that's just how the game is
The game is absolutely fucked with modern hardware
it runs much better on older hardware for some reason
Get Mastercoms.
I have the same specs, it drops below 60 for me too. This game is fucked.
You can't do anything about it. The game itself doesn't utilize your PC's resources properly.
I have a low power machine
So I’ve managed to get a few hundred fps in a server with 2 people but as soon as I join normal games it drops to 30-90. It’s painful man, it’s painful.
Played against you on that T-rex payload map, I'm just happy I killed you like twice. You stomped us with like a 134 score or something like that.
Halloween gives me no more than 100 and at times what feels like less than 10
U just got another sub m8
Do an ultimate guide in configs, fps, connection etc.
*Poor people wants you do to this*
i see you are still trying to make the game playable
I still use a config even with my decent gaming PC, it helps keep me at high frames rates, without a config i still sometimes dip below 50.
"pentium 4 is bad"
me thinking about replacing my core i5 with a pentium 2: ummm
These would probably help get my game above 15 frames.
I installed Mastercomfig and it runs really smooth, except I get visual glitches every couple of seconds
0:22 that’s me
I love tf2 so much but my computer goes like 5 FPS
woah is that you
I remember when I started playing TF2 on my old shitty laptop.
I now have a Ryzen 7 2700X, a GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB of RAM, and an M.2 SSD
My FPS still struggles to get a stable framerate with default settings because they are just that fucking bad
0:12 bruh my first game was on Egypt and I ran into the enemy team as Scout and got killed immediately... Why? Well you see I HAD 20FPS AND IT WAS DIPING TO 0 WHEN AT 24 PLAYERS........ Bruh why did I even play... Wait maybe that's the reason why it went blue screen of death 2 years later
a $200 lowend laptop?
basically that's my laptop
If you're stuck on Windows, try the EXT4 partition format as that may be what makes it run so damn well.
webb well, good luck using ext4 under windows. Also, weren't Linux systems more dependant on your hd?
Yo man thanks for recommending some good cfg's Im using an old macbook pro that is dying so good to know mastercomms is quality.
Kept dying from random crit
I had a regular computer but I had to put all my settings in the lowest possible to have at least 30 FPS
I prefer Comagalia Stability because of it's customizability, my problem with master config is that the mercs' faces are souless in medium and lower quality
Buddy you can customizability in mastercomfig bruh
@@gamerbeginner5019 yeah i was stupid back then and didnt realize it lmao, mastercomfig is now my primary config for tf2

For the three years of tf2 I still use a LAPTOP that has a dual core that only runs at 2.2 ghz
Intel HD 5500 graphics it's really sad like I wish I could record but running tf2 is about the only thing I can with it.
I have an i9-9900K@5.0GHz and RTX 2070 and I still use mastercomfig medium low (with some settings tweaked). My frames never drop below 200 and it's glorious
There is no point for TF2 to go above 60fps because my laptop monitor's refresh rate is 60hz
